Highlight of the footy calendar. No. It’s definitely not. It’s another sad day and year that we count to say it’s 56 years since we won a flag. Now the longest drought of the AFL clubs. We see others celebrate and this year, have two clubs with multiple recent premierships. It sucks !!!!! Surely the Demons (and Saints) supporters deserve the chance to experience Premiership glory. One thing to always take from the grand final is the players that succeed in grand finals. They are not soft, light footballers. It’s the blokes who love the game. They lift. There’s no rebuild garbage left. It’s now. It’s 2021. It’s no excuses. It’s running through brick walls. Bring 100% intensity or get out.

Trade Harmes ? no no no and no Loves the footy club Just play him in the right position. Defensive midfielder or as a half forward (he’s a good mark and ok kick for goal)
-
Bank on a lions or power player. The rest will be well into the off season mode.
-
Pick 74 from the Crows would get it done for Oscar. And we would Pass on that pick and not use it.
-
Yes KK would be inactive and immediately replaced on the list by a rookie eg Lockhart for them to play

2020 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
spirit of norm smith replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
From another post, if JT had to turn sliders into diamonds, I’d go for #47-52 Rhyan Mansell, 20 yo running wing half forward from Tassie, SANFL WWT Eagles in 2020 #60s Patrick Walker 18yo (Tassie) yes another Tassie boy who showed in TSL senior footy - good composure and excellent skills, 188cms size. # 60s Ollie Lord , 18yo-(Sandringham) - project key forward. Trained with Dees over the summer and has makings of a AFL key forward 60s Will Bravo 18 yo (Dandenong) from the Stingrays footy factory, showed as an underager in 2019, his excellent goal kicking and pace and energy to forward group -

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
spirit of norm smith replied to Dee tention's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think Brown comes in if Tmc goes out. That’s where the $$$ come from imv -
Assume primary list reduces from 44 to 42 , with Bradtke additional and retained as a Cat-B rookie outs. Cwagner JWagner Dunkley Bennell and probably Chandler Trade Outs. Tmc, OMc, Hannan, Preuss Retain KK (on list but paid out for 2021 season) Jones Jetta Nietschke moves to rookie list Trade ins. Ben Brown, Isaac Smith, Tom Phillips, Quinton Narkle Retain 3 draft picks.

2021 A Demons premiership and A covid-19 vaccine BRING IT ON
-
Mitch Georgiades. Tim Membrey. Shaun Mckernan. Jack Darling. The list goes on of blokes that made Oscar look decidedly 2nd rate. imv the club will look to offload Oscar to anyone who’s interested and maybe get a pick in the 60s or 70s or just delist. But it’s just imv
-
I still think Macrae is top 12-15. He should go before our current pick but obviously the trade period may throw up a lot of pick changes.
-
If we can make Nev a lifelong Demon, it will be great news. I would have absolutely hated to see him in the filthy black and white jumper. Memo to Mahoney... Jetta should stay a Demon.
-
Cats will probably lose Gazza and Taylor. But more $$$ likely even in existing contracts for Parfitt, Guthrie, Stewart, Duncan, Menegola, etc. who all would jump to extra $$$ even in existing deals. Adding Higgins and Cameron won’t be cheap. That’s an extra $1.3M I recall Gazza said he was back at the Cats on the average players wage and that’s how they just fitted him back in in 2019. Tim Kelly wasn’t on big $$$ either last year so that didn’t free up much I’d like to check the maths. It does not smell right imv.
-
Exactly. It’s ridiculous when I look through the $$ the Cats must be paying !!
-
-
If u agree, then have a look at 60 other games where he was poor. Let’s agree that Oscar should be traded out as a mercy rule for all Dees supporters.
-
Definitely out. Hannan. Preuss. Probably out. Tmc. Omc. Potentially in. Ben Brown Should be getting in. Witherden. Phillips. Narkle.
-
Yes. I’m not keen. Pass.
-
Mitch. Thanks for the memories. Time to say goodbye !!!

the intangible that’s not measured in stats is INTENSITY. That’s what was lacking with Watts, Hogan, Toumpas. All good players but the intense desire to drive yourself, get better, work hard and then work hard again. I look for that quality and then surround it with the other stats. Wines had intensity and was the DL 90% choice so it remains very disappointing. That’s why I don’t rate players like Eric Hipwood. Great athlete but poor intensity at the contest. I rate Charlie Dixon. He brings it every week.

Still got Matt Whelan and Steven May as positive influence for young indigenous boys

Surely the Dees are calling the Cats as soon as they can after the Grand Final. The kid can play and needs a new start !
