This has got me thinking. I have a relative who is in a nursing home (somewhere within the Golden Mile of Melbourne) - surely having a membership to the MFC would give some of the old folk some comfort in their twilight years? Maybe there are many lapsed members who have been forgotten about? All of these residents could afford an armchair membership. I might pay a visit this weekend.

Just do it. My husband, much to his horror gets a Dees membership every year for Christmas. If he bought me a Collingwood one in return I would shred it.

Just had a chat with a mate(and former Casey player) of Tim Smith. He was just released from hospital last Friday, and there is no talk of any return to football at this stage. He is at home resting. It will definitely be much more than the listed 4-5 weeks. Poor guy - he is obviously shattered.

Not sure if it has been mentioned anywhere and it really deserves its own thread but this game against Hawthorn is the Pink Lady Match supporting the BCNA. There will be 1000's of Pink Lady silhouettes planted in Yarra Park and it is a very moving site. I looked at the MFC web page and could not find it mentioned anywhere but found it on the BCNA page. I am hoping it gets more publicity as the week rolls by. It is very close to my heart as I lost my Mum to breast cancer nearly a year ago. If you are at the game, please make a donation. I realised my error - it was the Collingwood/ St Kilda game I meant.

I went to the Collingwood/ St Kilda game a few weeks ago and thought that was one of the worst games I had ever been to. This is up there with it.

Terrible, terrible umpiring. They are a disgrace.

My son knew Pedo back at his North Melbourne days. Said he loved a couple of quarter pounder and cheese on a regular basis. Times have obviously changed as he is looking very lean ATM.

I'm a bit concerned after being at the Anzac Day game and seeing Essendon live. They were faster than what I expected and held onto the ball well. I am hoping they just looked good because Collingwood were so bad.

So sorry to hear this sad news. My thoughts and prayers are with Jesse and his family. I lost my mum almost a year ago to cancer and it was the worse thing I had ever been though. RIP ??
