  1. Kennedy and darling ineffective so far. West coast not exactly starring. Sidebottom...so good.... remind me what draft year was he
  2. Starting to see a glimmer of hope as the road moves from a sheep path to a reasonably defined four wheel drive rut. Go Dees
  3. I think Richmond would have their measure.. GWS need space.. Have been to see them play a few sides and if you can crowd them thus stopping the run and give they are susceptible. It's an interesting discussion re this evening's game as to who has the better chance of knocking off Richmond in the Prelim thus giving us the chance at the holy grail.
  4. That was definitely a different Giants side... Glad they are on the other side of the ledger (until the GF of course). Swans were flattered by the scoreboard... probably should have been over at half time like our game should have last night. Now for the battle of the Birds in the West. PS. I can see a new rule at the end of next season about use of the boot to fend off a player... not a good look
  5. GWS playing all over the Swans but not getting any reward. Buddy looking very ordinary
  6. Half time between Richmond and Essendon in the VFL ... 34-27 with Essendon leading
  7. not sure they even have replay rights these days
  8. Should not be overly difficult getting tickets for next week... but a Collingwood v Melbourne preliminary (if it happens) may be a harder task. Should we end up against WCE in a prelim in Perth I have no idea. As an aside have Collingwood done anything special (viewing wise) for their Melbourne fans tonight
  9. Might have been an outside chance if there had been a VFL game today for the potential ins but given otherwise no change. Hard to get a form line on the two teams from the debacle earlier in the season but I think on more recent form we would go in slight favourites. Cannot afford to miss so many easy ones though. Mind you the Cats missed a few as well but nowhere near as many as we did.
  10. Must say that I tend to agree simply because I think WCE can take Richmond out in the preliminary. Long way to go but fingers crossed. The Sydney Derby is strangely irrelevant. Will barrack for the Swans simply because I fear a resurgent GWS as they get their stars back.
  11. 19 degrees and light winds is the present prediction for next Friday. Cannot see any changes. Ironic that there is no VFL match for the fringe to push their case.
  12. Wonderful night.... so proud
  13. Great last quarter. Now for the Hawks
  14. Stating the obvious but the next five minutes decides this game
  15. Should have... could have but we haven't. ..... So frustrating
  16. Need to capitalize on this quarter and deny them hope
  17. yep.. apparently played 6 games for the Casey senior squad and was then delisted at the end of the 2011 season after only one season. Went to Ohio State for 4 years and now playing for one of the top NFL teams. Great story
  18. Former Aussie Rules player Cam Johnston has left fans in awe with an incredible performance on debut for the Philadelphia Eagles. Johnston, who grew up playing Aussie rules and was drafted by the Melbourne Demons in 2011, is battle-hardened for the pressure of the NFL after spending four years punting for Ohio State University in front of home crowds of more than 100,000. https://au.sports.yahoo.com/bazooka-leg-aussie-stuns-america-nfl-debut-042649020.html
  19. Interesting aside to last nights game was the ruck duels ... or more appropriately... the irrelevance of the ruck duels. Tends to support the idea that no specialist ruck is better than a mediocre one who doesn't impact around the ground.
  20. would be very disappointed if he gets more than a year. His form is barely acceptable bar one game. Stretch is way in front of him and I would expect another mid fielder in the draft. The only thing going for him he that he now has the body strength to avoid being pushed off the ball. One year more at most.
  21. way too slow... could not help but wonder where all that break away speed was that they used to smash us in similar conditions
  22. that is the key perhaps... WCE to beat Toiges and then the GF against a nervous WCE. Lot of dreamin' though before those ducks are all in a row
  23. Feeling good against the Hawks... if we get there. GWS play a possession game reliant upon great skills albeit they play a lot faster then Hawthorn. We were able to shut down GWS so hopeful we could do the same against the Hawks. Tigers deny teams the corridor which is so important to quick ball movement. Frankly I had expected a better game from Hawthorn.
