Jason Taylor - visionary or overrated
Lots of hits and misses. Perhaps the lack of drafting the next level of midfielder and getting too many small forwards is a current issue. 2024 we must get mids.

"Very sore" Max Gawn in doubt for next Saturday vs Essendon
Gawn out for three weeks keep calm and carry on

CASEY: Rd 15 vs Brisbane Lions
Agreed. Missing the guys like Harmes, Dunstan, Munro who all won the tough contested footy. Unfortunately Hustwaite also now missing for 10 weeks
-
Potential Father Son Prospect Noah Yze
Likely still a rookie draft pick. Hes got some talent but looking at how he fits into an AFL position. Tall half forward possibly to start.

Andy Moniz-Wakefield to Debut

CASEY: Rd 15 vs Brisbane Lions
Jefferson. Yes good development and with a big preseason, could start in round 1 2025. Adams. Development has stalled. Iโm not sure heโs the future KPB that we might have after May retires in a few years. Few Casey players are okay but not the addition to the MFC squad. Loss of Hustwaite and Connolly has robbed Casey of their depth. Surely they delist Hunter and Schache. McAdam is VFL standard. Not worth a promotion. Hore was clearly our best player and is a worth promoting if we have a place available. Lack of quality young mids is OBVIOUS!!! Get Deven Robertson. Heโs good enough for AFL senior teams.

2024 Marsh AFL National Championships
SA is now finished. Wrap up as โฆ Father sons- Tyler Welsh (Crows), Ben Camporeale, Lucas Camporeale (blues) Port Adelaide NGA products โ Benny Barrett from South Adelaide and North Adelaideโs Louie Montgomery. Both could go top 40 or be available for Port โญ๏ธSid Draper - star midfielder. Captain and top 5 draft pick ๐Kade Herbert - impressed in 2023 as an underager. Showed this year he is strong in the contest and can also play outside with good delivery and run in his legs. Some draft posters see him as a 35-45 pick. Iโd have him around 24th/25th pick. โ Phoenix Hargrave - mid/half forward. Likely top 35-40 pick โ Charlie Nicholls - 197cm key forward . Excellent mark Likely pick 45-50 โ Ned Bowman - half fwd skilled creative goalkicker. Likely late draft pick, perhaps 50-55. โ Jett Hasting - SA mid/half back runner SA-eagles - likely late pick or rookie. I like his run and dash and style Type of player that has AFL qualities in my view (like McVee from 2021)

PREGAME: Rd 17 vs West Coast
I think Chandler should be sub this week Lever May McVee Bowey Tmcd Salem Langdon Rivers Windsor Anb JVR Kolt Pickett Fritsch Turner Gawn Oliver Viney Sparrow AMW Woey Melksham SUB. Chandler 1. Please not Woey as Sub. Give him a chance 2. Eagles gave us a bath last time. With virtually their same team yet weโre missing Trac now. 3. Goody. Memo. Tell the players NOT to kick it high in the forward line to Barrass and McGovern, really!!! 4. Man up versus Reid. I mean MAN UP. DONT LET A 19 YEAR OLD KID BULLY YOU!!! FFS 5. a goal in the last quarter โฆ perhaps more. Perhaps 5 or 6!!! JUST WIN IT

Trade Targets
Iโm still casting an eye over team lists. Angus Sheldrick from the Swans in the one. A few injuries has again stalled his season. But in his games last year at the Swans, he showed his high quality. Only 21/22yo and has excellent skills and competitive nature on the contest. Hard to shake loose from the swans but a good contract deal might help. Even if itโs not this year, make sure his manager knows weโre interested in a good start.

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
After the Vic metro v SA under 18 match on the weekend, I will add Murphy Reid to this midfielder list, perhaps looking that he would be around pick 20 or 21. Dees should try to get say the eagles 2nd round 2024 pick to get him โฆ and offer up our MFC next years 2025 first round with other pick swaps too.

2024 Injury List
Good to get more players back and competing for spots. Melksham back is great news. He knows how to kick a goal and accurately too !!! ๐๐๐
-
Trade Targets
Cummingsโ got the skill and competitiveness that would add to our team. He is a good player. However not sure where he plays for MFC as he is a running defender. We have plenty of half backs already. Iโm looking at young mids either through the trade or draft.

Brownlow votes 2024 progress thread
V Brisbane Lions. Given the unfortunate loss, likely itโs 3 Dunkley 2 Pickett 1 McCluggage. JV7 could get a vote as he had another excellent game. Still guys like Daicos, Heeney, Cripps, Bont and Merrett are favourites this year at this stage.

Christian Salem - Elite or Good Ordinary
Salem had a sensational 2021. Otherwise heโs been good. Not very good and not elite. He is good. His disposal is supposed to be elite. Itโs often an up and under rainmaker. His disposal efficiently is 15 metres sideways. I like to see him kick drive the footy longer & lower.

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Absolutely. I think this year has some very good talent down to at least picks 35-40.
-
2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Vic country v WA. Both Harvey Langford and Cooper Hynes had great games and Iโd be happy to have both onboard with MFC next year. They offer good mix of Langford ball winning and skill, and Hynes with competitive Cripps like midfielder (aggressive). Add in with an elite mid like Moraes, Draper or Gross.

Looking at recruiting players that can KICK A GOAL IN THE LAST QUARTER itโs a skill needed in MFC players !!! FFS
