WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - ANGUS BRAYSHAW
CBDees replied to ashdemons22's topic in Melbourne Demons
I agree that Roos is likely to draft Brayshaw but l don't agree that neither him or Petracca are going to impact before 2018/2019; just look at Ollie Wines in his first two years! Also, whilst you have acknowledged that Salem will be twice the player next year than he was this year, the same can be said of Toumpas ( plus we are still to showcase Hogan )! I am hopeful that we can get both Brayshaw and Petracca and l am similarly sure that, by the end of the Trade Period and the Drafts, Roos will have the basis assembled for an effective and structurally sound team! -
Particularly when 2MP is as imposing as Clark, younger and a good kick!
-
Interesting that you have chosen "The Two Metre Peter" thread to state with confidence that we would use pick 3 after Brayshaw to draft McCartin. I think that many on this thread would disagree with you!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - ANGUS BRAYSHAW

With Melbourne FC holding both picks! I like it! -
Goodwin has come out only last week to say categorically that Toumpas is not on the trade table and is part of Melbourne's forward plans!
-
I like the idea of picking him up in the PSD unless we already have someone else in mind (Frost?).
-
With Trengove on their list (and his infamous sling tackle) maybe the Tigers might advance further than the first round of the Finals in 2015?
-
Great footage. It's a shame that that was probably the last time that Chip patted him on the back!
-
Is that really because you are a closet Jarrod Rivers fan (who scored in the top ten in their B&F)?

The AFL website suggests that North are holding out on trading Levi Greenwood to the Pies because they want a lower Round 2 pick than the Pies can offer (30). We have 23 and there is only one pick lower than ours. Thoughts? p.s. Hopefully we get a replacement Round 2 pick from the Cattery in the reputed three Club trade involving Mitch, Varcoe and HL! -

Maybe we can do a trade of pick 12 for Beams in the closing minutes of the draft? -
McCartin may not be the best forward in the draft. For us it may well be two metre Peter ( Wright ), reputedly, he is a deadly accurate kick, good below the knees and has the physical frame to be effective immediately!
-
However we structure things it has to involve a mechanism for delivering HL from Collingwood. Obtaining pick 14 is steak knives in the three way deal if it happened. As long as it doesn't end up seeing MC forced into the PSD after his contract ends on 31/10/2014, in which case everyone misses out!

Jack Trengove re-injures his navicular (2014) - trade deal off
CBDees replied to Wiseblood's topic in Melbourne Demons
Somebody mentioned that we are planning to use pick 12 for Jake Lever. Not that l object to this as a replacement for Chip but what happened to plans for Oscar McDonald or were there none? With all the trading , FS used for Billy and Jetta upgrade, will we have any live picks in the draft apart from 1, 2 & 12? -

The Club squashed that on their website by saying that Toumpas was a required player! -

I don't particularly mind if the deal turns out to be for Dangerfield, Beams or Sheil, l would just rather be trading Grimes before l traded Trenners, especially when the Club we are talking about is Richmond and Jack (Grimes) can join his brother Dylan! Now that would cause happiness all round! -

No we weren't, it will be a three way swap involving the Cats, the Pies and the Dees. -

If we are talking of trading past co-captains, l would rather trade the current one in Grimes to the Tigers so that he can be reunited with his brother! Surely we should see Trenners play a year under Roos after he has had a year off through injury. -

Make it Ollie Wines then so many Demonlanders would need something else to whinge about! -
Brayshaw and either Petracca or Wright seems a pretty good reason to retain our first two picks. Expect Hogan, Trengove and Toumpas all to make an impact next year!
-
According to Emma Quayle, Wright is one of the top forwards/rucks going around, he has good speed, is good below the knees and is dead-eye kicking for goals

I am another who believes that Roos will bring Brayshaw on board. In fact, trades aside, l suspect that Brayshaw is the only player in the draft, that Roos is a lock-in for drafting. -

I wouldn't fuss about the downgrade in the Garlett deal as we were only going to ever use that pick to bring Jetta onto the primary list anyway so we weren''t putting ourselves at a disadvantage!
