  1. Yeah, would be stupid to even consider playing him this year, infact i think they have stated that he won't regardless of what else happens, but the fact he is running again is a huge step forwards imo.
  2. i think it's pretty rare isn't it? fingers crossed anyway, make or break rehab for big Mitch
  3. Now for some good news, according to the injury report Mitch is back Running and training with the Rehab group, and his foot is actually going quite well
  4. I believe Richmond has given us Permission to interview choco and Collingwood refused with Eade, i was told we were interviewing choco for the first time the week of the Brisbane game in Darwin.
  5. Doesn't the compo depend heavily on ladder position and how important the player is to the side? see hawks are 1st and i'm not certain they're that much worse without him, infact some argue they're better without him so it will be very interesting to see how they rule that, i think pick 15-20 would be appropriate.
  6. I read it somewhere, and then someone else told me the same thing, 8 were interested in Watts, 10 interested in Frawley ( no idea if interested means seriously interested or would have a look if they were offered up ) i know Carlton, North, Freo and GWS were some of the teams for Watts. I'll have a quick look and see if i can find it for you.
  7. West coast will have no interest in Watts so we won't get Shuey, i have heard Fyfe and Hill might be the two real untouchable younger players at freo so i can't see them offering that, i'd look at trading pick 1 to the Lions for daniel Rich and their first round pick, use that on Matt Crouch
  8. If it becomes a bidding war for pick 1 i would suggest we could get an A grade mid and a top 10 pick for it, i'd love Daniel Rich and pick 7 but not sure if the lions would deal that
  9. Is it really that crazy though? he is 22 and full of potential, he is in demand with at least 8 other teams interested and he is playing some reasonable football as it is, surely pick 9 wouldn't be that insane.
  10. Can't really be Eade because as far as i am aware Collingwood aren't letting us interview him, would be abit stupid to hire someone without having a formal interview.
  11. They know we want to keep him and that Freo are also right in the mix, so if they want him bad enough they'll cough it up, maybe an exchange of later picks or something to sweeten it.
  12. If he wants to go to Carlton as it would seem i reckon we'd get pick 9 which i think is Win-Win for everyone, if we hold on to him and in three years time he hasn't improved we will get next to nothing
  13. It's a strong lineup, but there are alot of questions to be answered yet 1. will they be able to work effectively together? 2. will they be able to get on the park at all? 3. will jesse hogan live up to the hype? ( this shouldn't be judged until he has spent 3-5 years in the AFL system, we're good at throwing our young players to the wolves if they don't dominate from the word go. shall be interesting, but as you say it has all the pieces to make a very dangerous puzzle.
  14. If i remember rightly Jack Grimes was a decent enough kick when he was drafted? maybe it's his decision making more so
  15. I would suggest as PJ says the lack of leadership in the locker room is our biggest issue, if we're given a PP it would be based on the idea that we're going to trade that pick to address that issue.
  16. i think he will and is being considered, but others are ahead of him.
  17. Surely it's Roos or it's Choco if both said no for some reason it's Eade.
  18. Haha yes, the more i think about it the more it depresses me.
  19. So who do we target if that's the case, you'd say Carlton, Freo, Brisbane, Collingwood, Bulldogs, Saints, adelaide would all be very interested GWS, Kangaroos, GC, Richmond, Hawthorn probably all have some interest so my list of targets or acceptable trades would be Carlton: Mark Murphy or Bryce Gibbs and a pick, Freo: David Mundy and a pick or Nathan Fyfe, Lions, Rich, redden or Rockcliff, probably would all need to add their first round pick Pies: Sidebottom or Pendelbury or Beams or Swan Dogs: Griffen or Libba Saints: Jack steven and first round pick or Montagna and first round pick Crows: David mackay and bernie vince or Rory Sloane and steak knives
  20. Neil crag said in i believe the friday presser that he acknowledged jacks position and understood it but didn't believe he was simply waiting for the coach to be named, i don't believe for a second that's the case, what else is he waiting for? PJ has also stated he has had several chats with Jack and understands where he is at and very confident he'll stay, so based on that i am concluding Jack has a preference for coach or coaching type and we're right in the running, although all five of the shortlist we have guessed on here, not sure if they have actually said who any of them are, are very good coaches.
  21. Skills and hardrunning need to be the theme of this pre season imo, they're our two most obvious weaknesses if you don't count the actual playing list.
  22. I think we should bid on Mcdonald to be honest, has A grade potential.
  23. Agree, has the makings of the best forward line in the comp, but 3 years ago we had the makings of the best midfield in the comp when jack trengove and Scully came onboard, and that hardly worked out
  24. I think using the bargaining chip of the captaincy might be our best bet of getting a high profile experienced mid, say to Dale Thomas for example, how would you like to be captain of the oldest club in the comp during it's revival? the idea of trading them is abit silly imo, if we get a great offer it needs to be considered, neither have earned the right to be untouchable but they're both young and have bucket loads of ability so lets back ourselves to get them right and make them gun players, they probably are decent enough leaders but in tough times you don't need to throw the weight of the world on the shoulders of kids when you have Jones, Clark, Garland and Frawley who i am sure would all make good captains.
