2020 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Jack Carroll is one of the best youngsters out of WA and comes from East Fremantle. Played with Jackson and Rivers last year. Would be great to see the Dees snatch him with a pick around #20-22. (Hoping Hawks stay in 16th place as we got their 2nd round pick this 2020 draft). Carroll is a classy midfielder and would fit nicely on the other wing opposite Langdon.

The 2020 Trade Period
trade Neal-Bullen for Crows 3rd round 2020 pick trade Joel Smith and Crows 3rd 2020 pick for Polec and Kangas 3rd 2021 pick

The 2020 Trade Period
Agree. Hunter for Joel Smith is a win win. I think Smith will ask for a trade and Kangas, Dogs or Hawks might be likely suitors.
-
The 2020 Trade Period
Yes agree. They will offer a 5 year deal worth about $800k a year. Jack is now 26 so in his prime. Crows will be desperate. Dees have to match it imo.

Four Injured Horsemen
Petty showed plenty and we should look to get him right for 2021. This year is a bust. Hore is a player. Behind Lever but very handy 3rd tallish defender. Neitscke has been horribly unlucky. Two knee reconstructions. Like to see what he can do if and when fit. Hope we hold him and honour the pledge. Kk - yes his health and ongoing wellbeing is the priority. Serious issues from multiple concussions. He had big potential but should retire at end of 2020.

ALL AUSTRALIAN SIDE
Yes Cripps has not been great. Media hype. Oliver beat him and yet because Cripps kicked a goal late in the game, they thought he played well. Oliver is the equal or better than Boak, Cripps, Steele, etc. It depends on where we finish. Finish in the top 5-6 and we’d get Trac,Oliver and Gawn in.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
Preuss is a beast.

Round 12 Unsung Hero: Christian Salem
Salem has a good game v Pies. I wouldn’t say he was in our best 7-8 but did what he had to do. Stats can be deceiving sometimes. In the last quarter, he had 8 kicks and 6 marks. Five of those kicks and marks were in the final 3 minutes when he and Hibbo and May chipped it to each other from side to side aka soccer defenders.

Fixture 2020 (COVID Edition)
What match is on tomorrow night? I could not see any match list. Wtf. I want daily footy. It’s been a beautiful thing !!! ????

Scratch Match vs Pies (14/8/20)
Yes Baker has 2021 under contract but it’s no guarantee. I’d like to see get a run and I’d take him to FNQ to play either Freo or Swans. His pace will be handy.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARRISON PETTY
Agreed Petty is likely as a CHB or CHF. I’d like at CHB with Lever back to a 3rd tall intercept type defender.

THE RUN HOME 2020
I love it

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - TOM SPARROW
Agree - I worry that Sparrow might get starved for opportunities and walk. Ultimately we might need to refocus Jason Taylor. We need pace and outside run. Look how much Langdon has added. I think we will need to evaluate after playing Dogs and Saints how we go with outside midfield pace.

Demons in Top 4?
We should win at least 4 of the last 6 games. That means 10 wins 7 losses. Our percentage is good do if we lose, it cannot be blow outs. 10-7 should get us 6th or 7th. If we finish 11-6 that’s good enough for 5th/6th. If we finish 12-5 that’s good enough for Top 4.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - TOM SPARROW
Tom Sparrow has fitted in nicely. Gradually getting some centre square rotations albeit limited. He has played a good last 3 weeks since being promoted and whilst not huge possessions, he does the right things. His goal v Kangas and again last night his lead and mark and goal v Pies were indicative of his talent. Reminds me of a young Todd Viney in size, pace and thirst for the contest. Really concerned to see on AFL website that he was listed as a possible Crows target. He is ideally an inside mid but we are stacked for this role with Trac, Clarry, Gus, Viney and Harmes. Crows might try to snag him with $$ and a 3-4 year deal.

Sam Weideman
Weid was weak at contests and sucked under the footy in marking contests For 90% of the game last night he was asking for the footy and judging his marking run better. 5 marks. Only 6 kicks and two goals but he was a target and forced the Pies to spoil which setup chances for Spargo and Pickett. Imo he beat Darcy Moore who has been in excellent year for the pies.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
Yes Preuss has a great game. I gave him a vote (6 to 1) as 6th best because he competed all night, negated Grundy, had 24 hit outs , was cramping and sore in the calf in the 3rd quarter but pushed on. He was getting better as the game went on. Took two very good contested marks. Tackled well. In the end nearly snagged a goal but the siren sounded as Fritsch was passing to him. Really good game from the beast ???????? Absolute luxury having him as a backup.

Will Petracca Feel Brownlow Love?
Petracca should get votes again for the Pies game. It depends on whether it’s him or Oliver with the 3 votes. Gil mc will of course build up the tension as Trac and Oliver get votes “ Melbourne. C ... “. (Petracca or Oliver)

My 3 word player analysis v Collingwood
Agree but has a role to play. It’s not on the wing. Can fit in at CHB imo
- POSTGAME: Rd 12 vs Collingwood

Jay Lockhart
I liked this bloke when he arrived at Casey. No nonsense but delivered the footy. Good at 1%s. Played strong footy in the back pocket in 2018 before moving into a midfield role. Thought it was a good move and a reward for Jay when we signed him up. He had an okay 2019 in a tough year for the club. He has the courage needed for a back pocket. Good pace. Good tackle. Good 2nd efforts. Good skill. Intensity to play on small forwards. Tonight he played well. But yes he needs better boots as he slipped over twice at crucial times.
-
My 3 word player analysis v Collingwood
I agree with all except Jones. He had a good game. Effective with the footy. Tackled hard. Noble and Daicos won’t be saying he is slow.
-
My 3 word player analysis v Collingwood
Agree. Lever was average. Good spoils. One good mark. One missed tackle. Two bad turnovers that cost goals. Had a good last 3 weeks but today was “not his best”

CHANGES: Rd 13 vs Bulldogs
Harmes struggles and needs a break. Definitely not a half back I’d prefer Rivers. Jonesy did everything he could and will definitely stay in. Tackled. Chased. Hit targets. Kozzzy looked dangerous but did a lot of fumbles and overran the footy on countless occasions. I’d be tempted to rest him and bring in Bedford. Obviously if Gawn is fit, he replaces Preuss. Tommy mcd was average. Slow plodder. But stays in as a relief ruck. Tomlinson was okay. Serviceable. Lever did some real clangers with the footy (handball to Grundy and a pies goal was a shocker ) but defensively was pretty good. outs. Pickett. Harmes. Preuss. In. Bedford Rivers Gawn Lockhart. May. Lever. Salem. Tomlinson. Hibberd Langdon. Viney. Brayshaw. Melksham. Tmcd. Vandenburg Bedford. Weideman. Fritsch. Gawn. Petracca ⭐️Oliver⭐️ Int. Sparrow Spargo Jones Rivers
