  1. Signed i'd say, wouldn't rule out the possibility of three giant announcements before the Queens birthday game, Mcdonald, Jetta and Garlett.
  2. Tommlinsons running power is far superior to any of the guys you've listed, he could play the Tom Lynch ( Crows ) role or even like a Roo role where he runs up and back and hits up at the ball. I really think he has the attributes to play as a running tall defender, he is racking up huge numbers in the seconds at the moment, though i know the competition isn't that strong. if we could get him for the right price i think he'd be a good pick up, certainly wouldn't be willing to give up much for him, which is why i think he'll go elsewhere at years end
  3. Adam Tommlinson is a very talented key position player who isn't getting a look in at the Giants, we have a good relationship with GWS, Bugg, Frost and Tyson here already and wouldn't cost much at all imo
  4. Oh i 100% agree that they need a full re-build 4-5 years of good picks through the system while Pav and co are there to teach them, they remind me quite a lot of us before out big spell at the bottom, they've left the rebuild a little to late.
  5. Agreed! it's disgusting! but lets be honest, if they're going to get Jesse Hogan for example it's going to take at least pick 1 and a player to even get us to consider trading him this year and they won't waste more than one year at the bottom if they have any say in it.
  6. I'd say a straight swap for Jack Viney, but i doubt that's enough, better throw in Jesse as well.
  7. Funny the difference a year can make, 12 months ago Freo were undefeated premiership favourites, Nat Fyfe flying and though they had ageing stars i don't think anyone thought they'd fall away like they have.
  8. I liken the ducking to staging, a deliberate action to draw a free kick, i personally think it should be a free kick against the player who did it and every time a bloke ducks down the player should drive them into the ground hard and make them earn it
  9. Another 100 plus point loss coming up to the Suns, last four games could easily equal a total four hundred points behind... how many teams have averaged 100 point losses over a four week period only playing one top 4 side in that time?
  10. Game is far from over, the Cats seem to have the run
  11. What a strange game AFL is, the moment you think you are confident a team will win something goes pear shaped.
  12. This is truly an amazing reaction to me saying nothing more than i rate one of our young players. I wasn't counting at the game, but i knew it was quite a lot, and they were good marks. I did hear a public comment that it was 11 so i just assumed that was correct, it was nothing more than that. Disappointing reaction, but that's Demonland i guess, i've been on here long enough to know what to expect. simple solution for those who don't like my posts, don't read them.
  13. if he gets fit, he's a jet. definitely worth a phone call.
  14. having some of our more speculative picks come into the side and play well at AFL level has been a huge part of our resurgence, outside our top end talent when Hunt, Harmes, Vanders, Wagner Jetta ( as a rookie ) who were all rookies or later picks come in and lock down best 22 spots it just ramps up the pressure for spots to a whole new level! credit to the recruiting staff and the development programs at the club, i'm not sure there are any clubs who've been as consistently good with recruiting as we have, nearly every pick has been good.
  15. you wouldn't be impressed if you were an Alex Rance for example and had just signed a long term contract with that club who was no doubt selling you the idea of having a Hawthorn-like era to get you over the line.
  16. I'm sure it's not the only reason, but if he was set on coming to Melbourne, which is what was being talked about for a while it would become a consideration that the quality of the medical staff would have a bearing on his ability to get and stay fit.
  17. Jaeger O'meara is a really interesting one, lots of talk that he is pretty keen on moving to Melbourne and one of the big reasons i am hearing is he and others don't have a lot of confidence in the Suns medical department and feels a Melbourne team would be a better option in terms of getting past his injury and having a rewarding career. pretty significant risk/reward factor here, he is in my opinion in the top few most talented young midfielders in the comp, and if he were to get fit and stay fit he would significantly improve our side, and his injury means we potentially might be able to land him without selling the farm. I personally don't feel we are in the position to take a risk like this just yet, and Dion Prestia is a much safer target, but it will be really interesting to see what happens with him, i think he'll end up at one of the big Melbourne clubs, Collingwood or Richmond maybe.
  18. you have to understand the context, skinny lad competing very well against senior bodies really stood out to me and i thought he was extremely impressive, i wasn't sure where he would sit come draft day before that game but he showed some great signs of what he's going to be able to do when he develops an AFL body. The biggest thing i noticed on the day was he had an ability to be totally out positioned in a marking contest by a much more seasoned body and still managed to either mark the ball or bring it to ground, which is exactly what you want a key forward to be able to do. Another concern i had about him before that game was how mobile he was, i wasn't sure if he'd move around well enough to be a good AFL key forward, but he certainly moved well while he was out there, and we're seeing that a bit now at Casey, an injury free run is really helping him and he's consistently competing with bigger more seasoned bodies and not just going okay, but going quite well.
  19. He still to me doesn't look like he has the running capacity to play as a genuine outside midfielder, but i really hope he does, he has the class and skills that we're desperately lacking.
  20. I personally think he's a far more natural forward, he's got a real creative flare to his play and there is no doubt the coaching staff were hoping he'd produce that out of defense, but i don't feel he has. I think Angus Brayshaw would be a better bet rotating from Wing to half back, as good as he is as an inside mid.
