Does anyone seriously think we are a top 4 chance, or a flag threat? 9-12 is my thoughts. Geelong, Eagles, Colonwood, Brisbane, Port, Saints, Bulldogs and of course the Tigers all have legit claims of a finals berth, while there is usually at least one surprise. We are proven pretenders over many many decades, with a forward line that full of fill-ins or young kids and a bloke who cant kick straight to save himself. Hope T.Mac can prove to be more than a one season wonder at f.f

Living in Queensland and have not experienced a single lockdown since Covid was foisted upon us. Move north mate. It really is paradise here.

AFLW will silence almost every doubter a decade from now, if the current improvement curve continues. I was a doubter at first, and early on the skills were garbage. Jesus the improvement has been huge. It's not just an enjoyable game because they wear the Dees colours any more. They have some serious skills and toughness considering their time in the game. Bloody impressive.

PRACTICE MATCH: vs Richmond - Friday 26 February 2021
faultydet replied to Bring-Back-Powell's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's a practice game. The coaching staff will say the result is unimportant and that we needed to work on our set plays/game style/inside 50 "connections" etc. I'd take a win any time, but mostly hope for zero injuries and a look at the kids. -

lol, you always say stuff like that, as if we actually learn something from being mauled by a premiership contender. ? As always, it's the young kids I'm most interested in. Also to see who is played on the left wing opposite Langdon and whether any of our new coaches has made a difference to our inside 50's. -
Review Finds Collingwood Guilty of Systemic Racism
faultydet replied to rjay's topic in Melbourne Demons
My (ex) brother in law was a Melbourne copper who did the rounds in Melbourne around 3 decades ago. 25 odd years ago he told me a story involving Eddie McGuire before I barely had a clue who he was. He told me that he often was in a position to be close when fat Eddie was interviewing the players. He described his demeanour as "sickening". He also said that he and his fellow cops thought Eddie looked like he wanted to sleep with the players he was interviewing. Not a statement on purported racism, but a comment on his character. Never been a fan of the guy. -

Nike and Coca-Cola Lobby Against Xinjiang Forced Labor Bill Business groups and major companies like Apple have been pressing Congress to alter legislation cracking down on imports of goods made with forced labor from persecuted Muslim minorities in China. -
Review Finds Collingwood Guilty of Systemic Racism
faultydet replied to rjay's topic in Melbourne Demons
The person writing the report is exceptionally biased, to the point of being racist. No surprises that "institutional racism" was found by someone who complains about it for a living. -
Review Finds Collingwood Guilty of Systemic Racism
faultydet replied to rjay's topic in Melbourne Demons
Exactly what it is. A left-wing activist paid to publish a report confirming her own biases. May as well have been Tim Soupy of the racism factory who did the write up. The [censored] at Colonwood starts and ends with fat Eddie. He is the centre of their scummy universe and has escaped all of the criticism that other folks would get if they said the same things he has. -

Canned the auto renew on my 3 memberships for this season. Nothing to do with Covid. Just a protest against the insipid season we dished up. First time in 20 years I will enter a season without a membership. Won't impact me because I've attended 2 games in the past 10 years. For the first time in 2 decades they will earn it before I spend a cracker.

More important than doing the right thing is being SEEN to do the right thing. Nobody believes the AFL actually cares about this stuff for any other reason than impact on the bottom line.

Where "2 weeks to slow the spread" turns into rolling forever lockdowns. Never trust a politician to hand back his new found power you gifted to him, because he never will.

Jonathan Brown to take Sam Weideman under his wing
faultydet replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Brown played angry. Weideman has (imo) played his most impactful footy when he attacks the ball like he hates it. Need to reduce the gaps between those performances to become the player he should. -
R.I.P Broady. Talented player and absolute hero of a bloke, pushing his new wife to safety at the cost of his own life. Thoughts are with the Broadbridge family.

I do get tired of the perfect weather and fantastic nightlife though.

Still think a community series game in Airlie Beach would be a good idea. (not being selfish at all)
