  1. Sure does and better still when we've won, Prodigal Son calls it Won Beer. Last year, after the GWS game my wife called to see when I'd be home. Told her I'd be home after Won Beer. She couldn't work out why I got back at 1:30am, obviously she'd misheard me!
  2. Thanks Chippy. Do you think there will be more views if the thread title is changed to FREE BEER ?
  3. The club “strongly believes” the change would encourage more fans of away clubs to attend matches, to “even up the disparity” and clubs would be more likely to make a call to arms for the same reason. When it comes to fans, they've got very little experience to call upon, and it shows.
  4. You're not seriously suggesting that they take responsibility for their actions are you???
  5. Shocking and very upsetting news. Condolences to his family and friends.
  6. Well done biggestred for taking on the responsibility of pricking our collective consience through the use of humour.
  7. "Hird will return a better person" ??? http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/essendon-chairman-says-hird-will-return-a-better-person-20140207-327l8.html
  8. Congratulations to Adam and all those also nominated. Inspirational people.
  9. Some very valid points made from both sides of the arguement re Lingerie Football. What impact could this have on lingerie hurdling? And if they ban Michelle, then yes, by all means sack the Richmond board!!!
  10. Play it safe, tell the driver to keep an eye out for Caro in his/her mirrors!
  11. History prior to the invention of alcohol too dull to write about?
  12. Living in Sydney at the time. Inconsolable, couldn't work effectively on Monday and Tuesday - head buried in hands. On Tuesday evening two of the ladies in the office kindly offered their sympathies, "we're sorry that you broke up with your girlfriend". Which was true, we'd broken up on the previous Friday, my response "oh [censored], yes, we did too, I'd forgotten about that".
  13. Yes, the world is watching... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/10529148/Sports-and-nations-still-in-denial-over-doping-are-the-real-scandal.html
  14. From friends in lower places I believe a hammer smack down onto one of his Sourav Ganguly's would be standard practice. I mix in better circles these days
  15. Hi Biff, I'd argue that what you've highlighted is combination of focus, pattern recognition and decision accuracy. It may feel intuitive because cognition works at a subconscious level. Whatever the process, if it means you are hitting boundaries instead of piddly 2's and 3's then I definately want you as my batting partner!
  16. I have, sometimes used to happen when batting in cricket (wish it happened more often). Sadly, when it came to the more athletic aspects of sport I moved so slowly that all those watching thought they were "in the zone".
  17. On the subject of meditation I was reading the other day about a theory (controversial) of Quantum Consciousness (orchestrated object reduction) being put forward by scientists (Stuart Hameroff in particular) who have done a lot of work with microtubules, small structures found in cells, including neurons. They are suggesting that we experience reality through a series of conscious moments driven by quantum processes at a rate of about 40Hz. Hameroff claims that experienced meditators (and Michael Jordan) run at a higher clock rate so experience more reality per second than the rest of us and why, for Jordan, time seems to slow down when he is in the zone. A controversial theory, interesting to see how it pans out in further research. (do I need to get out more?)
  18. For clarification about the laughing dolphin video and the thread topic, I'm not mocking meditation - believe it will be beneficial, just enjoying the communicating with dolphins comment. So long and thanks for all the fish!
  19. If I hear of any MFC player sitting in the ocean at midnight under a full moon, communicating with the universe with the help of dolphins, then I will know that Mrs. Roos may have taken it all a bit too far.
  20. Shocking news, best wishes for a speedy recovery Dean.
  21. Yes, no nasty ankle injuries thanks. Good luck to young Max, welcome aboard.
  22. Wouldn't be disappointed if we picked him up. That 'booming' kick of his - if played off half-back - would suit Roo's slingshot footy.
  23. I usually book my appointments to see him for the following Tuesday (and then cancel because he's not that useful). On our trading I'd give as an A-, an excellent performance and would be an A+ if we'd been able to engineer a pick upgrade via a fringe player. All in all well done to Josh and the team.
