  1. "Stale" is a good description .. as a player would you be wondering about the incessant boundary tactics when the rest of the comp has moved onto fast corridor play. If the "lose the clearance and get them on the rebound" is a real strategy it's laughable against the better teams
  2. just watch Casey today we'll play the boundary and bomb it forward. Even have the left side kick out. Do we ever practice anything different ... even for a quarter or two at VFL level let alone at AFL level
  3. There's little at Casey.. perhaps they will get desperate and try Joel Smith up front Bowey out allows Sparrow back in Could well be no change
  4. Gameplan and coaching lost that one. The irony is that Port weren't that good. We're going nowhere while Goody has them playing like robots
  5. nah we have CAS Corridor Aversion Syndrome
  6. mmmm this is close may need to take a quiet walk...........
  7. there's a light !!
  8. definitely worth a discussion mid week this is where we have elite players... not just good ones ... but we are being continually beaten
  9. the unfortunate thing is that many of us could see this coming for the last few weeks. There's something missing Harmes type players are lacking or is it that they are playing "robot football"
  10. unfortunately this is it... he's a systems man The contra quick ball movement teams require a man on man game plan and then you play system. Anyway let's see how this and the next two games go
  11. how about owning the corridor for once.... it's how you score
  12. Play the corridor Goody !! it's wet
  13. Win the next 3 and we are a real contender. 2 out of 3 and we're up there. 1 out of 3 and questions will be asked. Zero out of 3... insert your own conclusions Big Game tonight !!
  14. I've said it before but it's not in their interest to promote the VFL. Double the attendances to 2k and you need more toilets, attendants etc etc. Ideally you could select say 4 grounds .. Vic Park, Port Melbourne etc etc and get them to 5k mini stadiums but until then thank heavens for the streaming coverage we now get. It's a pity because it's a great product for those who want to watch high class football in a relaxed and informal setting
  15. Has been 4.8mm registered at West Terrace but only 2.2mm at the airport. Rain radar shows lots of small rain patches heading towards Adelaide. Will be greasy I expect http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDR643.loop.shtml#skip
  16. Crows are a real chance against the Dogs. A cold wet day on Mars favours their direct playing game as against the tall forward play of the Dogs
  17. Go onto the club site and look for an entertainment package... around $200 IIRC
  18. Bulldogs have a nice little deal going with their Ballarat games. Reportedly they get $1M from the State Government to play there. Could we have a game in say sunny Mildura. The irony is that the ground capacity in Ballarat is so small most Dog supporters don't bother with the trip
  19. Salem's return smacks of over reaching given what happened last year. Hope it ends well. My guess is that if the game permits he will be subbed off mid third quarter by Jordon
  20. any news as to whether Salem was on the plane
  21. Put yourself in the position of North Melbourne forward Nick Larkey. He turns 25 next month. He has been in the AFL for six years. He’s played 80 games; of those 80 he’s won just 19. When he plays on Saturday, he will do so under the guidance of his fourth coach in 16 games. The prime years of his career are being wasted. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/the-decision-north-players-must-make-after-clarkson-bombshell-20230518-p5d9f8.html No one could blame any North Melbourne player who wanted to leave. By Kane Cornes - didn't take long Is North now in free fall?
  22. yep Not my choice but if you think of Petty as the up the ground forward it makes sense.
  23. Doubt it If we have a Republic Day it will be a fixed date and will replace Australia Day (but not on 26 January)
  24. The Monarchy Holiday will be gone within ten years. Will they keep the day as a public holiday or move it? Who knows It now sits in or near to School holidays so they may look for another day to spread the economic benefit
