Jay Clark claiming it's confirmed 2 years for both Oscar and Tom
-
When we win this year we average above 45 points as a result of intercept turnover, Tom is our best intercept player by a mile, but also a very good defender, literally the only downside is his skills/decision making can be suspect at time, but as others have mentioned, Rance went through a similar phase.

Give it a rest mate, it's not even a thread about Jesse.

Didn't Mach5 call this a few days ago? bloody awesome if true.

The combined Jaeger O'Meara and Dion Prestia Thread
Ted Lasso replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
From what i've heard the club is really keen to sign a big name player this off season if at all possible, obviously Hibberd is a good player but i reckon we'd be keen on one of Prestia, Mitchell, Hurley, Crouch and i wouldn't be surprised if offers are ramped up a notch in the coming weeks to see what we can get over the line, i suspect a lot of this depends on what the Mcdonald brothers decide to do, i think re-signing those two would be more significant than signing say a Dion Prestia. -
The combined Jaeger O'Meara and Dion Prestia Thread
Ted Lasso replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'd be having a very serious look at Brad Crouch, he's in great form at the minute, and his off field stuff seems to have knocked him behing O'meara, Prestia and Mitchell, I reckon he's very gettable and has the explosive attributes that would really add to our midfield -
Plus chances are in two years the player will want out and vic clubs will get a crack at them anyways.
-
I suspect if the Lions move Leppa on he's someone who could put his hand up for that role, given he has a history at their club and seems to be seen as ready for a senior role, if not i'd not be upset if he came to the Dees as an assistant coach.
-
You can give them the top 10 picks in the draft and it won't make a difference if they can't retain them, it's well known their training facilities are well below par, their coach is imo not up to it, they have made irresponsible recruiting decisions over the past 3-5 years I can't think of a single young player they've had/have that's been well developed, even Taylor and Mayes have stalled or gone backwards. much like with us i think they need the AFL's help to secure a capable coach who can help change the culture of the club, Roos would be the first choice, but unlikely, so perhaps someone like Bomber Thompson, teach the young guys, and develop them and see if they can sort out the facilities.
-
Brisbane need to make a massive offer to Roosy, i don't think he'd go and i'd be dissapointed if he did go to another side, but they NEED someone like that to save that club.

Overrated players we must not entertain during trade week
Ted Lasso replied to TGR's topic in Melbourne Demons
Duncan, Bruest and Caddy will not be on the trade table so i don't understand the thread. I didn't think we should have chased Melksham last year. -
Yup, 100% agree, they can have our 2017 first rounder and a pick of a group of fringe players and should be happy to get anything at all.
-
Essendon don't have a leg to stand on, they need to realise if they push it club will use the get out free clause and leave them with nothing. i can't see any way we would give up a regular best 22 player for a bloke who's been out of the game for 12 months. our second rounder is more than enough.
-
Our record when we got knocked back was significantly worse than theirs, if they get given a priority pick i would expect PJ to ask for a please explain. Leppa's inability to coach shouldn't cost the rest of the comp.
-
I think it's a combination of Coaching/bad luck, they have had some injuries but i think they have some talent and should be losing by 138 points.. Personally i think a side with Rockliff, Beams, Christiensen, Zorko, Martin, Hanley, Taylor and co in it should think they can compete with most sides, maybe not win, but they're better than 2 wins at 56 % or whatever they are at the moment.

The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
Ted Lasso replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
Given they have no first rounders for the next couple of years if there was even the slightest bit of truth to this rubbish rumour i'd want Treloar or Sidebottom and Moore -
I will be genuinely annoyed if we lose this, we're in good form and Port were rubbish on the weekend, we should have a huge advantage in the ruck with Gawn playing well. I personally think we should win this by 5-7 goals
-
they'd all be in the first 10 players selected at the Lions.
-
I wonder if Dawesy would be of interest to a side like Brisbane who need basically everything, package Dawes and Garland up for them

Surely Hunt Deserves a Rising Star Nomination
Ted Lasso replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
He deserved it the week Mills got it with his 29 disposals and 600 meters gained. unfortunately the AFL had already given in to the pressure to give it to Mills and he would have got it if he had 5 touches. -
Lions need to bite the bullet and move Leppa on right away and start the search for a replacement, his results have been Neeld-like and their list is better than ours was when Roos took over.

Who are the Dees chasing for 2017 and at what cost?
Ted Lasso replied to junk's topic in Melbourne Demons
If Hurley wants out and the club is confident on Jesse and Tom it's time to break out the war chest i reckon! Hurley would be a huge signing for the club and we're a strong chance if he wants out given the clubs direction and Essendon connections. the trade would be a tricky one, especially if Hibberd wants to come on board as well -
Essendon, North and West Coast. three games we should have won, had we won those we'd be 8th and a strong chance of holding that spot. real lesson for the players as to just how much the lapses can cost.
-
It's almost like he's improving the longer he's in the AFL side? crazy stuff! Having watched Oscar train quite a bit, i'm not of the view he is in fact slow, he's just not fully adjusted above the shoulders to AFL footy and can at times be a step behind, which is all it takes to look slow at the elite level.

Different set of rules for Mitchell and Rioli, Mitchell definitely deserves a week if Hawkins got done for what he did to Davis, but i bet neither get weeks.
