Good luck to Jack and nice to see someone who appears to be a hard worker get a shot at the big time Personally I’m not sure what the strategy is here from a list perspective he is not a genuine small forward imo and is arguably too small to really make it as a midfielder at AFL level I hope our list managers have chosen the right bloke as I think you could mount a pretty strong argument for a couple of others who are available atm

Apologies in advance if I'm incorrect but was he ever interviewed and made public statements trashing the club and demanding a trade to enhance his brand? If so, I haven't seen those maybe you could copy them here for all to see Seems to me there was a lot of media commentary asserting things but no firm evidence of much at all Was he annoyed about something? probably Did he have cause/justification to be annoyed? probably Would certain high-ranking officials have left if his concerns whatever they were be completely without substance? probably not I really see no point in saying anything negative about a guy that seems to have refocused and appears fully on board with the mission to get us back where we belong - competing at the pointy end of the season If he is not our best footballer on the field he is damn close to it. I prefer to believe he did what he did to shake up the place which seemed to be becoming more than a bit comfortable with mediocrity

Given recent departures at senior level within the club maybe some potting was warranted and deserved ? We may never know but it sure seems odd that his concerns about the direction of the club coincided with others leaving

This probably makes sense and will give us some more run and possibly speed through the midfield if Langers can adjust to that role when the real stuff starts. It also suggests to me at least they have another mix of wingers to take on 2025 given Windsor seems destined to go to HBF. I assume that includes Sharp, Lindsay, Howes, Laurie, Billings

He has proven to be up to AFL level at times albeit injuries have significantly reduced his games played - bad luck or vulnerable body who knows Its quite bizarre that you sing the praises of a player that hasn’t played a single game and still doesn’t really look like they will fire a shot anytime soon, if at all, but openly criticise someone that has some runs on the board I hope they can both make it but if I was betting I’d put my money on McAdam to make a bigger contribution to the senior team than Jeffo in 2025

Jed Adam’s was a long way off the pace last year and I haven’t heard too many people attending training suggest he is knocking the door down to get an AFL debut anytime soon If he was owning Jeffo then what does this suggest about Jeffo and how he is progressing - if he’s being easily beaten by Adam’s I have doubts that he can compete at AFL level Hopefully they are both looking much better

If any of this is true then I’d prefer the club sits him down and makes it clear that if he wants to get to WA then the MFC will deal with whoever offers the best deal for us and it will happen at a time of our choosing while he is still contracted And that could very well be WC not Flogmantle

Which is precisely the reason it’s premature to be saying he is going anywhere imho Signed less than 2 years ago , loves the club , coach and team mates - I’d say we stay in the window and he will likely stick around but if he is home sick and wants Perth it cannot be just Flogmantle that is an option as that would be unfair from him

Strange it’s not Casey maybe this ship has sailed or perhaps it was never in port

I suspect the reason most people have low expectations of us is 1. We do not have a proven tall KPF that can be relied upon to kick 40-50 goals. Fritta is great but he is not a KPF and Roo might be that player but at this point in time he is more potential than actual results 2. Our midfield is on paper at least very strong but there will be doubts on whether Trac and Clarry will be at their best , can Max stay on the park for most of the season. Everyone saw last season that if we lose one or two of those 3 we start to look a bit vulnerable in the midfield. Playing kossie and or Riv through there might help with depth but it’s not unfair for people to see this as a potential weakness Overall my take is that it’s an incredibly even competition you need a little bit of luck - we didn’t have much of that in 2024 - if we get our fair share I think we can and should play finals

If so why did he sign his last contract to stay put? He could have left then or am I missing something

John Nicholls had a backside that was the size of the goal square - he would t make an AFL the way the game is played now imho Back to Will Verrall I was really upbeat about him after his first pre season practice game (albeit just a cameo) but he hasn’t really progressed the way I’d expected - he just doesn’t seem to have the spring he appeared to have and without that I tend to agree with others that he will struggle to be competitive as a ruckman. I would like to see him trial at Casey as a KPP and see if he can hold a position down there

Neale is a wonderful and courages person and this award is richly deserved His strength in adversity and positivity should be an inspiration to all A great man in a great country

Not sure how this is relevant to this thread but how about you do the win/loss ratio over the past 5 to 7 years just for some balance I’ve followed this team for many decades and frankly what happened over 20 years ago hardly seems relevant to much at all

Doesn’t ever seem to be a problem for some teams I really hope Kozzy stays it would be a very bitter pill to swallow loosing both he and LJ to flogmantle It will also be devastating for many young demon supporters
