  1. It's not about your brand. You play a team game." @kanecornes is worried that Christian Petracca wants to leave Melbourne for the wrong reasons.
  2. Tim Lamb surely should have been sacked. He had better have a good trade period He has brought in rejects Billings, Schache, Hunter, Fullarton and paid overs for McAdam 1. Don’t touch pick 5 2. get 25 and 42 off crows for ANB 3. no soft players any more !!!
  3. Barely news. Most obvious delisting in the clubs history.
  4. 6. 12 months ago … 31 August 2023 Kate Roffey has penned a letter to Melbourne Members ahead of AFLW Round 1 and the AFL Finals. Dear Members, What an incredibly exciting time for our club. Firstly, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you, our loyal and passionate members. On Monday, we officially cracked the 70,000 membership milestone – so congratulations – I would say Melbourne is now a BIG club! We should all feel an immense sense of pride to belong to the Melbourne Football Club. We are in fantastic shape, and it is your loyalty, spirit and unwavering support that has brought us to this point. Together, we are writing a new chapter in the rich history of our club, and I hope that every single one of you feels incredibly proud to belong to this fabulous club. Tonight, we will witness an historic occasion as we unveil our maiden AFLW premiership flag, having achieved the ultimate success in Season 7 of the AFL Women’s competition. This win in 2022, on the back of our AFL Men’s Premiership in 2021, makes Melbourne the first club in history since the AFLW competition started – to win both a men’s and a women’s flag. Tonight will mark another memorable moment in our club’s history and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible down at IKON Park. I know our AFLW playing group and coaches are incredibly grateful for all the support you have shown, and I encourage all our members and supporters to get behind our women in the red and blue, as they embark on a new season and look to defend our mantle as reigning premiers. For our AFL team, next week will mark a third consecutive AFL Finals appearance. Our aim at the start of the season was to finish in the top four and secure a double chance and the team has now done that three years in a row. Melbourne is the only club that has finished in the top four in each of the past three years and that is a significant achievement. It is a testament to the unwavering dedication and hard work of our players, coaches and staff, who continue to show extraordinary commitment to our club. I’m incredibly excited to join the Demon faithful at the MCG on Thursday night. I know our players want to see and hear our Demon faithful out in force, filling the stands with red and blue as we set ourselves for a challenging, yet exciting, AFL Finals campaign at the MCG. Off the back of their 2022 success, the Casey Demons also start their Premiership defence, securing a spot in the VFL Finals last week. This Saturday, they are set to take the field in a crucial Elimination Final against Footscray. The stakes are high for this game so get down to Box Hill Oval if you can and cheer on our Casey Demons. Off the field, as we prepare to cheer on our mighty teams, I also wanted to provide a Board update. I firstly want to express my gratitude and warmest thanks to both Steve Morris and Mohan Jesudason, who will finish as board directors at the end of the season in line with our recently introduced director term limits. Steve and Mohan have made significant contributions to the club as directors. Both have served as Club Vice President and as Chairs of Board Committees, with Steve chairing our Investment Committee and Mohan chairing the Nominations and Remuneration Committee. They have provided amazing support to the club and retire at the end of their final terms with our heartfelt thanks. I am also pleased to welcome Sarah Robinson and Geoff Porz to the Melbourne Football Club Board. Sarah and Geoff fill the casual vacancies created by Steve and Mohan and have skill sets in the areas of investment and facility development – both identified as critical to us going forward. Sarah Robinson brings to the Board extensive experience as a financial advisor and investment strategist and will be a critical member of our Investment Committee, which has responsibility for guiding our Future Fund investments. Sarah is ranked in the top 100 financial advisors in Australia. Sarah has been a passionate Demons member for over 20 years, and we are thrilled to welcome her. Many of you will be familiar with Geoff Porz, who has deep connections to the club as a 40+ year member, Foundation Legend and founding member of the Inner Sanctum. Geoff brings strong knowledge and experience in property, infrastructure and facility development, having developed assets in excess of $1.4 billion. The skills and experience that Sarah and Geoff add to the Board will strengthen capability in the management of our Future Fund and in progression of our planned Training and Administration facility, both key strategic pillars of our next phase of growth. I would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the work of the staff and Executive team at the club. Under the leadership of our CEO Gary Pert, the club continues to excel off the field and the contribution our staff make, in particular outside of regular working hours on weekends and evenings, is the foundation for success. To every person who works or volunteers at our club – thank you! But for now, our focus shifts to tonight and the coming men’s finals series. A McClelland Trophy and more Premierships are up for grabs. Here's to an extremely exciting period ahead for our great club. I can’t wait to see what we can achieve over the next few months. To every single one of our 70,785 members – thank you for bleeding red and blue. Let’s Go Dees! Kate
  7. Tom Morris again putting it out that Petracca is not satisfied and has demanded to be traded. He wants out. “He is disgruntled, wants to break his contract, and play for a big rival club”. —/—/—-/-:::-:/::::::/:::::://———- this is the same Tom Morris who was SACKED by Fox Footy. Morris was sacked after audio of him making offensive comments about then Fox Sports colleague Megan Barnard was leaked to social media. A second clip featuring homophobic and racist slurs also emerged on social media before Morris was eventually sacked by Fox Footy in March 2022 Morris apologised for his comments at the time, describing them as “disgusting and disgraceful”.
  8. Langford definitely would fit in nicely to our midfield
  9. Petracca wasn’t asked about his playing future, where he has been linked with a move to Collingwood, the club he grew up barracking for, or Carlton. McKay has been linked with an exchange for Petracca, but McKay’s manager David Trotter of Hemisphere Management was emphatic that his client would not be leaving the Blues. McKay is contracted to the Blues until the end of 2030. “There is absolutely no way Harry would consider going to Melbourne,” Trotter told SEN.
  10. Is this how the decision making goes … best of five ?
  11. He was very raw. Delisting was inevitable.
  12. Presumably Kane didn’t have a 5 year contract left to run with channel 9 !!!
  13. He could kick 10 Goals a game in suburban footy. Had the talent. Dedication and desire seemed to be missing.
  14. “Christian will be part of this footy club for the next five years,” Goodwin declared in his post-match press conference. I went to bed on Friday night and slept soundly. Now I feel insomnia creeping back into my life !!!

  16. Buckley 👏👏👏👏
  17. For the record - I hope Trac 💙❤️💙❤️stays. Really hope they sort out his issues and he sorts out his issues. Life’s not perfect. I am not always agreeing with my employers decisions or their work place decor - Trac signed a 7 year contract. You have to think that’s a commitment. Serious $$$ too. Unless there’s breach of contract conditions by MFC, then he should fulfill his commitments - MFC needs to stand firm. We cannot have contracts being torn up and players walking away TRAC - keep the faith 🙏🏽 but if it’s completely toxic and Trac is destroying wider team culture and values … then … what’s the trade price (Trac is 28) 1. JEREMY CAMERON (out of contract - restricted free agent) 27yo Cats got: Cameron as well as two second-round selections Giants got: Picks 13, 15, 20 and a future fourth rounder (Giants matched his free agency). 2. LANCE FRANKLIN (out of contract) 26 yo Hawks: got a first round draft selection as compensation (number 19) 3. GARY ABLETT JNR (out of contract) 26yo Cats received two first-round picks as compensation for losing Ablett to the expansion club. That was probably under weight for his ability
  18. Wacky Wednesday!!! Should be interesting if Trac turns up. I hope he respects his teammates and enjoys the day. Politics aside. All teammates should attend.
  19. I know this gif was banned and I’ve resisted for 2 years … but the thought of trading Trac for DEGOEY no no no
  20. 💙❤️💙❤️we love the Frittata 💙❤️💙❤️ the hair the smooth left foot the forward craft his 2021 premiership heroics 149 games 252 goals but but but he’s got to also do the hard things in footy tackle chase your opponent, really chase don’t guard grass, man up he’s above average in many metrics but really poor in the defensive and 1%s
  21. Reading the media (alert, it’s dangerous) I say NO NO NO to any trade. Trac is actually coming across as selfish and a sook. Now seemingly bagging the club who he played in a premiership for. Wants a “big club”. Wants to play in front of “big crowds”. Doesn’t want to go to Casey (ok, that’s fair). Dees have a massive year ahead. We all love ❤️ 💙Trac💙❤️ But if he doesn’t love us and it’s too too painful, then … we might just say thanks 🏆
  22. Huge question. Firstly speak to Goody to get his thoughts. Listen. Then I’m saying, doesn’t matter who we draft in , the current crop needs to be better. I’m getting the players improving skills over the summer. Running and kicking. Running and kicking. Speed on the footy. Dees were rank 16th for disposal efficiency - ranked 3rd highest in turnovers. Work on contest and clearance too. Not trading pick 5. (Sorry no to any Dan Houston deal). Get picks 25 & 42 for ANB off the crows. Keep 25. Package 42.45,51 & future 4th pick to Suns for pick 20. Have 5, 20,25, 61 in draft ( Three high quality picks 5 Langford/Lalor, 20 Moraes/ Gross/ Hynes, 25 Dattoli/Oliver, and a JT special at 61. Maybe a “best in VFL” at pick 61 as a mature type player to bring in. Also then pickup Noah Yze CAT A father son & Ricky Mentha NGA CAT B in rookie draft ) . Of course the equations all change if the Petracca debacle ends in him leaving.
