Except take a look at the replay, he had times where he was right beside a player (ie: Cunnington) in our forward line and was soft and didn't make a tackle or an impact. I don't like calling players soft, but in that case it was clear cut to tackle and he didn't. Really disappointed me today.

His non-effort to tackle Cunnington in our forward line was the last straw for me. That and him lazily manning the mark after ANB was done for one of his holding the ball's against. ANB also got up to man the mark but that cosy position was taken and he then had to rush off to re-position. I mean it was hime getting up from under a couple of blokes that tackled him. Summed up Melksham's day and attitude today for me.

I think mature players like Jones are perfect for the sub. Experience to play where required, can play a full game if needed or a burst when some pace has gone from the ground. Can provide support from the bench and doesn't stiffle development like having a younger player on only limited or no game time. If he was sub a few weeks in a row it wouldn't have a severe impact on his residual fitness and less soreness slowing him down.
