I’m looking at Tom Phillips as the most likely gettable option. Age 24. Experienced. 90 games. 44 goals. Left foot wing. Fits straight in. Reasonable price in $ and trade. Offer 3 years which Pies wouldn’t. Offer our future 2021 2nd round pick.

Absolutely Nooooooooooooo to any of these blokes

I’m throwing the kitchen sink at Hunter. He has strong ties to Dogs through his Dad (father-son Pick) but if we offered a 5-year deal, his manager might take the call and get a response. 200-1 chance but you can only ask the question !!!

I agree Savage is easier to get and a lot cheaper. Saints might consider an early pick 66 type deal which is really just a nice way to exit a delisted player. Maybe swap OMc for Savage.
-
no because I think he would cost to much in terms of $$$$$ and compensation in picks/players. He’s ok but not the fast wingman type we should use our $ to be chasing.
-
Just to clarify. I hate all the other clubs. But there are degrees of hate. I hate the Suns the least.
-
Cats in this form can beat anyone. But Pies are not even competitive to win the contested footy. Cats beating them at clearances 20-8.

Could be interested depending on his $$ asked for. Savage was ok v tigers and knows how to kick a goal. But we have a few of his type do not a priority!

Dees get Ben Brown + Kangas 2021 3rd round pick NMFC get Dees pick 23 + Dees 2021 2nd round pick Fair deal. He’s not worth more given his 2020. Take it or fu&@$)&&ff kangas -
Suns, Saints and Blues were into Watts through 2015 and Hawks in the 2016 post season. He stayed loyal. Says more than fuc@&&))ts like Scully who walked out as soon as he could.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL

Agree. It’s a sad story. He needs help and support. -
Tmcd - your call. Big preseason to get into shape and get strong and agile. Eye of the tiger or f-off and take your big $$ elsewhere He got the big $ contract. Needs to earn it

Jack Watts - what a lad? Still a young bloke who enjoys life. He never had the steel to take his game to the top level. Always thought footy was secondary. Jack loves golf and hanging out with family and friends. And mostly his mates from school and footy. He was a good player. That’s not to be questioned. His goalkicking was elite. He had such talent. Perhaps unfulfilled certainly. He is welcome back at Demonville any day. Perhaps a future MC for club events.

Absolutely. Makes complete sense and helps consider oversight to Mahoney and Goodwin. Brad Green is a quality person and a good football man.

2020 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
spirit of norm smith replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Ollie Lord trained with the Dees and from what I saw in 2-3 sessions, and the Futures game last year, he reminded me of a young Tom Hawkins. But I would have liked to see more games to see if he was able to “get the footy more”. Probably a good draft pick in 60s or a rookie. Wouldn’t be disappointed to see him on board the Demons train but like all key positions youngsters, we’d have to be patient with development. -

Tom Phillips - Outside Skills and Speed

Phillips is gettable. Dream on if you think the Pies will trade Mihocek. -
Recruiting Isaac Smith might be similar to Lewis, Hodge, Birchall type recruitment. Get him in on ability but he also brings knowledge on how to win and how to succeed. Should be an on field leader or at least a player that lifts others up.

It’s a corporate message. But it still was very worthwhile to communicate and shows the members that the club is doing something. Deep dive. Every club undertakes a post season post mortum. I agree that the coaching ranks should thin out as a result.
-
MFC might put a phone call to the Cats next week to ask what Nakia Cockatoo might be worth. We might be a chance for him to get a change of scenery. Of course his manager will need to be involved and Burgo and our MFC doctor will have to check him out.

Tom Phillips - Outside Skills and Speed

Clearly Phillips should be a real option. The Pies will get squeezed in their cap. They need to find $$$ to retain other players. Offer him a 3year deal and see if the manager bites. -
