Yes he was a good coach. His finals record over 10 years says he was a good coach. He did a lot for this club. He wasn't a great coach and that is why he isn't still here. Hopefully Baily is just what we are looking for. So far it seems like he has the respect demanding toughness as well as the smarts. Lets hope he is as good a game day coach as he is speach maker. It's good times :D

Poor choice of words, Daniher was alot better than a poor coach. Dean Bailey has definatly got me excited, realy looking forward to seeing if Sylvia, Dunn, Bate, Brock, CJ, Newton and even TJ can go to new levels next year. Hopefully Bruce can return to his very best (which is extremely good) as well. Bring on 08!

I saw it too. There is a poster on there that said Ari (guy who started rumour) also said that Sheedy and Hird will be back at Essendon in 2008. This says to me he is full of it! Bloody hope I'm wrong tho!!

Sure as eggs ey Tell me a coach who is concentrating on coaching the priemership favorites in the finals has had enough time to 'guarantee' he will be coaching elsewhere next year. Why would he be even thinking about it at this point in time. He may well leave at the end of year but theres no way its a certain bet. BTW he would be an idiot to leave that current crop of players. All of them are young, they could very well be a major force for the next 5 years.

I read the fist few posts in this thread and refuse to read anymore in fear that people are supporting this! TRADING DAVEY IS JUST DUMB AND STUPID!!! An idea thought of out of annoyance and panic! TRADING BELL IS JUST ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!!!! DUMB AND STUPID ARE NOT EVEN WORDS TO DESCRIBE IT!!! Bell has been a revelation in a disappointing year. It's players like Bell, Jones, Newton, Bate and Sylvia that are making the games bearable to watch.

I cannot stand Robert Walls!!! This article doesnt help that opinion one bit either. His arguments are so flawed. Last year, Robertson kicked 44 goals, missed just the one game and yet didn't finish in the Demons' top 10. He seems too content with his lot at Melbourne. He needs a change of scenery to get the best out of his remaining years. Having to earn respect at a new club would get him out of his comfort zone. He played injured pretty much the whole year everyone knew that. The year before he kicked 70 odd goals and robbed of All Australian! In regards to Bruce, Maybe the Lions' second-round pick could seal the deal. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE JOKING! BRUCE ONLY WORTH A SECOND ROUND PICK!! I couldnt stand the biased commentating. At one stage Brown dived into a pack and wacked it about 20m BACKWARDS for us to the boundary. Dont know which commentator it was but they caled it as, "Brown dives in and whacks it FORWARDS to the boundary" He was clearly calling the game as a West Coast supporter. Only minor but still gave me the S@#$s
