  1. Glad to see him elevated. Busting down the door for selection, which is what we need.
  2. Absolutley not. I love Fitzy, but ruckman should not play key back, last time we did that, they thought we tanked. But, i love how youre thinking of options. I commend you for that!
  3. I am the same, If i can love the highs of the 2000 Grand final (even though i was only 6) I can certainly take the low's. I am a Melbourne supporter. The key word there is 'supporter'.
  4. To be fair we were missing; Jamar, Watts, Clark, Mcdonald, Trengove, Grimes, Toumpas. Now I'm not using this as an excuse, there aren't any excuses. We were dismal. But, you take 6-7* of the top 15 players out of any side and they'd struggle too. Add to this another pre-season, Jesse Hogan and a probable Top 3 draft pick (Perhaps a Kelly) and not only does our midfield start looking half decent for the future. but, our forward line looks somewhat Imposing. Sure, Hogan wont dominate next year, no one here should expect a 19 year old key forward to dominate AFL. but, My hope is for possibly 20-30 goals from say 15 games. You will see the wheels are starting to turn, we are not as bad as how everyone is making us out to be. There is a future here, stay persistent now and you will truly reap the benefits of the success that's surely to come our way. This success will mean more to you, you will put higher value on a win than others, you can say you are a true supporter because you stuck by your cub.
  5. It seems that all of us have a fair idea of what we want, myself included. But it's wide spread over a lot of these topics. So, I think it would be a good idea to have everything that we want to see happen, posted here. (Obviously with exception to team selection) which has its own weekly topic. Whether you want to see a certain player/coach bought in, a new football department, new game plans or anything like that... the sky's the limit! I'll start by saying...... I personally, want to see Demonland forums lay off guys like Watts, Toumpas and Trengove. One of them has played 9 quarters, the others battling injuries and form, while the other, Watts, has been a whipping boy and an easy target for too long. I know for a fact, people on here who ridicule him, will be the first to call him a traitor if he were to leave at the end of the season. On a positive, i'd love to see Neeld turn into a successful coach, I think he has had a rough time in his first couple of years. What he has been through, and the way he has managed to shield the players is unbelievable.
  6. Hahahahaha! That is hilarious actually.
  7. Maybe Geelong have a secret forumla that helps them develop their youngsters so well. Maybe someone (plankton) should try and steal us that formula? On another note, I dont really think Hurley has been that much better than Watts, I think they are in the same boat in their development, however poor Jack's is under a microscope 24/7.
  8. Trengove, IMO, has the character where he wants to do all he can for this club, lead us in the right direction. If this involves playing through pain, thats the kind of guy he is. But those types of things are easier said than done.
  9. Martin will be a worry in the first half, send someone, maybe a dunn, to him then. His second half's are very poor. So he isn't our main worry. If we curtail Cotchin, we will be within a shot of the win.
  10. Has anyone here actually had a bone fracture in their foot? Because they are pains of things to get over, he is still obviously suffering from it. Just can't wait until he gets over it COMPLETELY and starts hitting his straps, then we will see these forums talking him up like they should be instead of continually kicking a man when he is down. We are after a club culture, as fans we are a part of that. I doubt having cheap, pot shots at one of the co-captains is showing loyalty to a rebuild. Where, obviously, he has had so much to deal with. The least we owe him is our support. If i recall correctly, he re-commited to the club when we were looking all doom and gloom, when Scully was taking the money and running, this man was stepping up and showing there are players who are wanting to be apart of this club and help lead them up the ladder. Now an injury which has gotten him down on form and confidence, has sent this forum into overdrive. Honestly, some of the people on here are borderline ridiculous.
  11. I think he kicked it, not 100% sure. but, exactly, he reads the play well. He had less than 5 possies, but its what he did with what he got that impressed me. He does look very natural yes. I quite like Tapscott, i think since returning from the VFL he has been very good.
  12. What i liked about Kent and it was also highlighted by the commentators, was that he wasn't afraid to take the game on. When he was legged and got the free kick, which he then converted into a goal, came about because he took the game on and went for a run. He went on a couple of runs. It's that style of play we need. A player showing confidence in their own ability is a big tick IMO.
  13. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-05-07/dees-should-give-jack-a-break
  14. Matt Crouch, just had 45 touches in TAC game. 22 handball recieves. Obviously his team mates know how good he is.
  15. We would have to take Matt crouch, will be better than his brother. Probably, the best mid in the draft. will go top 5.
  16. Great to see Toumpas was 2nd best on. Helps build his confidence levels. Oh and it also silences some of the people on here who knock him so quickly.
  17. Looking at that list, I noticed one thing, the ages. The players i personally rate and come up in conversation and debate about, are all the young ones. Viney- 19 Toumpas- 19 Hogan- 18 Trengove- 21 Evans- 20 Mcdonald- 20 Kent- 19 Taggert- 19 Gawn- 21 Barry- 19 Davis- 20 Fitzpatrick- 21 Tynan- 19 Tapscott- 21 They are all under 22 years old. Then the players who are 22-24 Watts- 22 Strauss- 22 Blease- 22 Howe- 22 Grimes- 23 Nicholson- 22 Mckenzie-22 So the youth on the list is very good. Especially the players under 21. If we just bring in a few extra coaches, or some more senior players. I really think we can be a very good side in 2-3-4 years time.
  18. Vickery is an okay player, not in the company of the others listed. Also, if you look at why they are doing well, its because of their trading. Houli,Chaplin,Maric, Grigg, Knights among others is what has helped them progress and cover the cracks of their drafting.
  19. I dont think Tynan had 25 touches in his first game. I recall he played round 1 last year and then was in the VFL for the rest of it. Which was good, allow him to find his feet. Evans has had a few injuries, but now he is returning and surpassing to that form he showed. Trengove, is harsh, 10 tackles last week. I don't really think he's fighting to stay in the team. We all know why Magner can't play.
  20. They have had to relearn a new game plan. I would have been shocked if they were immediately better. It's a process. One we will will come out better from.
