On the fringes , he pushed up to get a few reserves games. His testing at the State Combine are impressive. 2.98secs for 20 metre sprint (2nd place) and 6m38s for 2km time trial. He is 184cms but only weights in at 74 kgs. Needs two preseasons in the gym but is a possible late pick or rookie pick. I think he would be a handy pick given his skills and pace.

Cats were poor. Very poor. best - Dangerfield, Tom Stewart , Parfitt, Stanley, Tuohy the rest were lost disgraced - Rohan, Dahlhaus, Miers ineffective - Ablett, Selwood, Guthrie, Duncan. Agree. I watched 4-5 Hawks games and Frost was definitely more composed with the footy. Still good 1 on 1 and his pace was useful. As an aside Frawley looks done. He was a battler in 2020. Next year will probably be his finish.

Alex Witherden must be a prime target. I don’t think he will get a look in for the Lions finals team. For some reason , Fagan has left him out and seemingly he is available for offers. Dees could look at the Preuss trade pick being passed to the Lions for Witherden. Perhaps GWS pick 37 to Dees and then MFC trades it to Lions for Witherden.

I agree I would look to keep and I think he can be a handy player with his versatility. However he is not best 22 and ranks around 24-26. If injuries occur, he fits in as a handy player as cover. But it depends on whether he wants more games and game time. I’m sure the Crows might offer a best 22 spot for him and his hometown may be an atttactive option. A pick around 40-45 would be likely. Maybe we could get a future 2nd round pick. We have him under contract so should hold the bargaining power.

Somehow the needs to be someone to watch him and guide him. It’s a huge worry that he was off the alcohol but like many, has regressed to a destructive state in a matter of days. Clearly needs ongoing help. Hope the club welfare can assist and try to connect to help him.

ANB probably is looking at more games and minutes than what we can offer. I agree he is not best 22 (probably 24-26) but represents excellent cover as he showed this year. The suspension and short year did impact his effectiveness. “Useful” is his rating ! If the Crows call, it probably is fair to grab pick 44 but he is contracted so I’m okay if we decide to retain him.

Phillips represents much better value than Polec. He is a left footer, kicking efficiency is good and has the ability to run plus ability to get the footy. He is cheaper both in terms of $$ and trade pick.
