  1. You read that in the Herald this morning?
  2. I havent got a clue if they are any good. I don't want them here, we have plenty of young talent on our list I'm sure we are in no great need for them. But I still don't blame them for wanting to come play with us. We got LJ. He's gunna be bigger than MJ. Get on board while you still can!
  3. I wouldn't blame them. Probably just wanna get the chance to play with the Walpari Wizard!
  4. When I was about 5 I was riding a tandem bike with my neighbour, he was stearing on the front and I asked him who he went for in the footy. He replied Melbourne and asked me who I went for? I had no idea and as he was older I thought he was pretty cool so I said Melbourne. Been a fan ever since.
  5. Found some interesting threads and opinions of him. Here they are. Link 1 Link 2 Link 3 Link 4 "Black is an exceptional athlete, has been playing foward and kicking numerous goals for the thunder colts and also played on a wing and played some very good footy in the league on the weekend." “I have watched alot of peel colts games this year, and they have one smart big foward who I love Aaron Black. I know WCE have been interested for a while, and was hoping he would stay under the radar. Unfortunately for me good for you guys, looks like he will be your second rounder if still available this year. I would of said a 4th rounder a month ago but there is incredible amount of interest in him at the moment. If he has a real good national draft camp could even go first round. (I suspect he will) So if he still available at your second pick smart/lloyd will take him.” "Aaron Black (super foward for Peel if any of you get a chance to see a peel game this year get to the ground and watch this kid. I was hoping the club could keep him under raps as I know we are interested in him, dont think that will happen now was hoping to rookie him but his form has been to good and has got a invite to the national draft camp now 196cm power foward great mark great kick on goal has real presence is a south west kid thats why he went unnoticed for so long)" "If Dockers want a KPF, Aaron Black from Peel is the one in the third round. One of the best footballers I've seen in a while. Big, athletic, awesome leap and pair of hands, and a skill set and mind to match. Exactly what you want. Mature bodied and 19, could be ready to go in some capacity by round one next year."
  6. Have read that this guy is an exceptional athlete, about the 195cm mark, takes a good grab and has kicked a few goals in the WAFL colts. There are 2 Aaron Black's, this one plays for Peel Thunder the other plays for West Perth. Has anybody seen this guy play and can give a run down on what they think of him? He definatly sounds like an option for pick 18 if you ask me.
  7. Mainly looking for an answer from people who have seen a bit of underage footy. Is Butcher just the best KPP in this draft, which may actually be that he isn't that great it's just there isn't many good KPP players in the draft. Or would you say he would have been up there with other highly rated KPP players from previous years such as Watts, Hurley, Gumbleton, Lach Hansen, Kreuzer etc.
  8. Just found a bit of info on Griffiths and Carlisle on Bigfooty ( ) It was off the Collingwood board. Jake Carlisle (Calder Cannons): Really like the look of him. Nice size, mobile, smart forward, with good hands and a good set shot for goal. Seems a really solid player. Plays mostly as a full forward. Could well be around at our pick and would be a good fit for our forward line. Ben Griffiths (Eastern Rangers): Injury affected 198cm KPF. Quick for his size with good mobility, very strong mark, good below his knees, long right foot kick. Could be a Hine type pick thinking of McCarthy and Dawes who fell due to injury issues. Seems to fit our needs. Vic Metro 24.16 (160) d New South Wales/Australian Capital Territory 8.1 (49) at Bruce Purser Oval, Rouse Hill (Western Sydney) Ben Griffiths – Coming off injuries last year, he was a late replacement. He smashed the game apart with five goals (three in the first term) and six marks (four contested). His marking and goalkicking technique was a feature and I loved his attack on the ball. Draft eligibility: 2009 NAB AFL Draft Really keen to know more about this Griffiths guy. Only going by the little I've read he sounds all right. EDIT: found some more, I'll just keep adding if I do.
  9. Hey mate did you have a password for it?
  10. "If you're not part of the solution, if you're not trying to help the club move forward, you're not a supporter. You're a pretender." Could not agree more. So many people sit up on their high horses ranting and raving whilst providing little to no help in finidng solutions.
  11. Hahahaha. Pie and wait for it, CHIPS as well! I think the robots need a bit of maintenaince!
  12. I don't hold out great hope that Newton is going to make it in the AFL. However the reason he missed his shots at goals was because he is massively low on confidence when kicking for goal. The banana was not because he is lazy and arrogant. He had virtually the same shot at goal before this kick and dropped punted it straight through the points. It's all in Newton's head and it's up to him to fix it. He's just got to back himself.
  13. Wouldn't normally post this but I will haha Woke up this morning with a msg from a mate saying Pav to Melbourne. This mate is the biggest fair weather melb supporter out there (he would probably think Yze is still on our list) so I'm not taking too much notice. He said his uncle is mates with Hutchy and Shwartz and some other guys. Said Pav wants to play in Vic and Melb first choice. Apparently he owns a horse with Juddy, although I have no idea why that was relevant. I personally reckon it's all hear say. And I also wouldn't think at Round 5 he would of already chosen a club as his first choice, especially us. Although we are yet to show him our powerpoint presentation! Just thought I would post it to add some juice to this discussion
  14. Bailey and crew can't do much about the last decade, which is why I'm giving them a chance. I don't know mate, i reckon if you look at our current list there is a bit of hope. It's frustrating, but yeah it will probably take 5 years. But I reckon they are going about it the right way. Unfortunatly in the short term I think yet again we'll be getting a bit of heartache. What I look forward to though is Watts, Blease, Strauss, Bennell, Grimes, Morton, Maric, Garland, Martin, Cheney, Frawley and the like with 50 to 100 games under their belt and hopefully Mclean, Davey, Rivers, Bate, and Jones playing their best footy.
  15. Haha I'm not concerned about abuse buddy don't worry. Also I have been a member since 10 years. Again tho, giving me nothing. You want everything solved and it all to be better within the space of 1 year. How are we suppose to be winning games with the team of young blokes we are putting on the park who have hardly any AFL experience?? I'm looking for improvement in individuals and also sections of the ground. You're looking for improvement on the scoreboard. Which is more simple??
  16. Finally! agree with every word!
  17. I don't see it as every year we don't win a flag it is a crap year. "Excuses are over", thats great you say that, so what are we to do then. Do you have all the answers?? Seriously, can't you see that you can't fix things over night! Don't bring up the argument we have been trying for 45 years, because Bailey and crew have been here for just over 1. You can rant and rave all you like but so far you haven't said anything constructive other than get rid of Brock because apparently he is no good. And trading Brock in the last 2 years is plain stupid. How do we predict that he gets his foot caught under a pack and his ankle snaps! Bloody hell. We are 0-3 and we havent improved because we are still losing. Such a simple simple outlook! Our skills arn't there yet but have DEFINATLY improved. Our backline is looking a lot better. Our midfield is winning more clearances. Martin, Morton, Jones, Cheyney just to start with have all improved on last year. It is so easy just to sit there and bag Brock and bag Bailey and anything or anyone else you like. Cos at the end of the day if you are proved wrong who cares, we just won a premiership. So saying everyone is welcome to say I told you so when you are wrong is no biggie mate
  18. No flag for 45 years is crap, but they are bloody hard to win and we have been up there quite a few times in those 45 years so it isn't all bad. We clearly have been no good at taking the next step. Pretty much every position in the club has changed over the last 2 years, as we are trying everything to fix this and get our club back on it's feet. What do you want?? You have clearly written Brock off so who else have you written off, and tell me, what are Baily and co doing so badly?? They are coaching a bunch kids! Look at the big picture. As much as you may want everything to happen and everyone to be cheery it just isn't going to happen instantly. Also Brock has had all sorts of injuries since 2006. When he has been on the park he has been pretty good. He's copped some heavy tags which he hasn't coped with well but he won't be coping the number 1 tag every week for the rest of his career if our midfield develops and improves with experience.
  19. We may not have won a premiership in 45 years but we sure haven't been a in a rough patch that long. I know we are craving for good times, so how do you reckon we go about that. You can't just go poof, wow, there we go, we are good now! That's why we have recruited a bunch of youngsters we hope we can develop into guns so we can get good times! An inform Brock Mclean is a gun, who can definatly hit a target over 25 metres. He most likely would have won our B & F last year if he didn't get injured! Things are not going to happen overnight I am afraid
  20. He's not in great form, although he got better as the game went on yesterday. But good to know you're as loyal to Brock in a rough patch as he is to the club whilst we are in a rough patch
  21. That's a bit rough when he just said he would be loyal to us
  22. Yeah could have been, hopefully he was just suddenly ill. He wasn't named for Casey during the week either. Hopefully all is good
  23. Does anybody know if he is injured or why he didn't play this week for Casey? I thought he was close to a call up
  24. Did this play happen right at the start of the game. The handball went to Maric who then turned it over. If this was the same play then I can guarantee you it was Aussie.
  25. This would be a great if it was pulled off! Would be even better if we were given permission to have a short training session once a week on the ground, even just a 45 min to hour skills session. I like the part where Schwab reffered to 300,000 people travelling through the G outside of competetion. The amount of new supporters we could generate by just been the main link towards the G would be substantial I would guess. The MCG is such a world icon, it would be unreal if we were the major tenant. This could give us that kick we need to get back in the ball game!
