  1. If anyone from the club is reading this forum I’d like to formally put my hand up to be drafted. Admittedly I am 46, and have no left foot, but I can absolutely promise you I have no desire to move closer to my family. Ever.
  2. I think Barrett is HQ’s mouthpiece in a lot of ways. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that he’s pushing the selfish angle. The AFL needs to protect itself and its clubs first, and this feels like a turning of the tide in terms of public perception. HQ are making Christian a whole lot less palatable, because they can’t have a situation where players just walk to big clubs by acting out. They can’t say anything publicly, but they have ways.
  3. I think Tracc thinks he’s Noel, but he’s acting like Liam.
  4. The article in The Age today says no one has the space or capital to make a trade happen. It also states he’s not interested in going to Essendon or St Kilda. So he’s not going anywhere, and this has all been for nothing - except massive damage to both brands? What a debacle.
  5. There’s an AFL grievance council? I could keep them busy for a decade.
  6. I’m surprisingly philosophical about it all. I’ve always been a Melbourne supporter, and whether I like it or not that’s never going to change. So I follow along all the drama, but in the end I know I’m here for life, and there’s nothing that will change that. Besides, what else am I going to do with my weekends? Spend time with my family? No thanks.
  7. Let me dream damn it! Richmond ain’t my problem to solve.
  8. All these people who have good mail really annoy me. My mail is only Dominos vouchers, and letters from the Electoral Commission.
  9. Or 1 and 6 go the Eagles and Harley comes home, where he belongs.
  10. Tigers asking for pick 6 for Rioli from the Suns. Suns don’t need to play that hard due to academy players coming through that they can get for combined picks. Tigers then offer us Pick 1 and 6 for Tracc. We then take 1,5 and 6 at the draft. Tracc goes to a bigger Vic club, and sees he’s old mate Yze.
  11. The tigers have twice the followers on Instagram compared to us. Pick 1 and Pick 6 please!
  12. Agree. He had no preseason, and then came into the side when we were playing some of our worst football of the last 5 years. Get him fit and confident, and get the ball to him, and it can all come together quickly.
  13. It was touched on the line by Marchbank.
  14. I read a little about Christian’s experience on the Howie podcast. Personally I’ve lived through some seriously traumatic experiences. I’m sure many others here have too. In the aftermath of those experiences I wanted to change everything about my life. I left countries, quit jobs, tried to outrun it all. I sympathise with Christian as a young man trying to make sense of the trauma of what he experienced. Sadly it took me a decade to realise that you can’t outrun the pain. You have to stop, rest, and process it. Worse than that, literally everybody in my life tried to tell me not to run, but I was too hurt to listen. It’s an incredibly difficult situation he’s in, and I think he’s trying to handle it like most of us think we need to - by powering on, throwing everything out, and making ourselves anew. I hope he has genuine help around him, and I sincerely hope he allows himself to listen to people that care about his long term welfare. It hurts to stop and deal with what’s happened, but if you don’t it just comes back to haunt you.
  15. Shout out for Jesse, who has had an incredible year. I’m really happy for him.
  16. No, the part where you said Gary Pert presently badly. I haven’t seen or heard that reported anywhere, so was asking you where you heard that?
  17. Source? I haven’t seen this anywhere
  18. She’s a Bombers fan. She needs a lobotomy.
  19. My therapist is a Bombers supporter. She says half her clients just come and complain about their football club, and she has to tell them it’s much worse for her.
  20. Freo look premiership favourites based on that list.
  21. Today I’ve informed Demonland of my desire to be traded to Bomber Blitz. I’d like the opportunity to have my irrational meltdowns in front of a bigger crowd. Thanks for your understanding.
  22. I think that’s what Christian’s trying to say, but don’t you find it fascinating that the ‘playing in front of bigger crowds’ argument has entered the conversation today? Didn’t hear that when all the information was only coming one way.
  23. I think the loss of control of the narrative is the actual story from this latest development. I think the club is putting more into the public domain than we may have suspected previously.
  24. I feel like the club have nothing to lose now. Christian has said what he wants and they’ve said ‘not going to happen’, but they have to weigh up the cost of keeping his attitude around if he doesn’t want to be there too. No harm in asking around, and if nothing comes nothing is lost. Might also show Christian we acted in good faith, and unless he wants to go to The Suns we’ll see you on the first day of preseason.
