Oldest premiership/surviving player/s.
Noel McMahen. 94yo. 95 at end of October. My late father said he was one of the toughest blokes on the team but a true leader. Played in 48, 55&56 premiership teams. Captained 1955-56. MFC team of the century half back. Life member. Never got to coach us unfortunately. Probably would have been a successor to Norm Smith I remember Noel from the Redlegs function that I was invited to in the 1990s. He loved the Dees. So passionate. So vocal. Sometimes had to be โadvisedโ to calm down given he was about 70 at the time. One of our greatest players.

2021 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May
Can we acknowledge in his bio 2021 All Australian Full Back Had a fantastic year. Great guy. A leader. One of the most humble guys youโd meet. Loves the footy club. Bloody champion.

Hyphenated Names
I think Richmond had the current cravat title with Eggmolesse-Smith, Coleman-Jones and Collier-Dawkins. Imagine if the Dees had 3 hyphens. Itโd be snow season and cheeseboard jokes. Yes Kangas set to assume the hyphenated supremacy!!

AFL Trade Period
Agreed. Iโd move pick 47 out to a club like the Hawks for a future 2022 3rd rounder.

Welcome to Demonland - Pick 17
Really hope Mac slides to beyond pick 20 and heโs available. He can develop for 3-4 years in the Dees system without any pressure. Lots of other good quality kids on radar for pick 17

Farewell Luke Jackson
Iโd extend through to 2027. New 5year deal on 500,000 500,000 750,000 750,000 $1m ie. $3.5m over 5 years. For his 22-26 years.

Bunch of Dees re-sign
I think Chandler got 2 years which may not have been offered or extended by the crows. Chandler was so close to a game but Kozzy and Spargo kept on performing ๐๐ whilst the other 6 players got (I think) one-year deals which is fair enough as depth/fringe/developing squad members. One year deals on lower $$$ helps balance the list and not cripple our salary cap.

Welcome to Demonland: Taj Woewodin
I think we will draft in two quality youngsters in 1st and 2nd round and then choose Taj (Woey jnr) as father son pick late in the draft. With our pick 49 currently, Iโd like to see swapped out to a future 3rd 2022 pick perhaps with the Hawks or Eagles who are wanting to bring in players in this yearsvdraft.

Whatโs your favourite GOAL from the Grand Final?
Favourite goals. 1. Oliver running goal to end the third quarter. It killed off the dogs (bang bang bang). Jacksonโs gather and handball was first class. Oliverโs salute showed we will on top now and charging. 2. Petracca goal from the boundary line - inside out banana - 3rd quarter (bang) 3. Fritsch goal - mark attempt then recovered ball to kick his 2nd goal in 30 seconds - 3rd quarter 4. Brayshaw goal after courageous mark. Dead straight kick. Put us in front. 5. Sparrows goal after centre square clearance. The nail was being hammered in (bang bang) 6. Fritsch mark and goal in the 3rd quarter to stop the dogs run. It was a pressure kick and he nailed it to give us hope 7. Petracca goal off one step from outside 50. What a talent!! It started the game. 8. Langdon goal in the last. He started deep in defence with a possession and then ran and ran and ran down to follow the ball before accepting a pass in the forward pocket. The Stevie-J snap from the pocket just capped it off. 9. Ben Brown mark and goal at the start of the last quarter. 5 goals up and we could smell blood. 10. Spargo goal in the first quarter after the pressure of Kozzy to chase and chase to create a turnover. No stat for Kozzy but worth the applause. 11. Salem goal in the last quarter. Evades two Bulldogs creates space and 25 metre snap goes through. Topped off a magnificent match for him. 12. Ben Brown goal in the third quarter. Third goal in 2 minutes after Fritsch double. Scores now even. โCome onโ I yelled. โGo Dees, weโre backโ!!!!! 13. 4th quarter. Oliverโs smother, Petracca beautiful 90degree angle pass to Tommy Mcd. Goal. 8 goals up. Itโs our PREMIERSHIP!! and another 8 more special goals to make it 21.

Who is Cerra? He is dead to us.

Bunch of Dees re-sign
The 7 resigning should be under the Casey news imv. They represent emergency options albeit n fairness Turner D-Smith and Bedford are still under development.

Welcome to Demonland: Jacob Van Rooyen
JVR. Good call. Itโs a Yes from me. Need to consider key position forwards. He looked like a talent in the WA-SA game. Definitely a good strategy to grab him if available and then be comfortable that he would have at least 2 years development. I would see him as a assume the Tmcd role in my view as an agile CHF for 2024. However Iโm still prefer PICK 17 selection on a fast running mid as a need for our continued improvement like a Mitch Owens or Campbell Chesser. Though not disappointed if itโs used on JVR.

Just need to keep focussed. Itโs all talk of โback to backโand we will setup a โdynastyโ LETS JUST ENJOY THE PREMIERSHIP Remember it took a lot of hard work in so many areas to achieve it. The hard work will need to be replicated and improved. We are now the Hunted.

- Welcome to Demonland: Taj Woewodin
I think (only my view) we shafted his Dad twenty years ago due to $$$s. Iโd like to see us rectify that and give Taj a spot on the list. He has the talent and it appears his year shows his dedication to do whatโs required for AFL footy.- Welcome to Demonland: Taj Woewodin
Taj comes from a very good footy factory. East Fremantle. The club that produced Luke Jackson and Trent Rivers.- POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
Watched the last half again on TV late last night. It gets more enjoyable each time. Just that last minute of the third quarter. Wow. Bang bang bang. We will talk about that FOREVER. Itโs Demon folklore!!!- Welcome to Demonland - Pick 17
Campbell Chesser - remember the name- Welcome to Demonland: Taj Woewodin
List spots are actually now very tight given we have again contracted guys like Mitch Brown and Chandler who I thought might have finished up at the Dees (expected Brown to be delisted and Chandler to seek opportunities elsewhere). I think Dees should definitely declare him as a Father Son pick. Heโs likely to only require a very late pick or a rookie.- 2021 List and Contract Details
Yes itโs a full house now, considering 3 draft picks to be added (17,37,49). Itโs a cruel game. Hore and Declase are quality backup players but cannot afford to carry too many such players with tighter lists. Actually itโs happening more and more across the league. Blues just cut Gibbons who has shown heโs AFL quality across the past 3 years. - Welcome to Demonland: Taj Woewodin
