  1. I think I was just interested if anything had been reported except the confirmation of the ACL, and then what that means for a timeline. It was round 24, and someone more knowledgeable about these things might know, but isn’t the usual rehab almost 12 months exactly?
  2. Anyone know if he’s doing the standard ACL route, and what his timeline looks like?
  3. I reckon they will. The AFL will quietly change the rules this offseason so that incident can never happen again. Just like the Cripps fiasco. We feel disappointed, but that’s part of the journey. It’ll make it so much sweeter when we get what we all want. Theres no justice in the world - so you’ve just got to dance when it’s your turn to dance. I hated how our season ended, but we are still the best team to support, have the best supporters, and play at easily the best ground.
  4. Yep, he’s definitely a Collingwood supporter, and doesn’t even pretend he isn’t. He’s the same bell end that said De Goey was only a ‘split second’ late when he knocked out that Eagles player - even though he had time to run past the ball, jump, and shoulder charge him in the head AFTER he got rid of the ball. I wish the media had some bite. You can’t have such overt bias in legal decision making. It’s opening the AFL up to a mass of future claims. I hope they get sued into oblivion and someone else takes over the game.
  5. I don’t hate Thursday night games. Admittedly I have no children, and work for myself and set my own schedule, so I’m onboard if they play games on Wednesday mornings. I’ll still go. Work is for suckers.
  6. We feel hard done by as Melbourne supporters, which I think we are entitled to feel in terms of a lot of things not going our way. The Carlton disallowed goal that cost us a home final against an interstate team, the horror show of Angus’ concussion and the subsequent selling of players health for ratings, and the disappointment of killing our on field chances again with an issue that’s been an issue for a painfully long time. I will say that this kind of disillusionment and disappointment was almost my entire experience of being a long term Melbourne supporter up until 2 years ago. I guess the upside is it’s nice to know that things can actually get better.
  7. Yeah fair enough. I don’t doubt that Collingwood deserved the flag, and Bobby Hill was the player of not just that game, but that entire finals series. I think my expectations had more to do with the way Brisbane usually score. They have a lot of very dynamic forwards, so I probably expected more magic from them.
  8. Here’s an interesting stat. 2 of the last 3 premiers have gone from 17th to a Premiership in 2 seasons.
  9. What’s the general opinion about the quality of the game itself? I found it lacking some big moments, and the 3rd quarter was very dull. News media talking about it being one of the greats, but I certainly don’t feel that way. It was close, but a touch devoid of some magic?
  10. Well, today he did, but I thought it was more representative of the mood of the average fan. It felt more about the AFL and tribunal process than anything. 👍
  11. Yep. He got a suspended sentence because the judge said he was ‘highly likely to ever offend again’… and literally the very next day another victim came forward.
  12. One of the things I liked about today’s game was the booing of Maynard. Those were neutral fans who clearly disagree with the handling of that incident, and it was clear to hear on the broadcast.
  13. Good point. Every year a club wins that I hate, and the sun comes up tomorrow and I think to myself ‘right, what’s the club got planned for trades?’.
  14. Brodie lives around the corner from me. He’s a really nice guy (who grows some of the best Lemons in the neighbourhood). Every time I see him I’m always amazed at how thin he is. There’s nothing to the modern player, even the big blokes. He’s a really good player, that’s worked super hard for his chance and is incredibly professional. I’d love him at the Dees.
  15. I really hope the story of that game is the advantage interpretation. There’s absolutely no justification for how that was to the Lions advantage. That was a pure, out and out, mistake by the umpire.
  16. Casboult re-signed with GCS months ago. If you’re going to go to the effort of posting pictures of players you might want to first google their contract situation.
  17. This sounds like a Mad Monday I’d love! The music would be so on point - a mix of union songs and disco bangers.
  18. If this eventuates no club would agree to take on part payment of a players contract ever again. I simply can’t see a world in which the AFL want that to happen.
  19. He has the audacity to ask in that story ‘why journalists aren’t held to account’ for reporting what happened at Gus’ house the next day. He’s a dumb as the come. It’s the journalists that got you off you thick piece of [censored]. You should be sending them flowers.
  20. It’s so weird that in that footage of him having a kick with kids in the park he doesn’t once jump past the ball and ram his shoulder into the head of one of the children rendering him unconscious for 2 minutes. Absolute dog act, sanctioned by the AFL.
  21. He would know what his brother told them they needed to do in 2019 to stay relevant. They instead spent 4 years going nowhere and now have their hand out. They haven’t made a single decision in 5 years to try and be competitive today. Their goal is to stack the future. That the AFL is encouraging it means clubs will continue to do this until told otherwise. I hope it backfires spectacularly.
