  1. No. Ok for a state league but he’s not AFL standard imv.
  2. Pendlebury and Sidebottom. Class. Efficient. Goalkicking under pressure. That’s why they won.
  3. Agree. Efficiency and goal kicking is the key. Frampton perhaps the worst player ever to play in a winning grand final. Ginnivan perhaps the 2nd worst. That’s why John Noble is crying !!!
  4. With the championship now over, here’s some indication of a top 40. 1-10. Harley Reid, Jed Walter (suns academy) , Coby Mckercher, Ryley Sanders, Daniel Curtin, Zane Duursma, Nick Watson, Ethan Read (suns academy), Connor O’Sullivan , Darcy Wilson 11-20 Nate Caddy, Archer Reid, Mitchell Edwards (Freo nga), Jake Rogers (suns academy) , Ollie Murphy, George Stevens, Logan Morris, Caleb Windsor, Nathan Philactides, Riley Hardeman 21-40. Will McCabe (hawks F/son), Koltyn Tholstrup, Koen Sanchez, Charlie Edwards, Jordan Croft (bulldogs f/son) , Archie Roberts, Joel Freijah, Will Dawson, Harry Demattia, Ashton Moir, Clay Hall, Harvey Johnston, Will Graham (Suns academy) , Jack Delean, Will Lorenz, Angus Hastie, Cooper Simpson, Luamon Luai, Arie Schoenmaker, Michael Rudd. others - 40+… Tarkyn O’Leary, Zane Zakostelsky , Will Patton, Caiden Cleary (swans academy), Kade DelaRue, Alex Holt,Jack Callinan, Koby Shipp, Rye Penny, Billy Wilson, Aiden Odriscoll, Tyson Sruk, Harvey Thomas (giants academy). For the Dees, others of interest were: Kynan Brown as a father son (Nathan Brown) - had a very good year as a mid and half back. Won the under 18 Vic metro mvp. He might be anywhere from pick 40 to a rookie. He’s a tough skinny scrapper with a huge heart and tenacity. His skills are ok (left foot dominant) but can have some turnovers under pressure. Orlando Turner is from NT under our NGA academy. Whilst he was largely quiet, gf showed glimpses of brilliance and goalkicking smarts to indicate he might be picked to develop as a small forward. Potential as a Rookie pick. Sam Van Rooyen (brother of Jacob) could be rookie pick as well. He’s tall and lean and watching him v Vic metro , had afew “nearly moments” where we spilled marks or juggled attempts. Very nice kick for goal. Played in WA colts finals and again showed his talent base. He has the base physique of a key forward and it would be good if the Dees gave him an opportunity.
  5. Both GF teams have their pros and cons. No team is ever perfect. Dees not far away. If we execute in the big games, we win. It’s that simple. We might need to get 1-2 top up players but it’s not a huge step.
  6. A few future stars obviously BUT again there’s the compromise of the Father/son and the AFL created academies for giants, swans , suns and the poor struggling lions
  7. Kate is a star ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️❤️❤️❤️
  8. IF ... headquarters thinks throwing round end of first round draft picks likes confetti is going to fix the Roos ... THEN ... it won't. Many clubs are furious with this assistance package, and rightly so. from Damien Barrett. !!!
  9. John Blakey. Yes. Stuart Dew. Yes. Perhaps also look at any recently retired players who might be good to bring in.
  10. the great trade and pick negotiations start soon !!! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
  11. 6 Hore ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 5 Hanks ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 4 West ❤️❤️❤️❤️ 3 Mithen ❤️❤️❤️ 2 Paxman ❤️❤️ 1 Pearce ❤️ apologies to Purcell
  12. Strange move !!! Swans Mids already include Errol Gulden, Callum Mills, James Rowbottom, Luke Parker, Chad Warner, as the starters, and then include Braeden Campbell, Sam Wicks and Justin Mcinerney. Jordon would be depth and start off in their VFL team imv. So he moves for extra game time? Sadly for him, imv probably not !!!
  13. Elite ball users? It seems to be the challenge across our team. Footskills and ability to hit targets or use the corridor are in demand. In this years draft group, there is likely others but my immediate thinking turns to perhaps this group of 10. Harley Reid - yes the number 1. He spots targets and he hits targets. You want him using the footy Colby Mckercher - elite left footer midfielder … enough already said about his talent Ryley Sanders - elite right footed midfielder… enough already said about his talent Archie Roberts - small/med half back with excellent left foot disposal (very high efficiency) Darcy Wilson - highly skilled wingman, very strong on his right or left foot Nathan Philactides - small/med half back with excellent left foot disposal; pace also a good asset Arie Schoenmaker - tall key defender , left footer with highly efficient disposal and excellent decision making Harvey Thomas *GWS academy - small/med half back with excellent left foot disposal Angus Hastie - taller half back with excellent decision making and penetrating kick Tarkyn O’Leary - showed in Dragons GF his ability to hit targets on left or right foot. This may get him a rookie spot if clubs value the efficiency of his ball use.
  14. Ditto Binman. 👏👏👏👏
  15. Thanks PSD. Yes he seemed in the national championships to need more “grippo” on his hands to really clunk his marking. Agree with workrate. Worthy imv of a rookie pick if we have one available.
  16. Vitriol is at the umps. Some very bizarre votes were allocated especially the 3s in same games where the player was not in their teams AFL (website) match summary best 5-6, or even in the coaches votes at all.
  17. Taj made his debut this year. I liked the signs in the limited opportunities. Taj has some run and skills and smarts to make a very good player. Probably an outside mid/wing running player. Hopefully they give him more chances in 2024.
  18. Good discussion point. Mckercher. Sanders. Leake. All top youngsters this year from Tassie. Do you pick them for 4-5 years and then have the confidence to hold them when the Tassie armada sails in.
  19. Lachie Neale. I watch a lot of Lions games and he had a good year but not a Brownlow year. The umps mustn’t know any other lions players. Maybe McCluggage (3 votes) is too hard to spell or it’s too early for Ashcroft. Dunkley (4 votes) had some great games but didn’t poll well by comparison. It’s bizarre. ps. Neale didn’t make All Australian. They must be poor judges of footy.
  20. Will wait until after the trade period to see where the draft picks might land. I am 99% wanting Sanders as our first pick. We want a quality mid, with pace, elite skills and decision making, and yes who can kick goals. From this years group, it’s Reid, Mckercher and Sanders. Given Reid and Mckercher are likely to get drafted before our pick, then it’s Ryley Sanders for me. He would be a great addition (even with the Tassie 2028 future hanging out there).
  21. BEST Sydney: Gulden, Mills, Parker, Warner, McCartin Melbourne: Petracca, Fritsch, Viney, May, Brayshaw umps!!!
  22. Agree. Hunter. Lots of nothing possessions. Fritsch played 5 minutes in the last quarter. Trac carried us over the line in BOTH games
  23. Round 6. lions v giants Best. Brisbane: Cameron, McInerney, Payne, Rich, Dunkley. 3 votes L Neale !!! 20 possessions. 150 metres gained.
  24. Trac Trac Trac. It’s on. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
