  1. If a club offered up a second round pick for Garland i reckon we should take it and run. I can't see him getting back into the side now, i reckon we should and will persist with Mcdonald, Mcdonald and Frost going forward, i'd prefer if we keep one of the older blokes we keep Dunn
  2. One of the more interesting interviews i've ever seen, some of what Jacko said was just horrible and he probably shouldn't ever be allowed on the air again, but i think he thinks he was being honest. Not sure any of the current day journo's ( Barrett, Caro and co ) could have handled an interview like that as well as what Mike did, i reckon he probably needed a cold one very quickly after that. I think the biggest take away i got from that was in a different era of footy two fundementals of the game were givens for just about every player, being able to use both sides when kicking, and being a good set shot at goal. Not nearly enough time is spent on those things, growing up my old man made me kick on my left ( non dominant side ) at Auskick and my right at mini league which was straight after that to develop those skills, and it makes a very real difference in senior footy, but so many blokes go into the AFL system unable to kick both sides and missing easy set shots at goal, which i understand the pressure is a factor in that but it's not everything, though most players seem to rarely miss at training so it's not as simple as saying they should practice more.
  3. He's on track to kick 50 goals this year, as effectively a second year player. Adelaide he played on Talia who beats everyone West coast he copped Mcgoven who's a bloody good defender Hawks he copped Chip Frawley who is beating most forwards I am not the least bit worried about Jesse as a player, he's going along beautifully.
  4. Doesn't have to be cut, but i am pretty certain if another club expressed interest the Dees would look at a trade, he's not looked like getting a game for most of the season and our young key backs look pretty good.
  5. The Suns will want either a top 10 pick and a player or two first rounders for Jaeger who is seriously injury prone, it's the sort of punt Hawthorn can take, we can't afford the risk, nomatter how good the reward.
  6. He won't be traded unless he wants out, end of story.
  7. I think the really positive thing for our backline is this year we're playing Hunt, Wagner, O'mac and Frost who are all under 40 games and T'mac and Jetta who aren't old either, and they're working with a totally different system to the last two years and we're only plus 2 points per game but +4 goals a game as well. really like Frost at CHB
  8. Yeah, he's definitely had a tough year hasn't he, hopefully we persist for another year. I'm not sure on Trengove either, if we trade him we are going to get a rubbish pick at best in return, maybe a third rounder and i really think he offers more to the group as a leader/ on field leader at VFL level who will put pressure on for a senior spot. I hope we give him one more year, but it'll be a tough call for the coaches, i think the fact it's Goodwins call helps him, Goody really rates Trengove.
  9. Macca rate JKH? I wouldn't mind seeing Trengove delisted and Rookied, i think he's got way to much talent to not give one more year, having said that it's going to be tough from here.
  10. I would be reluctant to make any unforced changes, if we play the way we did against the WCE against the Suns but convert a bit better, it'll be an 80 point win. O'mac out Oliver In I think if O'mac misses we're going to have to accept a height disadvantage against the Suns tall forwards, but i think we should have a huge advantage in the middle, so if we smash them in there, it won't matter.
  11. With the likelyhood that Dunn and Grimes will be leaving us at years end and the serious possibility Trengove, Garland, Dawes and Pederson might join them we are going to be seriously light on in three main areas going into the draft Rucks, Key backs and experienced forwards and with the possibility of T'mac and Hogan potentially leaving within the next two years, we need this to be a very active off season to try and at least get some stop gaps in to cover the losses/potential losses,
  12. If Tom requests a trade at years end, what is he worth? i personally think a key position player of his age/quality/upside is worth a first round pick and a fringe player. will be very interesting to see what he does over the next 6-7 weeks.
  13. I would think it's very unlikely ANB will go anywhere other than MFC or a S.A side Will be very interesting to see if we trade Col at the end of his first season back in the leadership group, very MFC
  14. We don't have to worry about the Hawks, they're hoping to land both Tom Mitchell and Jaeger O'meara this off season, they won't have anything left to trade after those two.
  15. I genuinely think we will win. I've finally lost it totally
  16. I see your point, but i can honestly say despite many years of being a loyal Dees supporter through some very average times, had we been found guilty of drug cheating, i would no longer support the club. I think it's fair that some people value the integrity of the game and have concerns about convicted drug cheats joining a young and impressionable list
  17. When Jack plays well, we generally win games, so it's no surprise that Jacks form has improved out of sight and we've been winning far more consistently. his loyalty to a club that has probably not always done the absolute right thing by him is fantastic, bit like Nathan Jones he's one of the guys i have no doubt will be a one club player if they have a say in the matter.
  18. I reckon the club would have asked Jesse what his plans were so we could consider our options come trade week, if he was definitely going to leave we could at least get full return for him on the trade table, but it sounds as though the response was very positive.
  19. I suspect the Hibberd deal may be a difficult one, simply because i can't see the Bombers taking pick 27 or whatever it is, they'll definitely think he's worth a first rounder
  20. It was his first game back from a long layoff, on a fast Etihad deck and we got beaten comfortably and i thought he was pretty good all things considered, can't understand the negativity, Gus is one of the few players in recent years we don't have to worry about. The more games our young core gets together the better they'll get, and Injuries have made it impossible to get a consistent run of games into most of them for the last couple of years, had we been able to, i personally think we'd be 3 wins better off this season.
  21. The knee injuries would have to have sent a scare through the Richmond camps who are said to have put big dollars on the table, massive investment for an injury prone player, not sure they can afford the gamble. Personally i think both Richmond and Carlton should be re-building through the draft, and we're in more of a position to look at bringing in someone like Dion, given our core group is already established.
  22. Sounds like Brad Couch is absolutely in the game for the Vic clubs so that makes things very interesting.
  23. Kennedy certainly isn't slow picket, not like the guys you've mentioned here.
