PREGAME: Rd 19 vs Fremantle
Billings back in. Hmmmm Hasn’t shown really anything when he has played. Lucky to be back in. Skills poor. Goalkicking poor. Tackling non existent. Laurie contracted though to end 2026 for some reason. Looks to slow and uncontested for AFL midfield role and we have plenty of small forwards already. He’s a VFL standard player. Tholstrup is the future. He’s going to be very very good.

Jack Viney - Legend
JV7. He’s a legend. Definitely!!! One of our greatest ever players. Probably the toughest Demon ever. He and Barassi31 probably on level ranking for toughest ever.

Wildcard Weekend
It’s the same concept in practice as the NBA PLAYOFFS
-
Wildcard Weekend
Worst concept floated in a long time It’s just trying to copy the NBA (USA basketball model). Nothing like innovation through trying to copy the USA!!! Leave the current finals as is …

Tom Fullarton - back up ruck?
Dees will need to have Fullarton this week. Darcy and Jackson will destroy us. Hoping he debuts in the west.

Part 6: Jason Taylor - Visionary or Over-rated - 2018
Agreed. 6/10 in the draft. I had Will Hamill (Crows) and Bailey Williams (Eagles) as highly rated youngsters , both from the Dandenong Stingrays. Hamill has suffered injury concerns yet shown his ability when fit. Williams is developing into a good young ruckman now. Not surprised we picked Sparrow but was when we called out JJ.

Gold Coast tickets
I’d suggest calling the club to see what and when tickets are available.

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Agree. I think Dees will a) try to use the two third round picks in a package points type deal to push up and get another pick in the 2nd round. b) trade out the 2025 future 1st round to get a 2024 first round. Maybe with the Suns who have a few picks to attract. Aim is to look to get access to 2 x high quality mids such as Lindsay and Moraes.

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
I agree. I think he’s a very good player and would be drafted around pick 15-20 if available. Maybe the Blues are watering down the expectations and the points they will need to use.

Issac Cumming
It’s a YES from me. Excellent skills and has pace and run. Would add to our team and allow Riv to move more into the midfielder role.

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Xavier Lindsay. Captain of Gippsland. Think Josh Kelly style. Class and skill and footy IQ. He is as good as any of the top 5 players. Can hit a target or kick it 50+. Good on the tackle. He’s one player that I am sure JT would be marking in bold and highlighting. Patrick Retschko. Think Hugh McCluggage style. He plays half back or midfield and has excellent decision making and skills. Can play defensive role as well. See AFL quality in his style. Archer Day-Wicks. Takes the game on and likes to run. Saw him take good aerial contest to make him more dangerous across half forward. Excellent skills, quality left footer and kicks a nice goal. Keighton Matofai-Forbes. Captain of Western Jets. Plays like Mitchito Owens. Forward utility with an aggressive style of play. Left footer with booming kick and determined at the contest. whilst I think we might look at taller players like Noah Mraz or Kayle Gerryn as other draft options.

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
I know there will be shifts and trades and moves and swaps and twisting and turns before picks are finalised. But I tried to rank players and look at current ladder positions. Here is run number 1 up to 50 live picks excluding the academy and father sons.

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Xavier Lindsay ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ absolutely starred in the finale for Vic Country. Plays like ? Josh Kelly. He’s good in the inside and tackles well. He can run and spread and use his elite left foot for passes or kicks 50+ metres.

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
It’s a quirky list. Lots of strong top 30 players left out !!!! SA trio of the Camporeale twins (Carlton F-S) and Welsh (Adelaide F-S) are all genuinely top 30.

Judd McVee - Future Melbourne Champion
Definitely getting Brownlow votes v bombers. McVee has the footy IQ, skill and competitive edge to even improve more. A rookie gem. JT 👏👏👏👏

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Agree. Crows in line to get Draper and he’s a future star. Crows 1st pick would be off limits imv anyway I think we need to keep Petty. Premiership defender. Can play forward or back. Reset his confidence and he’s a star.

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
He will be an interesting one to watch. Showed glimpses in the championships amongst tough opponents. Expect late draft pick or rookie in my view.

2024 Marsh AFL National Championships
WA wrap up A weaker WA under 18 squad this year. I think only 3-4 youngsters will get drafted in the main draft , perhaps with a few through the rookie draft where identified. ⭐️Bo Allan. I only saw him in the game v He just has a footy IQ to get the right space and position. Good skills and size for a midfielder. His energy and transition running will see him strongly considered. Expect him to go pick 19-22 as early 2nd round pick 👏Luke Urquart. Big blonde bulldozer of a midfielder. Like a Cripps type, he goes into the contest and wins the footy. Skills were okay but let him down on occasion. He should be drafted but likely will be a pick in the 40s. ✅Malakai Champion. He’s exciting no doubt. But I was expecting more and he’s not a top 50 player for me. Late draft or rookie chances. ✅Cody Angove. Project type. Exciting runner and pace on the footy. Likely late draft pick as his skill is up to AFL quality which gives him a chance. Could a side take a chance

2024 Marsh AFL National Championships
This draft is very strong and I’d like to see the Dees find room for 4 or even perhaps 5 draft picks this year. … @Whispering_Jack Langford is definitely a player that would be on JTs list. There is a lot of quality midfielders going down to picks in the second round and even early third round. I’ll look to do a top 50 by next weekend. I’d even by open to trade our 2025 1st round to get another 2024 first round pick. I’d call the GC suns to discuss.

My 3 word player analysis V Essendon
Yes he didn’t star but did what was needed. Improvement still to be seen and he has a key role over the next 6 games.
