GAMEDAY: Rd 22 vs Carlton
On watch tonight - Sparrow, ANB, Melksham & Spargo. You have to deliver. Passengers last week and we need goals. All these blokes should be able to contribute at least 5-6 goal’s amongst themselves.

CASEY: Rd 21 vs Carlton
AMW, Bedford & Chandler are all being “managed”. Especially given they also had a bye last week. That’s no footy considering Chandler should be on the fringe of senior selection. With a full list aside from Tmcd, Dees have 19 listed players to play in VFL. I think we have played max.16 AFL listed and kept 7 spots for the VFL listed guys. (not sure if there is a max rule for AFL aligned clubs).

Farewell Brodie Grundy
and after due consideration, it’s still a No from me. Grundy is physically very fragile and offers very little as a forward. For the $$$, it’s not where we need to invest. We need a strong marking KPF to kick the goals. Lynch,Hawkins, Curnow,Franklin, Bking, Naughton, Walker, JoshKennedy, Darling,Daniher type key forward. Weid is not the answer. BBrown is playing with an ongoing knee issue and has 12 mths left imv. Tmcd has 1-2 years left at best. JVR will progress but need another.

CASEY: Rd 21 vs Carlton
Love big Jake Spencer. Interesting to see him running around at Casey. He is one of the friendliest blokes ever at the club. Always willing to have a chat and a photo with the kids. Great to see him recently with his own young family. He’s the sort of bloke you want around a footy club. He’ll look after the young blokes if there’s a bit of physical stuff thrown around too.

GAMEDAY: Rd 22 vs Carlton
My friend Peter “Johnno”’Johnson (an arrogant Blues supporter) reckons they have our measure and guys like Saad and Walsh will expose our zone. He thinks Curnow and McKay will be too much for Dees. Bring it on. I do wish we had a strong marking “figurehead” key forward like Neita in the line up. Our multiple entries seem to go wasted a lot of the time.

NON-MFC: Round 22, 2022
Simply Max King lost it for the saints. 0.5. Lost confidence? His technique was flawed. Leaning back. Too casual. Heartbreaking for their supporters. I was even getting angry at how simple shots were missed. Professional full time footballers (athletes) paid big $$$ to kick a footy 25 metres through two wooden sticks. And they can’t. Ffs.

perhaps they would view this also as a contest and incidental contact … ffs

Patrick Cripps FREE to play
IT WAS A BUMP. IT WAS NOT A CONTEST. I SAW IT LIVE AND IF WAS A BUMP. I WATCHED IT ABOUT THIRTY TIMES ON REPLAY IT WAS ALWAYS A BUMP. PROTECT THE PLAYER GOING FOR THE BALL PROTECT THE HEAD A DUTY OF CARE YES THESE ARE THE STATEMENTS USED TO CONVICT OTHERS FFS I FIND THE BELOW UNBELIEVABLE AND ERODES ANY CONFIDENCE IN THE DECISION OF THE JUDICIARY OR IN THE INTERPRETATION OF THE GAME Kellam said after he and jurors Richard Loveridge and Stephen Jurica viewed the footage, they believed Cripps did not bump and was merely contesting the ball. "The video did not reveal a bump, it set out as a contest for the ball that resulted in a collision," Kellam said

Hatred for Collingwood!
What’s he supposed to do? Contest the footy is the answer. Not jump in the air and contact the head !!! . It was a low act that deserved punishment. Now he is a “clean skin”. Really!!! Still in Brownlow contention. Ffs

Wow. So I’d contest every tribunal decision on the basis of law and presumption and reasonable doubt and inference and habeas corpus and estoppel. Whatever technical legal process to effect a technical ruling and infect the judgement.

Kellam said after he and jurors Richard Loveridge and Stephen Jurica viewed the footage, they believed Cripps did not bump and was merely contesting the ball. "The video did not reveal a bump, it set out as a contest for the ball that resulted in a collision," Kellam said The findings were unreasonable and did not comply with the requirements of procedural fairness." Cripps' counsel, Christopher Townshend QC, argued there was "a denial of natural justice" because Tribunal chairperson Jeff Gleeson had not directed the jury before they retired to give a verdict. He said the notion of a bump was a thesis thrown up by Gleeson, never explored, and never directed to his jury members. The Appeals Board agreed. "The findings the Tribunal came up with behind closed doors is they came up with two things at once (that it was a contest and that he chose to bump). It should have required some directions," Townshend said.

now I’m about to boil over this is absolutely a wrong decision, and smells of a biased decision this is the facts Tribunal chairman Jeff Gleeson said the incident fell into the "bumping of an opponent" category and it was not a reasonable way to contest the ball. "He entered the contest at speed and saw a player in his peripheral vision, left his feet and bumped Ah Chee at high speed," Gleeson said. "He should have contested the ball differently. He could have taken the ball with his arms outstretched so there was no act of bumping at all." Cripps had options. Fact. Cripps chose to bump. Fact. Cripps jumped off his feet. Fact. Cripps hit AH Chee in the head. Fact. Ah Chee was concussed. Fact. Careless. Head high. High impact. 3 weeks minimum. This is the worst decision since … since … it’s probably the worst decision ever.

What a joke He should get 3 weeks for challenging the decision As the Tribunal said : Tribunal chairman Jeff Gleeson said the incident fell into the "bumping of an opponent" category and it was not a reasonable way to contest the ball. "He entered the contest at speed and saw a player in his peripheral vision, left his feet and bumped Ah Chee at high speed," Gleeson said. "He should have contested the ball differently. He could have taken the ball with his arms outstretched so there was no act of bumping at all." QED.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
Where do I want to spend the $$$ on? A key forward right now if we can. Not on Grundy.

22Under22 Squad 2022
Definitely good to see Harry Petty and JJ getting recognition.

CASEY: Rd 21 vs Carlton
Agree. I’d be looking at Sparrow and Melksham as the outs. Hunt was okay in a defensive role. He might get one of Blues small forwards again this week.
-
Who's helping to fix our goal kicking woes?
Agree. Goalkicking has to be the primary focus. You have to WANT to kick the goal. Fuc&$$)& the selflessness mantra. If you’re within 30 metres, kick the goal. Forwards coach Greg Stafford. Ffs. You might as well have Tony Liberatore as ruck coach. ps Max. 1- stop endlessly spinning the footy 2- run in to kick straight through the goals

Whilst I’m repeating myself. Incidental contact??? what BS. That’s not a footy act. The key issue to play out at the tribunal will be what duty of care Cripps had towards Ah Chee, given he elected to bump and lifted his feet off the ground, as the 2022 AFL guidelines state that if a player elects to bump, they take on the risk – and the consequences!!! This is what we need to stamp out of the game. Jumping and bumping to the head. It’s a low act from a star footballer !!

New Deals for Moniz-Wakefield, McVee & D. Smith
Yes this was an obvious move to sign them for one more year. Give them more of a go. I think Mcvee and Smith may struggle but I think AMW could look get a game next year under Choco’s development. He just seems to love the contact and intensity of AFL. Maybe it’s his rugby league background as a youngster.
