The Ollie Whines Lounge
It deeply pains me to say this picket, but i think you were right on this one, i'm not giving up on young jimmy but my goodness does Ollie look the goods. Anyone got any idea on how to build a time machine? got back and change a few of these draft selections? haha

Both Viney and Tyson didn't have brilliant pre seasons last year so i think they will certainly be much better this year because of the more solid prep they have had, My point was more that Trengove was captain at 19, i thought his form was promising but Wines been very good consistently in a very strong midfield, i reckon he is in a better position to take a leadership title in his stride than Trengove was when he was given it

I think the difference is wines is that good, we put kids with potential in the leadership positions, wines is a genuine gun

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHRISTIAN PETRACCA
Let's keep in mind even Daniel cross said this session was as hard as he's seen, this says far more about the session than the kids, I expect us to run out games far better in 2015

So better to learn off than Nathan Jones and Daniel cross, the standards are set by the old boys

Simon Goodwin would be thrilled with the young group that's forming at the club, should take us over in very good shape

Developing under roo while he is there, no players of that type/quality in the next draft, Massive chance we land petracca here

I'd rather have a look at mccartin in training and nab cup before writing him off for round 1 He might well be a saint in any case

I agree, i rate level neck in neck with Petracca as the most talented top end player in the draft, i am also a fan of Laverde, he just makes things happen, he perhaps tries too much at times but i see him as a really good AFL mid McCartin and Hogan should set up our forward line for the next decade though

Players association has said if clubs want Mitch they will have to trade with mfc, Based on what we invested in Mitch we will ask a fair bit I reckon

I think we are, and he will be wearing number 1 next year. But i agree, i would like to see the rebuild happen through the draft, Brayshaw and Petracca with the two picks, our program is heavily focused on development Hogan, Petracca, Trengove, Toumpas, Salem, Brayshaw, Tyson, Stretch and co are a group that could take the club places if developed

I reckon there is a massive chance we will trade pick 2 and the frawley compo

The 2014 AFL National Draft
My best guess at the first round would be 1.Stkilda - Patrick McCartin 2.Melbourne - Christian Petracca 3.Melbourne - Angus Brayshaw 4.GWS - Sam Durdin ( I reckon they want a key defender and despite his injury is a serious talent ) 5.Brisbane - Peter Wright 6.Bulldogs - Caleb Marchbank ( heard rumours they may take him a little early and love the look of him ) 7. Carlton - Tom Lamb ( Waite and Casbault rumoured to be leaving they need a forward target ) 8. Suns - Liam Duggan 9.Crows- Jake Lever 10.Eagles- Jarrod Pickett 11.Pies-Darcey Moore 12.Richmond- Jayden Laverde 13.North - Paul Ahern 14.Port - Jordan Degoey 15.Freo- Hugh Goddard 16.Geelong- Lachie Wellar 17.Hawthorn- Corey Ellis 18.Sydney- Issac Heeney I believe we will get stretch as a third round pick because no team will risk a player like Ahern or Laverde slipping down and them missing out if we call their bluff in the first round MFC second round pick - Brayden maynard, Roos wants blokes who bleed red and blue and has expressed a preference to draft mids and trade in key position players Hogan Maynard Petracca Brayshaw Stretch and later picks would be handy imo

I have heard they're aweful to deal with at the trade table.

Not sure which player we would want / they would give up, I reckon the Pies would love another really high pick for their mini rebuild, see if we could snag a player and their first rounder maybe?

Patrick McCartin in my opinion, the next two drafts I believe are pretty full of mids and they seriously need a good young key forward to build around, I think he will be far more valuable to them than Petracca would. but essentially i'd say it's between McCartin and Petracca with Wright an outside chance.

I reckon most of the recruiters would get on alright. I reckon the Saints will take McCartin and I don't think they would have any issues telling us that, it's not like we could trump their pick and steal him.
