Probably the most level headed and non self serving post I have seen you make over the many years Rono. I still hate Scully though!!!
-
Totally agree.

Never thought of Hughes as a Key Forward. Always thought he was more of a flanker.

I'm trying to go by the language being used. Is number 6 Mark Jackson?
-
I'll have another stab. I would have guessed Max Gawn for question 1 but that has already been done. So my guess is Russel Robertson with a left field guess of Earl Spalding. For question 6, was it Neil Balme?

Best Traded In & Out MFC players

He is in the team listed above by Bucket List. -
Really? That seems a little soft. In these trying times we all need to show a little more resilience. Seems you are running away a little early. If you have good info, stick by it and ride out those that question it. They are just trying to separate the wheat from the chaff. So long at at isn't abusive don't take it to heart.

Will the real Angus Brayshaw please stand up?

Gee I find myself reading some of your posts with the Grandpa Simpson voice in my ears these days. I really don't like the Saty-bashing but I don't think the level of aggression in your post was warranted Saty. -
I think James Harmes would make a decent captain in the future. More maturity, bleeds for the club, focused. He is my left field choice in a few years time. Others may be more credentialed by he has something.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ADAM TOMLINSON

Excellent post with reference to your quote. Good pick up and hopefully a good piece of the puzzle. -
Don't leave out Chandler. Once he is over his wrist injury he will add more depth. Thought he was ahead of Bedford before that.

So if we win the whole thing this year, will it be the highest the premiership cup has ever been lifted? Is Max the AFL's tallest ever captain? Congratulations Max. I think you will do a great job.

Mr Riems, do you have a good Champagne list?

What is to say Rivers or Pickett can't have a Selwood type impact for a first year draftee if given the opportunity. Jackson should have similar impact to a first year Hawkins. That's without considering our other recruits.

It was a hot morning and showed on the players by the end of the session. Was a lot more in rehab or not doing the full session than I was expecting including Pruess and Smith. I didnt see Tom McDonald, Vanders or Petty today. May have been elsewhere at the ground but even when all players came to the huddle I didn't see them. Some observations that might be common place for those that get to see training all the time: 1. I was really impressed with Sparrow. He is a good size and moved really well. Also thought his skills were pretty solid and he ran out the session well. 2. Harley Bennell is a lot taller than I thought and seems to be really good bloke. Don't so much care about his past now, just good luck to him. 3. Really glad we picked up Brown. He looks dependable and solid. I think he will prove great value. 4. Bedford has certainly come on since last year and Chadler seems to be a good mature kid who has some drive and passion. One to keep watching. 5. Max is so giving of his time. Stayed out for extra time to get around to all the fans he could, despite walking around with th e big brace on. 6. Oscar Mc seems very fit and was solid. 7. I hope everything clicks for Josh Wagner. He is versatile size and athletic enough, if it just all clicks for him he will be a bonus. Also special mention to all the players who signed stuff for the kids. They were welcoming and engaging and the mood of the group seems strong after a hot hard session. Have to go now and peel the Mooloolaba prawns and Mud crab we got on the way home. And yes, it will be with a XXXX. ? DEMONOX’S TRAINING REPORT ? KALLANGURDEMON'S TRAINING REPORT ? DEMON SPOFFORTH'S TRAINING REPORT ? DOCS DEMONS' TRAINING REPORT

Jordan might be a chance if he impresses in the pre season games. -
If a cricket team were a football team

I would have left the flat track bit out. I agree with others though. When I first read this thread my first thought was the India/Collingwood double. South Africa remind me of Geelong. -
I am an apostophile - I use them a lot.....

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
Left Foot Snap replied to Tinks's topic in Melbourne Demons
You know., I don't post much but I have been reading the boards for many years. I always thought you were a bit odd, but I'm tolerant so I let personal opinions slide. However; when you slate Lewis like that, and I saw no reason to think he wasn't committed to the cause, it goes beyond tolerance and you need to be called out. I rate Lewis and his contribution to the club. I do not rate self indulgent internet dweebs with agendas and bad attitutudes. (Some may say simpeltons). If we applied the Roos policy on here I'm sure you would be one of the first to go. -
Farewell to Jay Kennedy-Harris & Billy Stretch
Left Foot Snap replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yeah. Me too. As a West Torrens supporter Steven Stretch was said to be the least likely to succeed of a talented bunch of SA boys to move to the VFL. I took an immediate interest in him and was wrap to get Billy. Had high hopes but not to be. Good luck to the young fellow for the future and his whole family. -
I don't have many football stories, but one day a few or so years ago, when Ratten was coach of Carlton, I was on a plane with the Carlton side. I was seated close to the coaching staff and was listenning/eaves dropping a bit. Wasn't hard as they were speaking quite freely. Anyway, Richardson was the stand out. He had a laptop and was going through things with Ratten (who didn't seem interested), other coaches but particularly individually with players. It was a while ago so details are sketchy but I think the flight was to Brisbane and he was preparing for a game against the Lions. The main thing I took away was how keen and energetic he was, and also that Ratten was asking who their seconds were playing in the VFL that week, it took a while to get an answer from someone. I found, and still find it, amazing that someone in a management position like that, and most of his team, were not across such aspects. Anyway, Richarson stood out on that day and as many have said - I think we have picked up a good football person who loves the game more than the industry.
