		Leek Aleer

Living in Sydney I get to a few Giants games and my view on Aleer is that he (currently) is no world beater, but he does do some things well and has upside potential. What he does do well is spoil when free to run and jump at the ball, he is also pretty decent marking the ball when not wrestling with an opponent. His disposal is generally ok and he is quite quick. Personally, I'd be selecting him in our D50 before Adams who seems to have some friends in the FD but I'm far from convinced at this stage.

I am hoping that if his answer is no then the same message is instantly conveyed to our pretend chef

Welcome to the MFC Brody - at least we know you will have a red-hot go and not be easily pushed aside.

		Farewell Clayton Oliver

It is really hard being a long-suffering supporter of this club that keeps finding new ways to destroy my faith. It feels like this trade period we are simply setting ourselves up for failure and making our direct competitors stronger - I assume there is a bigger picture and grand plan but for me I'm struggling to see it atm.

		Welcome to Demonland: Steven King

Well, it's about time that changed then isn't it. How many Ruckman have been coaches in that period and failed? How many non Ruckman have coached in that period and failed? Let's try and remain glass half full until we see how things play out

		Welcome to Demonland: Steven King

I wish him well and at this stage this seems like a sensible appointment He has a very good CV and has worked closely with some good senior coaches. he is currently in charge of GFC midfield who seem to go ok. I'm not having a pot at Goody but having watched a few of King's past interviews he appears to be pretty capable at handling the media and answering questions clearly. Time will tell if this puts us back in the race but I'm feeling more confident in our chances next season having made this change than if we had done nothing.

		Rumours

Fair call - I'm not worried who we are chasing but if we get to next season with no new faces/options in our KPF stocks I will be seriously worried. If you look at our current options on the list I doubt very much whether any of them would get a start with any of this year's finals teams. That must be a concern for everyone I would have thought.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?

Not having a go at you at all No. 31 but there seems to be a reasonable number of people on this forum happy to take a swipe at the club from time to time - personally if it is deserved, I have no problem with that. When it is undeserved then that is clearly different. Nobody here really knows the real story behind Goodwin not coaching the final 3 games - either way I don't think it makes much difference to anything as we were going nowhere either way. She can have an opinion, we can all have our own. When we stop being able to voice them without being attacked is when we really need to worry.

		Rumours

To suggest Amiss is Weidemen 2.0 is a big stretch. Is he worth a first rounder plus Tholstrup I'd say probably not. But Tholstrup to date hasn't really fired a shot and the jury is still out on whether he will. Amiss is an upgrade on anyone we currently have on our list as a tall KPF (Fritta is not a KPF). This has and continues to be an area of need that so far, we haven't fixed.

		Selwyn Griffiths

I'm not pointing the finger at the Griffiths though. I don't think any of us know exactly the reason why so many have dropped off but it's a fact and someone needs to either find a way to fix it or maybe it is time to farewell some club favorites that potentially don't have the hunger or will to give 100%

Watched this bloke pretty closely live in the final game of the season v GWS Looked a bit slow to me - if we think we need a defensive mid/tagger ok I suppose but I would not want to be giving up anything more than a second-round pick at best

I watched the 2021 GF replay recently and if you don't think some of our more experienced players have dropped off in terms of speed/fitness then we must be living in a parallel universe

I'm not too fussed as to the reason our collective and in some cases individual fitness has dropped away. I'd like to address that asap so we can really start to compete with the better teams when it really matters.

		Selwyn Griffiths

Did he say this "Then we won the flag the next year, and then he left, and we bowed out in two straight finals and it’s gone downhill since" How do you interpret that statement? Players dropped the ball? Fitness program not up to scratch?
-

		Selwyn Griffiths

Not saying our fitness is as good it was when Burgess was there but seriously Oliver needs to look at his own "standards" before he starts suggesting others within the club need to do better Part of the problem with our club is that they talk a big game more often than play one

		POSTGAME: Rd 24 vs Collingwood

It was always going to end like this Narrow defeat clutched from the jaws of victory and handing the most despised pack of deadbeats a double chance which frankly I don't think they deserve. My only solace is that despite them making finals I can't see them doing much other than filling the coffers of the corrupt AFL Any new coach worth his salt should be able to tweak this emerging game style and hopefully restore some semblance of confidence amongst a number of senior players that clearly have totally lost any idea how to win games A few months no doubt will restore my broken faith in this club - we have been here many times before Our list still has some glaring holes - I haven't seen much evidence in recent years of us being able to add recycled talent to make a meaningful difference - hopefully that's all about to change

		2025 MRO & Tribunal

I tend to agree that a meaningful financial punishment may be the best way to address this type of issue - the one caveat being the clubs could cover it somehow which would defeat the purpose if they did that. I'm not a particularly big fan or Rankine or Adelaide necessarily but it seems these types of suspensions are way OTT I get to a few games every season, some unfortunately do not have civilized MFC members in attendance 😀 If the AFL banned any supporter that verbally abused players, umpires or other supporters then we'd see a serious drop off in crowd numbers
