RIP Robbie Flower - Sad Passing of a True Champion
TRIGON replied to KLV's topic in Melbourne Demons
Sad sad news. For those who never saw him play he was, and will probably remain, the most elegant player to ever grace the game. -
Back on topic. Re Cameron, Roos has called for mids mids and more mids. Given that we just saw Hawthorn smash a team with forward line containing Franklin, Tippet, Reid and Goodes (handy 4th forward), it reinforces the view that building an A Grade midfield first makes more sense.

and then it turns green and d r o p s o f f

As Prodigal Son pointed out to me in a phone call the other day, the off-season is the best time of the year. As Melbourne supporters we get more off-season than most. We are truly blessed!
-
Blease for a second round pick? (relax, it's the silly season)
-
Who wouldn't? The Dederang-Mt Beauty footy ground's a ripper!
-
Agree with stinga's thoughts re the Dane Beams Defection P.S. Does anyone else think that this thread title sounds like the kind of name that a late 60's early 70's pop band would have adopted?

Beams to Brisbane, MC to Collingwood, brisbanes first round pick to Melbourne. (Oh yeah)

Digging for gold - Targetting Under-achievers
TRIGON replied to jabberwocky's topic in Melbourne Demons
Somehow digging for gold in under-achievers brings this song to my mind - hope I'm wrong! -
Pat-Dee Dangerfield...bring it on!
-
Well Redleg when the AFL CEO goes on international equalisation-research junkets with two of the powerhouse clubs CEO's it hardly takes a genius to work out what happens next...

If my better half emerged from her wardrobe with that spiky finger thingy I'd be very very very nervous.
-
SD your suggestion is not in keeping with the spirit of the off-season and internet footy forums - which are not too dissimilar to financial markets trading: buy the rumour, sell the fact!
-
It's highly likely that any trade that may involve Toumpas or Trengove would all be subject to them passing medicals with the AFC and include testing to see that they'd got their speed back. If they haven't got their speed back then they're not worth much at the moment. If they've got their speed back then they're going to be bloody good footballers - especially Trengove - and therefore valuable bargaining chips, if that's indeed what they are?
-
A fine point, well made.
-
Expecting nothing, hoping to be surprised.

Norwood Premiers, win by 4 points

Thanks, seeing reports on other threads that his game wasn't too crash-hot (prior to what I saw).
-
Only saw the last quarter and a half of the VFL Grand Final and thought he played quite well. Any thoughts from Demonlanders who watched the whole game?
-
Just saw a video clip that would make Lindsay Thomas envious: http://www.theroar.com.au/video/?video=3788625029001
-
Well OK, but there's no need to make a song and dance about it.
-
Naturally, he's a cymbal of hope!
-
I think it's more of a squishy and ponderous concept BB

Potential Trades [Warning: Reading this thread may self-destruct]
TRIGON replied to Dr evil's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes, piques my interest too. Would be interested in the opinions of posters who've frequently seen him play. -
Goodoil my understanding of what Peter Jackson has been saying (publicly) is that Roos will have a role with the club after his coaching tenure expires.
