  1. I also liked the look of Nick Rippon in those highlights from the schoolboy game at the G. Looked a jet
  2. This thread has a bit on him by the looks: http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/2012-western-australian-draft-prospects.916703/page-11
  3. How good did #5 look. Apparently his name is Nick Rippon, came 2nd in TAC Cup B&F. Only rated around the 50 to rookie draft mark apparently. Anyone know much about him?
  4. Just realised that we downgraded draft picks in the Gysberts Pederson trade, not the other way round. You're kidding!
  5. I hope they are getting in his ear to try and nab him in the Pre-Season Draft at pick #3. Need something positive to make up for today
  6. Not the biggest fan of either player (I think Gysberts is worth sticking with). However if pick 88 and Peterson is the best you can get for them then you are either careless or incompetent.
  7. If it's true, Morton for pick 88, Gysberts for Pederson, I'll be furious. Absolute joke
  8. With a quick google search I managed to find your twitter feed and the original post. You were having a laugh with some mates before and after about whether dud journalists would pick this up and run with it. Absolute pisser that they have and that they clearly didn't do a basic search like I did and see your whole plan to suck them in. Even funnier that its Jay Clark! Classic! Well played sir
  9. Dunn played a role in the second half of the year he has never played before, he had a spot in the back 6. He played it very well. Not only did he have a long and accurate kick, I thought he was quite smart when running, drawing the defender before offloading with the handball when bringing the ball out of defense. Don't see the logic in delisting him when we may have finally found his best spot.
  10. B: Garland Frawley Dunn HB: Tapscott. McDonald Watts C: Blease. Grimes. Trengove HF: Byrnes. Dawes. Howe F: Davey. Clark. Peterson R: Jamar. Jones. Sylvia Int: Viney. Mckenzie. Toumpas/Wines Sub: Bail Emerg: Seller. Nicholson. Gysberts
  11. Yep, should of just played at an AFL standard with injuries. Very sound logic.
  12. He competes when the ball hits the deck after a ball up quite well. Obviously can't win his own ball like Nic Nat. Similiar athletic capabilities however. Have seen him run around and away from midfielders. He picks up a decent amount of possies around the ground as well. I also like how on a couple of occasions in tight matches he seems to lift and really contribute. Obviously he is not the same player as Nic Nat but he is closer to a Nic Nat than a Sam Jacobs
  13. It would be interesting to know Stef Martins market worth, whether the Pies would be interested, and whether he would save our pick 20 from being used. I'm a huge wrap for Martin as a #1 ruckman. So much so I'd nearly have been tempted to play him as such over Jamar. Has similiar attributes to Nic Nat without the offensive instinct but able to play in the back half better. If he was on the table, a little worried we would regret losing him.
  14. If endurance is what is holding him back, unless he has physical limitations, this is ine skill that anybody can improve. It just takes hard work. Its up to him to do this. For the life of me I can't understand how any pro athlete wouldn't put in the required effort to do this, particularly when you clearly have talent. Let's hope Jordy is working his backside off.
  15. Woewy, netted us a first rounder that we used on Daniel Bell
  16. Clark lacking ability at ground level for a big man is flat out wrong. Very adept for a big man at ground level
  17. He sounds appealing. Do you think a trade for Gysberts would get it done?
  18. He wanted to know which of our players was running in the GF sprint. What on earth is wrong with asking that? If you don't care, that's fine, don't open the thread. Keyboard warrior
  19. Did you not read the opening post? He said its hearsay and majority of trades won't happen.
  20. I'd imagine a player who lacked a little confidence in his ability at AFL level when he commenced his career; would be lacking a lot of confidence on his return to AFL level after snapping his leg in two. I think Strauss shows the attributes of a good footy player (great skills, decent speed and agility), and his poor decision making comes a lot from the fact it appears he doubts himself out on the field. If he can overcome this, hopefully as he matures in age and experience, I think he could definitely be a solid player in the back line for us.
  21. I saw him play in the WA v Vic Metro game on TV this year. I gotta say my impression was that he looked a lot bigger than all the other kids, n I didn't get that feeling he'd be a gun at the next level. I watch hardly any under age footy tho, so I'm a long way from an expert on this stuff. I'm not sold on the merit of trading a pick 4 in this years draft for a potential top 4 pick in next years draft. It just doesn't sound logical to me. A lot usually changes at the pointy end of the draft from the bottom age year to the top age year. Names I can think of who rose or slid off the top of my head are: Jack Trengove John Butcher Jack Watts Stephen Hill Jack Darling Paul Johnson Tom Swift Mitch Clark Beau Dowler
  22. What's wrong with the theory that Neeld said himself? The players voted, Grimes and Trengove were clear standouts, and they couldn't split them. I'll take the man on his word
  23. You don't just change captains to who plays well every year. If Trengove played as well as Jones did this year, there wouldn't be any question as to whether he should be captain. There is so much more to leadership than playing well. Unless you have an active role at the club, you really have no idea who the best leaders are.
  24. I'm going to come to you for opinions from now on. Cheers mate
