  1. All the more reason why we need to change. I mentioned elsewhere 'they have become us' terms of game style and ball movement. Byrnes also had intel on our fitness and loading programs under the master Darren Burgess. Scott mentioned during the bye they were doing 'loading' differently this year and I couldn't help thinking that was in part due to Byrne's input.

  3. I would rather it be interstate than Victoria otherwise it would be easy for some Vic teams to get extra games at their 'Home' stadium so the bigger G teams will do well as will some Marvel tenants.
  4. They will find out next year!!
  5. Not sure it is the time slot that makes a difference! Comparisons to the 'night' games of 2020 and 2021 figures, aren't really vallid as they both had all Vic teams and Victoria was in lock down with a metro night curfew! Why are 2022 the lowest of all time: Beautiful spring day, other things to do Two smallish teams with one from interstate Neutral fans didn't care People have gone off football during the covid years Hopefully, they don't use the unusual circumstances of 2020 and 2021 to change the time slot.
  6. One would think all the player managers should be able to corroborate the practical experiences of their charges regarding change of SIM cards and change of abode as they need to keep in touch. One would hope they dug a bit deeper with the player as to why? Not to mention clubs need to let ASADA know where players are at all times and how to contact them. GWS were fined and Whitfield got a 6 month ban for not doing so and he was at the home of a GWS manager. ASADA would also have records. Even if some are borrowing Essendon's shredder or wiping computers.there should be a bit of documentation around to back up some of the claims.
  7. I know a few people who got a ticket in the ballot, knew that they wouldn't be allowed into the ballot next year if they didn't go yesterday so they went to the G, walked through the gate and went home.
  8. That was me Also mentioned that Sydney, like Geelong have gone from defensive and control football to faster ball movement like us and we have become more like them.
  9. This GF is a real struggle because it brings back the pain of not experiencing this live last year. Its fantastic that we won last year but it hurts to have been denied that joy and seeing what the GF fans have this week makes me jealous.
  10. If Geelong win, I will stop watching on the final siren (or earlier if they have it sewn up). My fervent hope other than a Syd win is that Dangerfield does NOT win the NSM.
  11. Yze was the hot favourite for GWS then pipped at the post by Kingsley. Ess are waiting for Caracella to get back from overseas and for the GF to be over when Brad Scott will make his intentions known and it looks likely he will put his hat in the ring. Yze is not over the line yet!
  12. @Demonstonewould be very proud of this post🙂 But OldDee is two words with lower case o and d😉
  13. That is doable for Freo: 2022 first (#13) and first 2023 (#11 - #14) first and North's 2023 second (#19 - #21) from the Logue/Tucker trade and we may need to give something back; a 3rd round pick maybe... That is not dissimilar to Kelly to WCE who gave two first and two second round picks: #14, 18, 24 and 33 but got back #52 and a future 3rd round pick. While Jackson is worth a lot more than Kelly I'd do the two firsts and one second deal.
  14. That surprises me. I kinda expect that from a Tabloid and other 'ambulance chasers' but the ABC... So, the accused is done for either way: 1) no response to email/phone and it sounds like they are dodging the subject but 2) given little time to adequately respond and have their reputation trashed and career potentially ruined. The best anyone can do in those circumstances is to deny everything and that creates another click bait headline making the accused look worse.
  15. Fair enough. But 24 hours notice in an email sent to his office which he may not check regularly during the off season. I wonder if the phone message was to his office phone or mobile or how much more time was offered. For me the opportunity provided to respond to such serious allegations was very limited. To me it looks the equivalent of a journalist thrusting a microphone in someone's face demanding explanations on something they know little if anything about.
  16. According to Caroline Wilson, the journalist sent questions to the 'General' email address for North and Brisbane on Monday ie less than 48 hours before publication. Not sure how well they are staffed post season. I didn't get the impression Clarkson and Fagan were directly contacted by the journalist. Maybe an email to an info box is enough these days. Given the nature of the allegations I would have thought more would have been done to avoid blindsiding them.
  17. Not sure for the PF. The GF is about $500 per ticket regardless of where the seat is.
  18. I can rattle off at least a dozen names of public figures who have had their reputations trashed and careers lost because accusations have been made that they have no effective opportunity to combat let alone test in court of law. The court of public opinion takes over.
  19. Link please.
  20. We may not need to. He will probably get a 3 year contract from the Bulldogs and his $500 for 2023 is spread over the contract, say at $350-$400 a year.
  21. If Freo relent and let Lobb go to WB then Tomlinson might form part of the Jackson trade in that WB give Freo a better pick for Lobb instead of giving us a pick for Tomlinson, which in turn 'improves' Freo's compensation to us for Jackson. We may end up 'giving away' Tomlinson for very little but getting his $500k off the books and enabling the Jackson deal will probably be worth it.
  22. Agreed. But do we know that Jackson did have access to the HFC report? I don't recall him quoting it or referring to it which one expect if he did have access. I'd be interested to know one way or the other if he did.
  23. We are nearly half way through the season and I'm watching it go down the gurgler because we can't kick straight and don't play four quarters. We make a great start with accurate kicking and then it stops. In our 3 winning games we have kicked 15.26 squandering precious opportunities to build % while other teams capitalise. I fear we are going to miss a double chance or Home Finals.
  24. Were they? I had the impression the ABC story was based on separate interviews by Jackson with HFC players. According to McLachlan last night on AFL 360 the ABC story had info the HFC report did not and vice versa. If the ABC story was based on a leaked HFC report one would expect the content to not vary.
