  1. If we stick to the 36 senior and 6 A-Rookie mix for our 42 allowed players we have 1 senior list spot left and 3 A-Rookies. So a high probability that Baker will be delisted but could come back as a rookie if not picked up elsewhere. My hunch is the former.
  2. Probably one on each side.
  3. Reckon the AFL needs to go further, especially now that in contract new draftees are wanting to 'go home' or pre draft players won't even sign up. They probably all want to go to top 8 teams.
  4. F1 is future first round pick, F2 is future second round pick etc etc. And you are correct both are tie to Freo's final positon.
  5. That is understandable. He played only 10 games this year.
  6. Several players at the top end of this year’s AFL draft pool are considered flight risks, limiting the ability of some clubs to land the best talent available with their picks. A growing number of players are unwilling to be drafted to clubs outside their home states, and according to one recruiting boss, some are even outright saying that they want to avoid moving interstate in pre-draft discussions. fewer-players-to-chose-from-flight-risks-affecting-afl-draft This has to be a red flag for the AFL in terms of draft integrity and not letting new draftees change clubs especially when still under contract.
  7. No problem. Draft picks can be swapped right up until just before the draft. Then again on during the draft.
  8. You can change it. Go into your account. Chose 'Account Settings'. Lots of info appears one of which is 'Display Name' along side which is 'change'. Click on it and away you go
  9. From AFL trade update: Dees' busy trade period Melbourne only began chatting to Josh Schache three days before completing a trade for the former No.2 draft pick. The Demons got the ball rolling early on Wednesday's trade deadline day by executing deals that farewelled Sam Weideman to Essendon and welcomed Schache from the Western Bulldogs. Speaking on Continental Tyres AFL Trade Radio, Melbourne's list manager Tim Lamb said the deals were inked, only agreeing to Weideman's trade request once they had a "similar type player" on the hook. "We spoke with Josh on Sunday," Lamb said. "Josh is a player with great versatility. He's 200cm, he's an elite runner, really well skilled, (he) can play forward, back, ruck, he's really versatile. "With Mitch Brown retiring, Majak Daw retiring, we've lost a little bit of depth in our talls department."

  11. I would be surprised. Eagles couldn't prise him out of Port as part of the Rioli deal and Georgiades is from WA.
  12. Well done! Got your wish!
  13. 13, 37 I am assuming 86 is used to promote Chandler
  14. Smith passes the NDH test. Hunter doesn't.
  15. Have a look at the top of page 1 on this thread: I haven't had time to update it for the the Grundy trade but everything else you would want to know is there for the draft and trade. To help read the chart for list numbers start at the bottom left corner and note the list size is fixed at 42 and 2 B rookie3s. But the 42 can be have a flexible number of seniors and A rookies. For the chart I have assumed the current mix of 26 senior players and 6 A rookies. Will do the final update after COB today. Any questions fire away
  16. True and we have a few who have made a long term committement: Petty, ANB, Sparrow etc. I was referring to the players that go after 1-4 years especially top 10/first round draftees of which there have been many in the last 5 years.
  17. Can't see them both wearing our beloved red and blue next year. 😉
  18. Most 1st round draftees sign a new contract early when they join a club and usually for at least two years. He would be a high priority for early re-signing (along with Kozzie) so let's see what JVR does. If he defers talks or signs for just one year as Jackson did the jungle drums will start beating! Loudly!!
  19. We should assume any SA or WA player is a flight risk!. Especially if they are high end draftees who show some success in their first few years. Their recruiters get closer to their managers. schools, families and junior clubs long before being drafted. The player will have barracked for one of the two teams. 'Going home' of top end talent is happening quite frequently now. New draftees see how easy it is, be they in or out of contract, to 'go home'. So I would expect the 'go home' players will increase further from now on. That is not to say we shouldn't draft them. But: Caveat emptor!
  20. We have 34 senior and 3 A-rookies ie 37 players. We are allowed a max of 42 so we can't have 5 senior list spots and 1 A rookie. But I get your point - there are any number of combinations of player types within the rules. To keep it simple I assumed the current mix which I think is what we will stick to mainly because there is less pressure on the sal cap.
  21. From foxfooty: Essendon is wanting to effectively flip Aaron Francis for Sam Weideman in a three-team deal involving Sydney and Melbourne, reports AFL Media. Francis and Weideman, who were both taken inside the first 10 picks in the 2015 draft, have been linked to the the Swans and Bombers respectively for third-round picks as they look for more senior opportunities. AFL Media reports Melbourne would prefer the third rounder to come from Essendon though, while Sydney’s selection is more likely to be in this year’s draft, meaning a pick swap is also on the cards. Sydney have: 14, 17, 37, 75. Ess have: 4, 22, 42, 62, 68 Technically Weideman is worth more in picks than the others as he is in contract while the others haven't been offered a contract. tbh I'm not sure of letting Sam go if we are going to replace him with Schache. Not much saving in $ and not sure what the benefit is in a like-forl-like. We would have to offer Schache two years Ironically if we get Schache to replace Weideman that is picks 2, 9 and 6 (Francis) from the 2015 draft all changing clubs at the same time for 'equal' value.. Not a good draft for early selections of tall players.
  22. Telling for what he doesn't say: no thank you to the club, coaches or staff. Good on him for being genuine.
