  1. Well that is the point of the movie.
  2. I'm not for a minute suggesting he was ruckman size, but I always thought Pike was a bit bigger than that. Surprised me to see the 189cm. I guess that explains his 'short man syndrome' antics.
  3. Bitters, no offence intended but have you ever seen the movie Leon The Pig Farmer. I love your posts but you remind me so much of this movie.
  4. I'd like to see him move into the midfield. I'd give him go as a tag on Mitchell for periods this week to get him ready for next year. But then, I waited patiently for Daniel Bell to not become a midfielder.
  5. Spencer is contracted.
  6. Thanks Rev. We have to run to meet our tour guide now but ill look up those when we get back. Definitely not western style bars thiugh. Walked into the Ned Kelly bar in Hong Kong, and straight out again shaking heads. Rusty, the way will be catching up on the replays when we get back. Fkew out monday so looking forward to catching that win too.
  7. Believe it or not Rev, I am. Arrived yesterday and we are walking the wall for the next two days. Zero chance of my wife agreeing to me watching footy though while here. Would love a bar suggestion though.
  8. Killer heat and humidity in Qatar. Were the championships held in a purpose built airconditioed indoor beach stadium?
  9. I always thought it was Nev. Or Neville if he has done something wrong...
  10. Glad to see Bugg that high up in the votes too. Strange week - big win and no Viney, Jones or Gawn.
  11. Clarry Choo - would be the best Asian player in the league within a few years. (love me some Clayton - never seen a player so young with such poise while in the hard stuff). Its a gift to watch.
  12. I have always been very hopeful on Stretch as I was a fan of Steven. He was a West Torrens boy and growing up you didn't get a lot to cheer about with them. I remember when the 'great exodus' of SA players went to Victorian clubs at the time - Steven Stretch was voted least likely to make it. I was delighted he did. In a way following him is what fired my interest in following the Dees. Before that it was really just interest because I played junior footy in the same jumper. Now I have a family cohort of rabid members, albeit in Brisbane so we can't get to see games live. My daughter (12 yr old and a massive Nathan Jones and Daisy Pearce fan) came up with the name T-Rex for Billy. (Little stretch) There were many T-Rex calls and high fives coming from the TV room on Sunday and I hope that continues.
  13. Hard to cut those marshmallows, and that sugar coating could bring a dieabetic down in a heartbeat - oh wait, that was last week. Only one word for this week. Crud!!

  15. "No no, don't tell me - I'm keen to guess....." (ok, that was the last one)
  16. That's what I was getting at too AW. He will get weeks sometime for hurting one of the leagues darlings, no matter how legal the tackle is. It will get adjudicated in hindsight. He is one driven and hard at it footballer. The snipers of the game need more scrutiny, not the JVs.
  17. "Wensleydale?" "Yes" "Ok - I'll have some of that then." "Oh sorry, I thought you were talking to me. Wensleydale is my name...."
  18. Excellent - I look forward to your work with the fish slapping dance!! Actually, my favourite has to be the cheese shop sketch "sorry, I was deliberately wasting your time". On JV, I share the man love. He is a pleasure to watch. Him and Vandenberg when on fire are making up for having to watch tripe these last few years. My son is dusting off his old Brad Miller jumper as we speak. I think he will continue to grow as an on-field leader through the year and others will naturally follow him. Suspension is his only enemy.
  19. Going early - but that is going to be very hard to beat as post of the year...
  20. Just got this email response from the club for all those interested. ======================================= Thank you for your email and support of the Club. We only just received your enquiry as our office was closed for the Christmas and New Year period so please excuse our delayed response. The session will take place this Saturday 16 January at the Maroochydore Multi Sports Complext on Fishermans Rd from 9.00am. There will be plenty of opportunities to meet the players after the session and we’ll also have a BBQ as well as our mascot Checker for the kids. Please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any more queries about the session. We look forward to seeing you there! ======================================
  21. I have emailed the club about the Maroochydore Camp. I realise I won't get a response until the new year but if anyone knows any dates it would be appreciated. If they have been publicised somewhere I can't find them. Last year's open training event was awesome and the only chance we have to connect we the club live and keep the kids interest burning, although the game on the Gold Coast this year will be a welcome addition too. If anyone has any info it would be appreciated so we can save the date. Have an 11 yr old who is dying to get Nat Jones to sign her breast cancer Guernsey with the no 2 on it she got for Xmas.
  22. Thanks Jack. Do you know if that means we can bid on Wallis if we so choose and Essendon would have to use their first rookie pick? Part of me says we should take him, give him Brad Green's number, give him no games and delist him with a big thanks to his father. However, the sane side of me says best available. (unless there is a Long available too....) I find the Sam Murray one very interesting though. Isn't he from Wodonga? If the Sydney region extends to the entire Ovens and Murray League then it is more rigged than I thought.
  23. WJ how does the rookie pre-selection work? Also, is that the same Sam Murray we were linked to in an article pre draft? I guess I'm most intrigued how Essendon can pre-select. If it is a father son does that mean the bidding process is still in play?
  24. I agree 55. Someone who can play next year if required. I think only two 'available' Ruckmen is leaving a lot to chance. The beauty of doing this through the Rookie draft is you only have to keep them one year. If better options open up you are not so locked in. If they show they are good enough then great. You can't really do that with an 18 yr old who you know will take time. Also don't think many of the DFA ruckmen would have been thrilled by a one year contract and they were probably seen as NQR to offer an extended timeframe and clog the list. I don't see developing talls as clogging the list. You have to invest in them sometime and you need a few through the journey. List clogging with someone who has developed and shown to be deficient is far worse in my eyes. If the Rookie list is used in this way I think it would be a very shrewd move by the club.
