  1. I think Tassie's timing is pretty good. The money they hand over probably means more at the moment as it will not be easily replaced, and it is not like they are demanding a team immediately, just an undertaking. If I were Tassie I would feel pretty sick of handing over good money as a future investment only be be constantly shunned in expansion plans because they are already a cash cow. Would love to see them pull the money and have the narrative change for a while. AFL will soon come crawling back to them for another deal.

As far as I can work out, I think he is replying to Dieters post from Oct 23.
  3. Daisy did a few things but did not have a great day and was right to be left out of the best yesterday. She will be better for the run.
  4. Gavin Robertson the ex cricketer?

I think Spargo is also midfielder being made into a small forward. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I'm not ready to write Bedford off. Way too early. I also think Lockhart and Chandler could be worth another chance if they don't make it as defenders. I think Spargo will start to mature into a very different player in the future. He could still be the answer to the other wing spot with his clever ball use. Just needs to get the engine right.

They took Hannant like that from us. Unless the rules have changed.
  7. I think skills point is that he didn't debut until 20/21 yo. So developed heaps in the years after he was 16. I didn't know of him before he came to us but its hard to think that sort of pace isn't pretty natural. Maybe he learnt how to use it better as he got older and more confident.
  8. I agree re Robbo. Could never be seen as a small pocket. Aaron Davey though started there and sort of redefined the role of small forward. I think its a bit of a travesty he never made it to 200 games. If he stayed forward more or had more physical support in the midfield Im sure he would have. Loved his story and career regardless.
  9. Are you talking about Pickett or Farmer?
  10. Never considered Bitter as a point scorer. I always found him quite balanced.
  11. My view is that we were more looking to supplement Pickett, not replace him.
  12. I thought he had problems with his wrists not his legs. That's my recollection anyway.
  13. That was definitely meant to say Bewick.
  14. Wow is Brock Mclean his dad?
  15. Maybe Dodoro sent back his muffin for this giant marshmallow.

Collingwood enticed him to come to them on big money, apparently backloaded. Sounds like their problem and I don't see why we or anyone else should be rushing to save them. Same thing might happen at Carlton and Saints in the future. Just like the Buddy deal with Sydney, they need to be held to their deals. Taking him on for a fair value is fine, but having to wear a Collingwood mistake for years would stink. They either cover difference between what a new team is prepared to pay and what they contacted him to for the rest of the contract term, or they can be stuck with their mistake and live with their greed.
  17. I agree with this. Thought he would be an excellent target.
  18. I would play Nev as a defensive forward. Think he might surprise.
  19. This is a marvellous drop.
  20. Wow , I opened this thread this morning when it first started and now I come back many pages in. I haven't read it all and given the snapshot on this page I won't be. All I will say is I love King Nev. Only player I asked for an autograph and I think he is a champion human. I hope he finds form this weekend and plays a blinder. I have no doubt many here feel the same way. I don't pretend to understand what he or many others go through but message to Nev, not everyone is a hater and you have a lot of support. I don't care what colour your skin is, I care that you negate the opposition small forwards and carry yourself in a manner befitting respect. You do that consistently as well as serving the community selflessly. Well done.
  21. Do you mean homophones?
  22. Selwood antagonised an opponent on the boundary line with an arm around the neck after he had been beaten. He then collapsed like he was shot when given a light jumper tap in retaliation. Not the first time I have seen this from him.
