I doubt Grundy would go back to SA. He likes the Melbourne 'hipster' life too much. Possibly why he may not go to Geelong. That leaves Dees and Hawks. Hawks can more easily accommodate his $ and Coll trade requirements, given the picks currently known. Guilty of that. In my defence I didn't know he was talking about betting of which I know nothing. Stocks I know a thing or two but the bits FC showed cobbled together didn't have a context. It is good to have it clarified on here. After all that he reckons we can go back-to-back!

Thanks, dworship. I can't remember the sequence of what I did. Sometimes, I tried 'best available' and sometimes 'category 1' and always got Mxx bays. Even when I clicked on an N bay I ended up with tickets in Mxx bays. Maybe I need a lesson🙂 . Hopefully better for the next game.

In this thread I've read that the 'queue' isn't really a queue, getting through is somewhat random. I can vouch for that got through a lot faster on a mobile device than a laptop which shouldn't happen if there was a proper queue. Also someone said that if the system allocates tickets to someone and they don't take them, they don't return to being 'available' for x minutes; don't recall how many. Maybe I got caught up in all that randomness...

Very poor of McLachlan. We've won one premiership in 57 years and struggled for decades. And, what does he even mean by 'overdone'. He clearly doesn't want us to win. I got through at about 10.15/20 having waited half an hour, then selected the Premium Member option and put in two Redleg Member barcodes and requested 1 ticket each. The system sent me through to level 1 in M xx bays. No choice given of bay or seat. I tried several times and each time the system gave me ground level Mxx bays. I assumed all premium tickets had been sold in the first 15 minutes (probably to members buying up to an extra 9 tickets per bar code). Maybe Redleg memberships aren't considered 'premium'...

Last year waiting till after the PF win gave us two weeks of flag flying because of the pre GF bye. Think I'll put them up after we qualify for the PF which could be this week, next week or not at all.

I wrote to the club about allowing 10 tickets per member which could be for non-members or even non demon fans. It was supposed to be a 'Member PreSale. Their response was: All finals tickets are run by the AFL, all decisions regarding 10 additional tickets per barcode is also a decision made entirely by them. We urge you to contact them if you wish to take this complaint further. I might do just that! imv during the 'Members Presale' it should be one ticket per barcode. Clearly the AFL don't care that non members and non dees fans can get tickets and even premium tickets. Pretty ordinary seeing that we have kept paying memberships during covid without any football. I've also concluded that selecting 'The Premium Member' option for barcodes doesn't allocate premium seats. Not sure why they even have it. Maybe it is to make people feel good ala saying we are in a queue for tickets but it turns out to be random. It really is first in best dressed! I wouldn't mind that if there wasn't the 10 ticket per member sale thing going on.

Are you sure they are amongst the swans. It looked like a dees area when Ticketek allocated the seats/bays

Last year I waited until we won the PF to put our colours out...didn't want to jinx our GF chances putting them out earlier. This year, I'm wondering when to put them out: after this week's QF or wait to see if we make or if we win a PF. I'm inclined to wait until we make a PF which could be this week. What are other DL's planning? Can't wait to put out my new very large banner:

No I didn't hear the full text. The little I saw looked like several bits of an interview patched together. Gill is usually very diplomatic so the clip seemed really strange. I've tried to find the source interview but no luck. Most likely click bait!

I saw just a few minutes of FC last night and they showed a clip of McLachlan saying "...they are overcooked.." and then the comment from one of the panelists was something like: "...based on that, if you are Melbourne you may as well take your bat and ball and go home..." It seemed odd the Gill would make such a comment about any finalist let alone the reigning premier that is 2nd on the ladder. The clip looked like it was taken from a broader interview so the context wasn't obvious. Did anyone see it and could you tell if Gill was shutting the door on the Dees chances or was it just FC trying to create click bait.

I would also like to see them come a cropper but Coll hold all the cards. Once DeGoey accepts another club's offer there is little wriggle room for that club. They either pay up in a forced trade ala Geelong and Cameron or they walk away from DeGoey. The latter has never happened for an FA or an out of contract player. They are shaping up to significantly improve their list.

I feel for them also, I'm guessing the AFL give the North Cheer Squad the Sydney squad space then clear out and maybe give unsold tickets to North to give to fans for free/token amount. But they will have the Syd fans on their side.

This should be a very good game vs North who sit atop the ladder. They demolished Freo this week who were a top 4 team last year and we beat the Crows who won the premiership. Reckon it will be dees supporters only as North fans wouldn't get much chance to buy tickets. Would expect Syd fans to barrack for them. Worth getting their early.

If Geelong win this week they will have another fortnight without a game to the PF. Given their last month or so has been little more than training runs and the extensive resting of players during that time, I have my doubts they will be 'match hardened' for a PF. Also, will they have the physical 'resilience' to play through niggles...? With the odd exception, we have chosen the opposite approach to player management/fitness over the last few months of challenging games: play them through niggles and aging. I'm not sure Geelong can go the distance, not because of ageing per se but because they haven't played enough hard at it footy.
