  1. Not sure mate, i guess it depends how well Neeldy can talk him up to Woosha, Personally i'd be more inclined to think we'd offer something like Neal-Bullen and 44 for Hibberd or some sort of swap of picks but i'd be guessing. I would still be having a really good look at Eric Mackenzie, i really think the extra experience down back in the key position stocks would be great, his best is AA level and he'd take the pressure off Tommy.
  2. Yup absolutely! he just needs to simplify it, treat it like a field kick and he'll be fine, Jesse is a beautiful kick of the ball, but he's got a horrid run up with his stutters and jumping jacks and what not
  3. Tom Lynch (Crows) style lead up forward? Garlo has a bit of toe, reasonable hands on the lead and he's been around a while, but i agree, rather than just letting him rot in the back pocket at Casey, might as well try something, having said that i reckon there will be a team that grabs him on the cheap.
  4. I have heard that we're shopping Garlo around with essentially a free to good home tag on him and not getting a lot of interest, i think the club is hoping someone might take him off our hands for a third rounder or something. not a great sign when the GM of footy says on trade radio that they're worried about our experience down back when we have Dunn and Garland sitting in the VFL
  5. With the Hibberd deal, both parties have known for ages this was happening so no doubt they will have it all fairly hashed out, i personally think pick 26 is fair, EFC have to remember he's had 12 months totally out of the AFL system, so i think pick 26 is quite generous, i'd see that as fair Currency if he'd played this year.
  6. it also allows him to see how things go under Goody before deciding if he sticks around long term, in three years time i feel we should be top 4 and contending, but look at a side like the Pies, coaching transition doesn't always work perfectly. smart move i reckon, i assume the perth rumours probably added a few $$ to his new deal as well.
  7. “Obviously a lot has been made of me being a Perth boy, but the Club has been great in allowing me to head home when I can and that’s something that’s made my decision much easier. They’ve been really good with my situation and something that I am really appreciative of.”
  8. It's factually incorrect. To suggest Jesse is anything but 100% committed to his afl career is a joke. The only question is where he will play.
  9. I don't imagine them putting it all over the AFL website if the Lions hadn't confirmed it to them, so i'd say RIcho needs a new source.
  10. I suspect this is the case, and the club either has no new info, or they're in total lock down out of respect for Jesse's personal situation.
  11. Barrett claiming on AAA that there is zero movement or developments on a new contract for Jesse, while part of me thinks he just wants Jesse to leave because he has always hated the MFC, i have a bad feeling that he might be right.
  12. I find this comment a bit funny from his manager, how can the Lions be willing to shop around Hanley and Rockliff but aren't willing to commit to a short term, low money contract for Dunn.
  13. The other thing i was a bit annoyed about was Ralph mentioning the nature of Jesse's old mans illness, unless Jesse has said himself it's fine, surely he could just say personal matters, really silly move on his part and i would hope the MFC makes contact with him and tells him to keep his mouth shut about the players personal issues if it doesn't need to be mentioned.
  14. To expand slightly he said his old man has told him to go do what he wants to do, ( staying in Melbourne rather than returning home to Perth) Melbourne were/are extremely confident He's never once given Fremantle any indication he wants to play there and he suspects the talk is trying to drive his pay day up a bit. absolutely zero about an announcement date, but it sounds as though it's either already signed or he's going to sign in the very near future. no mention of years or terms of the deal.
  15. I'd be shocked if the club considered trading Salem, he's super highly rated internally, rated nearly as high as Viney and Hogan
  16. Geez that's a big call from him, surely he doesn't say that unless he's certain.
  17. Massive effort by everyone involved! Thanks so much! Go dees
  18. I really think that a lot of that for us is going to come from internal development, when guys like Salem, Brayshaw, Oliver, Petracca start to impact game regularly we will be able to cover injuries better, and as the list/players develop that depth will improve even further, having played the VFL grand final this year i feel our depth is quite good, but we really are just going to dive hard into developing these guys as quickly as possible, another pre season and we could see big gains from this group, the rise could happen a lot quicker than some are expecting.
  19. Absolutely! based on yesterdays performance and the age/form of Taylor and Lonergan, i can imagine they'd feel like they'd made a mistake there.
  20. Mathew Pavlich hasn't made his name in a winning grand final, is Boyd better than him also? what about Nick Rewoldt? he played a great game but surely common sense says that you judge a player on a body of work, not just 1 or 2 games
