  1. No, not an option. Toumpas is going to be a player.
  2. Hopefully we employing some advanced interogation techniques.
  3. And the irony in all this, Damien Barrett has most likely never even laced a boot. So all in all, a bloke who has most likely never played football, is bagging out a kid who he has never even see play.. Yet this Barrett fool gets these media gigs, I think that just sums up the media landscape at the moment.
  4. They are not tap ruckman, surely they won't hinge their 2014 season on Pyke reproducing his 2013 form, doesn't always happen. In any case, Pyke still has flaws and would need to be complimented by an experienced campaigner. Tippett can't ruck, he is too soft mentally and also believes he shouldn't have to.
  5. Sydney does have the midfield depth to cope with the loss of Kennedy. If I were Sydney, I'd considering listening to what we had to offer at least. Jamar would appeal to them, he'd add no value trade wise - but we'd have to throw him any trade with Syd. They desperately need a ruckman. Imagine if we could pull this trade off!
  6. KK is an out and out gun... The most improvement out of ANY of the draftees coming through. If they all played an extra year, based on improvement rates, KK would pass the lost of them. Kids got it all.
  7. I don't think it's even fair to compare the two.
  8. He will be well gone by 40.
  9. Yeah I thought Freeman looked a bit rushed and I appears to hurry it on the boot. Most impressive highlights for mine were Salem and Taylor.
  10. If West Coast were desperate for him, they would not of traded their pick 6. People seem to think Sheed will be there at 11, obviously they didn't watch the nationals. Sheed, Taylor and Kelly had the best nationals and by a fair bit. That is the big stage. I like Sheed, he was a class above, I liked Kelly and I think Lewis Taylor is a Sam Mitchell clone.
  11. Barrett fits in the current generation, that is all I will say.
  12. Some would argue that they've been off for much longer than that. 7 months might be more realistic.
  13. Yeah, it would be a massive win for us. It's a hypothetical of course, but it would be a dream to land Shiel, no doubt. GWS seemed reluctant to give up Tyson last year and Shiel this year, for good reason. I think if we could use pick 9 to get Shiel this year, we should try and do that, but it appears unlikely GWS will let him go.
  14. Frawley for no picks, Dawes is invaluable to improving our culture and Mitch Clark is exactly what we need - now we are improving our mids. We have enough youth already on our list and enough young quality already coming in this year. Experienced players like Frawley, Dawes and Clark are absolutely necessary.
  15. I doubt we'd have to use 3 picks in the national. The AFL surely could not have a rule dictating where sides used their picks.
  16. Crouch is an extractor, maybe we knew he'd still be there at 9 and added Tyson as a bonus. Judging from Tysons highlight reel, he is more impressive than anyone in this draft.
  17. It wouldn't be a straight swap, if we were to involve Howe in any deals regarding Shiel, it would be Howe and pick 9 to GWS for Shiel. It's a reasonable trade, not saying we should be looking to get rid of Howe, but to get a guy the quality of Shiel - we'd have to give up a player of some quality, no doubt.
  18. Roos won't sell the vision, he will be about improving on field performance - and results can sell the vision. We've had coaches come in and try and sell the vision - but they lacked in results, I think Roos would rather see results and let them speak for themselves.
  19. Paul Roos isn't reactive anyway. Roos lets his actions speak, it's been evident in his issue with Barry Hall - in which Roos has simply ignored him. To Barry Hall, that says two things - 1. Your Behavior is out of line... 2. It's not tolerated, bye.. Roos Vs Colless, let's just say that Roos won that one hands down without even speaking a word. Roos get's results by his actions, that is exactly why the players will play for him and exactly why he is the best man for the job. We have a list that needs to also take actions to get results.
  20. Clark is better than all those players as a full forward - so perhaps I should've clarified Full Forward. I give you Walker and Kennedy. In fairness to Nick Riewoldt - he does not play your traditional FF role, so it's hard to compare, Riewoldt is absolutely at the top of the tree as far as CHF's go. Pavlich fits in as a CHF/Mid, so I couldn't compare Clark with him. But, you are right about Josh Kennedy, I'd have Clark and Walker just under Kennedy as dominant FF's.
  21. Maybe Roos doesn't believe we are the basket case that everyone else does? Maybe Roos taken the job on believing that he could improve the list fairly quickly in 2014. Judging from an article on Bernie Vince I read during the week, the club believed that we are not as bad as our results - Vince appeared to be on board with that. Why should Roos come out and say temper expectations? F-that, we aim to win and conceding defeat is for those who are happy not to be winners. Roos is changing our culture and we aim to win.
  22. It's not a bad thing that blokes like Tyson, Michie and Vince come in and are expected to gain a spot. This means that Evans will simply have to work hard - as Evans has had to do all his career. Evans looks to have the potential, so combined with his hard work, if Evans can solidify a position in the midfield - we will see the best Evans. It really goes for all the younger brigade trying to establish themselves as midfielders, as our midfield gets better - these youngsters will have to do the same if they want a spot. That is the advantage of bringing in Vince, forget about the pick we given up for him, the benefits outweigh that as players will have to list. It's one position that McKenzie and co will simply have to work much harder if they want their spot. Ross Lyon obviously pushed Crowley to work hard if he wanted a spot in Freo's midfield - and Roos will do the same with the Dees.
  23. That is awesome that everyone is voting St Kilda, we all want an easy kill. I think in 2014 the Dees will be a different outfit.
  24. I think Mitch Clark is the best forward in the competition and I don't just say that because I barrack for the MFC. Up and running, only Taylor Walker comes close.
