I reckon the Houston trade went cold for a number of reasons - but the club was probably expecting to part with pick 10-14 as its first round pick. When that came in significantly over the last 4 weeks of the season the price became unreasonable. There’s a huge difference between ‘first round’ and top 5. If he does move it’ll be interesting to watch what the eventual cost is.

2024 Phantom Drafts
It’s also interesting how many at the very top of this draft are small in comparison to contemporary AFL midfielders.

Time to go Goody?
BBP where did you read this? I’m keen to investigate it 👍

Dusty Retires Immediately-ish?
I saw absolutely nothing this year that convinced me Dusty should have played in 2024, let alone 25 and 26. I don’t think this is the right vibe for The Suns either. They need to build their own culture now.

AFLW: Rd 03 vs North Melbourne
Looked a fair way off them that quarter. Ball movement too stagnant (mostly due to skill), and not strong enough in the contest. North look good.

NON-MFC: Semi Finals
I think GWS lead in something like 95% of their total finals and lost them both.
-
NON-MFC: Semi Finals
That 50 was created by the umpires in the first half because a player gave the ball to the wrong person. Then when asking who to give it to they pay the 50 for time wasting.

NON-MFC: Semi Finals
Zorko having an absolute stinker. Given up 2 goals to his opponent and then gave an unnecessary free kick reversal that resulted in that goal.
-
NON-MFC: Semi Finals
I assume Zorko ran over to Coniglio to make fun of his mum.

NON-MFC: Semi Finals
Umpires over thinking it.

NON-MFC: Semi Finals
Cmon Giants. I’d like nothing more than Brisbane continuing to under perform when it matters.

NON-MFC: Semi Finals
How dare you.

NON-MFC: Semi Finals
That last second goal has every fan on every footy forum saying… ’I thought we were the only ones who gave up red time goals!’.

NON-MFC: Semi Finals
Still.

NON-MFC: Semi Finals
I feel for players trying to tackle.

Tairon Ah-Mu - No access for Dees NGA Talent
I feel like the only logical solution here is to lobby the Chinese government to create maps that clearly show Polynesia as part of Asia. Everyone will be too terrified to disagree, and we’ll get Tairon.

Former MFC President Joe Gutnick calls to make club-shaking moves
100 per cent of the supporters I’m friends with don’t care what Joe thinks.

NON-MFC: Trade Talk
Geelong don’t have a good pick to give up, so this could get interesting. He was pick 7 in ‘18, so Dogs are going to want something similar.

Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
Then we should do it every year! Maybe even pencil in a mid year one, to make sure.

Tom Sparrow’s manager needs to get that photo taken down immediately. That’ll really damage his brand.

Great stuff ET. I’m probably a bit sensitive as I haven’t really loved seeing some of the pile on of one of our posters here, who happens to be female. It made me uncomfortable, but in a way I don’t think I’m able to articulate properly. Again, apologies for misinterpreting your comment. I just wish everyone could perhaps act with a little more empathy (and I’ll try and remember to do the same!). Enjoy the rest of your weekend 👍

Well if that’s how you feel then I agree. I thought you were suggesting something else, so I’m sorry if I took it in a way that wasn’t intended. 👍

Why? Theres a bit of a weird misogynistic tone about parts of this thread that I don’t really love.

I couldn’t find this article. What did they say about Jack?

I think it’s just fresh. I imagine most folks will move on pretty quickly next season, particularly if there are wins. Football teams are very tribal too. Most of us don’t have a choice. It’s a family thing that we inherited, or it was a very early life choice that is ingrained. It’s quite a unique relationship between sports teams and their fans. It’s a bit like the mob, once you’re in there’s only one way out. So people will back in the institution over the individual in that circumstance, because they have a fierce loyalty to the immortality of the institution.
