Adelaide's apparent 'lack of interest' could be because: 1) they think he will go in the top 40 so not allowed to match 2) their only draft picks are: 46, 56, and 59 so even if we went after 40 they have limited draft currency to fulfill their draft obligations of 3 draftees/rookie upgrades. They have a full hand of 2023 picks plus an extra F2 (NM) and F3 (Coll) but may not be willing to use any of them to match a bid after pick 40...are they targetting someone better than Keeler in 2023? 3) On a 'needs' basis they think they have enough forward and ruck options and have other positions in mind for a 'needs' basis pick this year. They all look like good reasons to me.

I agree it isn't ground breaking. But Max carries on, all fan boy, about Blicvas and Stanley sounding somewhat in awe. Fortunately he said: "... we can plan what we want to do but, in the end, it’s what Goody...wants us to do as well." So hopefully Goodwin has them performing better than two makeshift ruckman and we won't be just copycats!

Were the North Geelong scores correctly reported: No goals by either team after quarter time😲 Given the number of i50 Geelong should have won by a country mile. North's high tackle count doesn't seem to have helped them get the ball i50 to score. Glad I didn't watch it.

While it is good to see the players hard it at it already I wonder about the wisdom of it. There was a fair bit of evidence that we kept the training up in the 2021/2022 pre-season and even Max said it was like 2021 and 2022 rolled into one long season. This seemed to impact our ability to play out games after the mid point this season.. Acknowledging the short break after the GF contributed to this but not sure we had the balance right last year. Hope this year we have learnt from that and re-balanced the training regimes.

Generally agree but if they lock the ball in their F50 and pressure the ball carrier as they did in the GF, we won't get much opportunity to make the most of our strengths and ball movement.

Updated for JVR 2 year contract extension until 2025. Based on the list that @Demonlandpublished above Tomlinson is now shown as OOC in 2024. Really nervous about this game. In the GF the beat us by shutting down our space and stopping our ball movement by not going directly for the ball but going the tackle instead, especially in their F50. Even without Phillips and with a proppy Randall they will be a formidable force if we aren't ready for and have counter tactics for their high pressure game style.

Is it possible to post their list of player 'contract status'? I assume the the article is about sal cap space? If so many of our more highly paid players: May, Lever, Gawn, Viney, Brown, Mc Donald, Tomlinson come out of contract in the next 1 - 3 years and will then be on a lot less (or retired) leaving sufficient room for the up and coming players. I have little doubt it has all been factored in by the club. There is no way we will have the Coll sal cap problem. If the article is talking about breaking into the best 22 then yeah for the next year or two it will be a challenge especially for the small to medium players.

And it is so easy to be seduced. This year 3 of the top 10 players in the 2015 draft were traded for 3rd or 4th round picks with not many games to their names after seven years.

Not a phantom draft but thought this is a good spot for this article: We asked 16 AFL prospects who they’d take with Pick 1. The clear favourite wasn’t the unanimous choice Interesting reading as to why those four players would select themselves at No 1. Unusual to see that sort of confidence. Could even be seen to lack humility. But good on them for backing themselves. Given GWS have pick 1 it will be Cadman unless they bid on Ashcroft forcing Lions to match.

We are closing in on a top 2 finish: Essendon and Eagles at Casey. Keep up our recent 4-quarter game and we should win well and build our % further. Hoping that Collingwood beat or get close to Brisbane in round 10 lowering their % and give us a crack at top spot! Ideally top of the ladder finish is best as that team is most likely to host a Home Grand Final. It would be a massive advantage if that was us. It wouldn't be at Casey so we don't get the Home ground advantage but we would get the home crowd advantage to cheer the team over the line. And, it is about time an AFLW grand final was in Melbourne!

On the subject of not knowing if we've lost a DL'er to the other side. The day after we were eliminated from the finals I had a pm from @old deeto let me know that he wouldn't be on DL anymore, to not worry as he hadn't died. I confess to shedding a tear as I would miss him on DL. Well folks, it was the fastest resurrection you have ever seen! Within a mere 24 hours he was back posting🤩💕

LOL! I felt like a lost soul when I changed my name and had to wait a whole month to become Lucifers Hero again, except that the 'new' name didn't have an apostrophe which needless to say was promptly picked up by @Demonstone. I've been meaning to put the apostrophe back but I kind of like that it riles him😉 Lucifer's Hero was created at the time JImmy died. For me he was a Hero not for any particular thing but for how he lived his life and gave his all to everything he did: Demons, Reach, Family etc. I toyed with preceding Hero with 'Dees', 'Devil', 'Demons' but 'Lucifer' sounded more fun and cheeky. I'm not sure when or who shortened it to 'Luci'. I think it was one of these rascals😉: @Bitter but optimistic@Demonstone@daisycutterwho would of course write 'luci' as he only uses lower case! It is an endearing moniker and I really like that many DL's have adopted it.
