  1. yeah.. but at least you'd get a cheap ticket and in a perverse way if we can't be there I kind of like that match up
  2. Gunston kicked 3 goals 5 behinds We were down massively on inside 50's in the second quarter but outscored them for that quarter. We had some luck last night but what winning team doesn't have that factor.
  3. Josh Wagner is almost becoming the forgotten man. A regular inclusion in the selection merry go round of 2016/17 but nowhere to be seen at AFL level for most of this year.Could he be seeking greener pastures during the trade period.
  4. Check out flights via Bali perhaps
  5. Yes there's no reason why they couldn't be used in that manner. One could register a complaint with the ticket company if it happened but it would be messy.
  6. Couple of new posters today asking for barcodes. How do we know that they are not eagles supporters trying to get tickets not to mention scalpers. Not accusing anyone in particular but just something to think about.
  7. On the flip side I can't recall him losing one contest. He was very good at getting the ball.
  8. Well the road is certainly now paved and the potholes well and truly filled. Off to see GWS v Pies tonight after the game down at Port. Hoping to see a good performance by GWS as a lead up to their game against Richmond. May even dust off the old vehicle and do some Nullabor wanderings this week towards Perth. Those roadside stops look positively inviting.
  9. Thought the Hawks played into our hands with their cross ground chip passes. Gave us plenty of time to set up defensively. Luck was certainly on our side in that third* quarter with their wayward kicking. A great team effort but there is another gear to be found methinks. Brayshaw getting a hard tag shows he has well and truly arrived but it freed Viney to have a blinder. PS... sorry meant second quarter
  10. See you there Drunk'n looking forward to a nice hot Burra Burger and the dim sims aren't bad either. For those who haven't been to the ground it is easily accessed by the light rail and plenty of nearby on street parking if you are coming by car. Pleasant walk from South Melbourne market if you are looking for some pre game food.
  11. We've stopped
  12. Hell...they couldn't... could they
  13. And we did.... yeah Go Dee's
  14. Hawks are on target now.... need to break away
  15. The old two goal turn around They had to luck on to one eventually
  16. Hawks now three relatively easy misses
  17. Over umpiring
  18. Slight Wind is our way this quarter
  19. Not exactly getting the rub of the green with the umpires
  20. Grrrrr Had to walk around the police horse poo. Is that an omen
  21. Is it a Hawks home game....why is there advertising etc running constantly
  22. As I understand it finals revenue goes in the main to the AFL. The participating clubs are paid to reflect their additional expenses (four more games) but it is nothing spectacular. For example the prize money for the Bulldogs in 2016 was $1M. Not much when you consider clubs asked for more to play one game in China. There has been talk of making the prize money for finals substantial but it's all tied up in the equalization discussions. An article in the herald sun which I could not access speaks of the AFL making $19M from last years GF. For years the prize money for the NAB cup was equal if not higher than that awarded to the premiership team. "Prize money is awarded to the victorious club. However the amount is probably not reflective of the magnitude of participating in the event. It is often assumed simply that the winner of the premiership typically experiences an increase in revenue through increases in membership and merchandise sales. The current cash prize for the winning club is A$1 million. Before 2006, a cash prize to the winning club of A$200,000 was awarded (In contrast, the winner of the NAB Cup, the far less important pre-season competition which was held from 1998 to 2013, was awarded a similar amount, A$210,000). Following the Sydney Swans premiership in 2005, many clubs publicly questioned the prize money,[11] which had not increased significantly for many years and barely covered the cost of participation in the finals series." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AFL_Grand_Final#Prize_money PS: Apparently the NRL is even worse when it comes to prize money
  23. amazing what predictive text can do ?
  24. Better overall team than the Bulldogs ... yes... but they had a glorious month... we may not. Richmond...last year... probably a bit below... Their last 5-6 weeks of the home and away season was seriously impressive which mean they finished top 4... we did not. On the other hand Richmond are probably above us by around the same margin that Adelaide were better than Richmond last year. Who knows what the next three weeks will bring. I am expecting a win tonight but after that ?????
  25. yeah ... I know that but it was on a hovercraft chasis so they could do simulated wheelies in the middle of the ground
