I doubt he's going to the Suns, probably just doesn't want media on his door step.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JORDAN LEWIS
Ted Lasso replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
This is a huge PR battle we've won and the Hawks have lost either way suddenly Melbourne is a "Destination club" Hawthorn is publicly under the microscope for disrespecting and pushing it's most loyal veterans out the door in order to bring in a player on massive overs with an injury history. reckon Hodge, Gibson and Burgoyne would be nervous now. -
Yes, but i think Vince is falling down the order of our mids a bit, he's still good enough to be very dangerous on the outside and a long way off falling out of the best 22, but geez he's handy as a 4-5th midfielder

Just imagine the benefits to Nathan Jones captaincy and our leadership across the board, lewis would just offer so much on so many levels, the on field leader/coach we've desperately lacked.

very interesting times, if Pickering or Lewis declares his intentions publicly it will seriously ramp up the pressure on the Hawks and make Wright look like a world class [censored] -

But if he 100% wants to leave and the Hawks 100% refuse to deal we might have to pay overs -

Is it to much to offer pick 47 for Lewis? -

The most obvious part of this is the lack of talk from Lewis or his manager, if he wasn't keen on a move he'd simply say that's the case and end the speculation -
Imagine in two years time after everything the club has been through we tried to trade Nathan Jones to the WCE so he could start his coaching career early when actually we were trying to bring in a guy who'd played 0 games in 2 seasons through injury. this is like ripping the heart out of a clubs culture, i would be shocked if they make finals next year the way this is going.

He was not up for trade, but they only decided he wasn't up for trade yesterday afternoon when they found out Mitchell was out the door, suggesting they were open to the idea before that. it sounds like he's in a pretty tight spot, generally if a player wants to go it happens, they won't keep a player who does not want to be there. saying Mitchells move wasn't motivated by the Salary cap is a joke, no doubt he could have played at the Hawks this year and gone to the eagles next year as a coach and not lost the one club player tag, it was clearly a salary cap decision. -

14 minutes ago HAWKS WON'T LET LEWIS LEAVE Hawthorn list manager Graham Wright says he doesn't believe Jordan Lewis now wants to seek a trade to Melbourne. Speaking to the media at the Ricoh Centre, he again described the midfielder as a "contracted and required player". Wright said Lewis was never put on the trade table by Hawthorn and if he decided he wanted to leave the Hawks, the club would not let him. "As of yesterday afternoon we decided we didn't want Jordan to go anywhere ... we felt he was a required player," Wright said. "We're not in any discussions with Melbourne." Wright said Lewis did not want to go to Melbourne as far as he knew. Asked if Lewis's manager Liam Pickering was still holding discussions with the Demons, Wright said you would have to ask Pickering himself. -
Would love to be a fly on the wall in the Hawks inner sanctum to see just how this has happened, how can a bloke as loyal as Lewis be chatting to a different club and have the Hawks so clearly annoyed at him wanting to leave despite all reports saying he wants to leave because of what they've said/done. the same day as a club legend is traded to WCE

Lewis is chatting to the Dees this arvo, still keen to move, just have to convince the Hawks, they won't keep a bloke who doesn't want to be there if the can get a pick for him. -

Call his management and offer him 4 years 2 with a trigger for 3 based on form/games played and whatever he doesn't do as a player as an assistant coach. -
Bad looks asking the loyal servants of your club to look elsewhere or take pay cuts so they can overpay Tom Mitchell and Offer O'meara who hasn't played in 2 years big dollars. wheels are definitely falling off.
-
Time to put our 2017 first round pick on the table and get him to the club he grew up supporting. path of least resistance and all that.
-
we won't have given up on Lewis, i reckon the Hawks are just trying to get us to offer something they can use on O'meara

i reckon there would be plenty of mids who would love to have Max Gawn dropping it down their throats. -
Eh both have had 2 top 5 B&F finishes in the last three years, i'm not the slightest bit stressed about either.
-
Who cares, they're both guns, both in our next flag side
-
Yup, it's gone from Lewis approaching Melbourne, actively seeking us out, having multiple chats with club officials, getting to the point of negotiating a suitable deal and then backflipping which to me suggests he might well want to come but the Hawks won't budge. P.S i reckon the Whisperer dude off Twitter is Grant Thomas trying to become relevant again.
-
I would have thought today would have been a nice slap in the face for you, you have been critical of the lack of movement during trade week and Lewis had agreed to a deal without you even knowing a thing about it, surely that should make you think the club has this covered and appreciate the fact that we don't leak is a really positive sign

I think if he came to the club, went as far as negotiating a deal and agreeing to it and informing the Hawks he clearly liked the idea, it seems to me that it's more about the Hawks not wanting to trade him than him not wanting to come. it's called the silly season for a reason haha -
