  1. Bump this thread. Tim Lamb … time to start your redemption!!! Peatling would be an excellent addition. Deserves a good 3-4 year contract at least. His pace and run and tackling would add to our midfield.

He grew up in Shepparton before accepting a scholarship to attend Scotch College in Melbourne. He was drafted by Gold Coast with their third selection and ninth overall in the 2016 national draft. Brodie played 24 games for Gold Coast across 5 years as he struggled to get ahead of other younger midfielders. Following the 2021 AFL season, Brodie was traded to Fremantle. Brodie played every game of the 2022 season a career best and established himself as an important part of Fremantle's midfield. He finished the season eleventh in the league for total disposals tallying 607 across 22 games. In 2023 and 2024, despite dominating at WAFL competition, he had limited opportunities into the Freo AFL team with Young, Serong, Brayshaw and Omeara preferred. With Worner & Erasmus coming through, Brodie will likely be squeezed out. Brodie presents as the classic Moneyball trade pickup. He will cost a ā€œfuture 5th roundā€ and be a reasonable salary contract. But he can step in and play immediately. At 189cms, he has the physical ability in the contest and skills to deliver. He has good contested possessions numbers all through his career. Definitely one to consider in the off season period.
  3. @Demonland can we change this title of the Thread. It’s too confronting. Maybe change to Viney looking to stay at Dees … in order to save my blood pressure
  4. Actually saw a real human in Simon Goodwin in today’s press conference. Open and honest and clear discussion. It was refreshing. Clearly admits there is frustration. Clearly admits that scoring is a problem. Clearly admits that everyone is accountable and involved in improvement. Much better than the standard BS and corporate speak of prior weeks.

  6. Only seen him a few times. But it’s a Yes from me. He bought Giants back into contest v Lions. Won 4 of 5 centre clearances. Has the pace and skill and intensity to really make a difference. Disposal efficiency high. Tackling is a strength. Interested to see if we could put a 4 year deal on offer.
  7. Excellent press conference today. Goodwin showed honesty and reflection. Clearly there’s frustration in the way the season has gone. The loss of Brayshaw , injury to Trac and the decline of Oliver have really hurt us. He explained the ANB decision and as much as he could about the personal circumstances.
  8. DEES NEED TO KEEP FIRST ROUND PICK (probably around pick 5 or 6 now) AND GET ONE OF EITHER XAVIER LINDSAYāļø HARVEY LANGFORD āļø SAM LALOR āļø
  9. Should have got his hand sorted out earlier another wtf moment it’s all under control at MFC 🤬
  10. We need Goody to stay. Someone has to stay !!!
  11. Cals top 30 updated Harvey Langford at 3 āļø Sam Lalor at 9 šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘ Xavier Lindsay at 16 bargain Christian Moraes at 25 bargain Tom Gross at 26 bargain https://www.afl.com.au/news/1195410
  12. @seventyfour great ideas. Need something to rev up the last game. It’s not a finals type atmosphere that we’d all hoped for. Expect 50,000 crowd given both teams probably out of finals contention
  13. Love the NIBBLER ā¤ļøšŸ’™šŸ† but we have to move on Too early ?? option 1 ANB to Crows Crows 2nd round to Gold Coast Jack Lukosius to Dees option 2 ANB to Crows Crows 2nd round to dees option 3 deal with Port … part of a Houston move ?
  14. Agreed. Brodie would be a good addition. Freo preseason preview Brodie only played five games in the senior side in 2023, missing parts of the season due to an ankle injury. The midfielder has put together a strong pre-season, consistently matching up against other bonafide midfielders and will look to slot himself back into the starting 22 in 2024.

We took Hunter. 🤮 Macrae is the next similar type. we shouldn’t do Dogs a favour !!! Game is faster now and he’s lost the edge. I’d pass. There is quality kids in the draft to get !!!
  16. Updated Retire: Brayshaw (medical) B.Brown, Melksham, McDonald, Hunter Delist: Schache, JS29, Tomlinson, Sestan, Farris-White Trade: ANB šŸ’” (crows 2nd round pick) *upgrade : Moniz-Wakefield ** thats 10 list spots available ** rookies: Hore, Kentfield, KBrown, Verrall Stuck with existing poor list management …Contracted until end 25: Spargo. Billings. Contracted until end 26: Laurie, McAdam. None were deserving of such deals. (Tim Lamb 🤯) ————————————————— Aim to bring in 1. Free agent priority : Isaac Cumming - skilled half back 2. Find a mature plan B ruckman to support Gawn 3. Trade in tall key defender (cover loss of Tmcd or Tomlinson) 4. get mature midfielder - Will Brodie from Freo (would cost future 5th rounder!!) adds immediately to our midfield National Draft. Let JT weave his magic. (5 picks likely) 1st round - either Xavier Lindsay🌟/Harvey Langford🌟/Sam Lalor🌟 early 2nd round (circa pick 25 - Crows pick) Cooper Hynes/Jobe Shanahan/ Taj Hotton/Christian Moraes Late 2nd round: (circa pick 40 - Swans pick) some potential names who might be available: Kade Gerryn , Hamish Davis , Lachie Jacques, Zak Johnson, Kade Herbert. Youngsters who could be bargains at a 3rd/4th round pick 50 ish : Jack Ough, Patrick Retschko, Cody Anderson , Oliver Depaoli-Kubank, Zane Cochrane, Bailey McKenzie, Jaxon Artemis, Keighton Matofai-Forbes. ———————————————- Add as a Rookie: father son Noah Yze Add Cat B rookie: Ricky Mentha
  17. Family first. We understand. It’s sad to see him go. He’s been a permanent member of the team for so long. 175 games. 10 years. PremiershipšŸ†. Nibbler was excellent on and off field. Spoke to him at several functions and he’s genuinely a really nice guy. Must have taken a lot of courage to make this call. We wish him and the family all the very best. Thanks Nibbler šŸ†šŸ’™ā¤ļø
  18. Really sad to see the Nibbler go Quality player Quality guy probably having his best year elite stats 175 games so far 10 years. Just qualifying for life member 2021 premiership šŸ†
  19. Now back to the serious stuff Kid absolutely smashing it in the under 18s Jack Ough from Rebels , a country lad now at Ballarat - boards at St.Patrick’s college which is a traditional breeding ground for AFL footballers 194cms tall mid / Good pace and inside game as well / not quite Bont but similar size only turns 18 in December got invite to Nationals combine so clubs are seriously interested Really jumping up recruiting lists this draft is a good one imv
  20. Surely it’s Will Brodie for a future 5th round pick. Freo owe us a favour !!!
  21. I get amazed by the hawks players physically showing the too high or dropping the ball signs and somehow they seem to convince the umpire. Maybe it’s the suggestive behaviour theory. Less verbal. More directive movements.
  22. @dazzledavey36 agree with Finn Callaghan. He’s a star. Wait and then throw the whole piggy back at him !! Ps. Make sure we don’t mention anything about Casey training facilities.
  23. Gary Pert. Thank you šŸ‘šŸ‘
  24. Lever and Hore followed the team rules. If you 60-70 metres out from goal. Kick it sideways or preferably backwards to a more dangerous situation and create a turnover. Dont lower your eyes and hit a target.
