Looks like we will have competition to go up the order. Carlton have put #10 on the market and will use future picks to sweeten the deal. So if our highest pick from Freo is 13 we will need to add more 'sweeteners' to a deal than Carlton does.

Fair point that 27 will slide to 25. But Brisbane didn't have 25 at the time I made that post in which I was saying to just give Coll 27. So I agree no need to sweeten the Grundy deal I could only see a sweetener for Coll optics and give them 54 which we won't use.

They could swap with GWS for 12 and 15 +/- equalisers. Use 15 and give us 12 and their own F1st!!

Agreed. Meanwhile Freo are weakening their draft hand wanting to trade in 2 GCS players. Unless they can somehow swap F1st round picks (and others to get the right balance) as part of the trade their chances of getting a deal done for LJ are slipping. So we get pick 13 and GCS F1st. It works in theory but can't see them doing that.

They also have 15 from the Brisbane swap. And the Hopper deal, while stalled, is yet to come.

Isn't that like giving Bedford away for next to nothing? It is 6 spot slide in a very even draft. Every chance a player we would take at 21 will be there at 27. And if we get 21 Coll will demand it. Let them have 27 and we get a fair deal for Bedford.

I reckon we will throw in whatever pick we get for Bedford and we are asking for better than #44 from GWS (the pick they received for Hill).
