  1. This game is about percentage...while margin is important, it's the for and against (numerator and denominator) that count. 100 to 50 is my wish A five point win next week against the Blues could see the % go down so this is a big one. Would like a Brisbane loss perhaps but then again there's the draft pick
  2. Oh no.. it will be a weekly if not daily injury watch
  3. Six weeks.... Prelim final return My guess is that they're conservative and he'll be back a week earlier if needed
  4. Strange sub... Hibberd in at some stage and Bowey forward perhaps
  5. Both Hawks and Pies are corridor teams which tends to clog up the corridor itself. Because Pies are usually more skilful than their opponents they win. When the skills let you down though.... You lose
  6. That would have been interesting... A trade by the Eagles for pick 2 is just not the same as trading pick 1
  7. Very interesting......
  8. I think you will find that the deal was with the MCC Trust which may have members appointed by the Government but they're not the Govt The economic benefit of a non interstate team GF is relatively small in the scheme of events. Anyway it's not moving for a few years or until someone needs the money
  9. Money can unlock anything. The GF is a big event in the scheme of things which the MCC got for very little. Every third year in another city (highest bidder) could see a deal done
  10. The Carlton v Saints game could be a key game to shaping the 8. If the Blues win and teams presently outside the 8 (Sydney, Geelong) lose the Blues will be 6 points clear with only 4 games left to catch up. Mathematically possible and of course the Blues play us next week
  11. That's a classic example of the fix being put in.. The only interesting question is who suggested it
  12. If he'd kicked 2 of those 3 shots on goal most would be screaming his praises
  13. Will we look back on this team selection and say it cost us our finals series a la 2022. Time may tell
  14. I can't recall the last time when 5 games out from season's end that the performance of teams below us were almost irrelevant to our long term position. Port and Brisbane are the main games in town Let the others scrap....
  15. Tigers have put the cue in the rack. Martin and Cotchin out.... Managed Lucky Bulldogs
  16. No problem with the old VFA clubs in the comp. It's the byes and the reduced number of games that kill the comp. Given the absence of WA and SA from the comp there's still room for at least 4 non aligned clubs
  17. It's bye 2 that I have difficulty with. You have 18 games for all clubs and you have completed the fist bye. Then you have five games in which to complete the second bye for all clubs. You could accelerate the second bye for some clubs but then you would have a ladder for a lot of the year where some clubs have played 2 games less than others. Of course if you drop the last five clubs out of the comp after the completion of 18 games you don't need a second bye.
  18. fibre to the premises and mesh wifi https://www.tomsguide.com/us/what-is-mesh-wifi-router,news-24580.html Google nest is cheap Orbi is the Rolls Royce
  19. I remember my younger days along the River Spey. Had a chat with a guy about the cost of fishing. Even then it was phenomenal with a big extra charge if you caught one. Reminds me of an old contract for friendly navies using the US Naval gun firing range off Hawaii. So much per day but an extra $200k if you hit the target !!! I guess you were supposed to just miss
  20. Now that Lance F has retired and assuming Sydney can't make the 8 there will probably be little interest in our match. I like Saturday early afternoon but we'll see
  21. Kayo is a great service but it's dying as sports are cherry picked by other streaming services. My guess is that F1 will be the next to go when that deal is up for renewal. For those having difficulties with Kayo blame your ISP or more likely your home wifi. Unlike movie streaming services kayo buffers only about 30 seconds of program. Movies might buffer 2 minutes or more. If your wifi suffers a minor outage which you would generally never notice while browsing or streaming TV the impact on a live sports stream is almost immediate. The answer is FTTP and a mesh router. You'll never have a problem with buffering again
  22. Sorry the trigger for the first test is a simple visual check of the TV footage. Even if not clear the duty of the health professional is to err on the side of caution. It's medical care 101... not brain surgery (deliberate pun)
  23. Wow LH Holidaying in Glasgow... Not sure what to say Bloody hot here on the equator..... ice in one's vodka and tonic quickly disappears and the local whisky is terrible Enjoy yourself
  24. that's a good discussion point and relevant to teams like MFC ever catching the big boys. There is no doubt that North of old were an entertaining and successful team. Why did they not catch on whereas Hawthorn did ? Was it simply the weight of premiership numbers or was there something else
  25. weather for Hobart on Sunday is light winds (15-20kph) Of course last Sunday there was little wind at the MCG and it blew a gale at Casey
