I have complete confidence they're on the right path, they have Barry Prendergast after all.

I really like Tom's determination, a country boy who traveled approx 3 hours to training demonstrates this. Having said that, he really does need to work on his kicking, opposition teams know who can and can't kick. If you are identified as a player who can't kick, you will be 'zoned offed' so you are given the ball by a team mate to increase the chance of a turnover. In addition, you also become predictable when taking a mark in congestion and looking to handball backwards often eg Jamar. Tom's grit and appetite should definitely be bottled. edit: spelling

Come on DN9, we are looking for a football coach not a future son-in-law.

Naturally we would all like to see Jimmy rack up 30 possessions, take 7 bounces along the members and kick a Manassa like goal. Realistically, he is a kid in a team lacking leadership and quality, hell, our experienced players can’t do what is expected regularly, so please give the kid some time. What I noticed was a smart, inexperienced kid. He got to contests, he tackled and on more than one occasion he filled a hole in the Tigers forward 50. We are a success starved club who has seemingly been rebuilding for a long time with little value from high draft picks. We all want to see results and we all want to see some high draft picks become stars. Let’s not place too high expectations too early on 18 year olds, let’s first demand it and receive it from our older experienced players and the rest will follow. On return from injury, I would like to see Jimmy play at Casey until he has 3, 20 possession games in succession. This will provide more confidence to demand the ball when he comes back into the seniors. Good luck Jimmy.

Second hand; Apparently David Schwartz spoke at a luncheon on Saturday prior to a Northern Football League (aka Diamond Valley) game. I wasn't in attendance, however, I have been told that he said if we lost to the Suns, Neeld would not be at the club by Tuesday. Schwartz was also asked about the likelihood of Roos replacing Neeld, he went on to say the club had spoken to Roos, however, they believe Roos is heading to the Gold Coast - not Brisbane - the Gold Coast. So let’s hope like hell the Suns form continues so Guy McKenna’s contract must be extended.

There might be a nice desk on eBay tomorrow morning.

Choco Royal, more like a melted After Dinner Mint at best. Time to give him the Scotch Finger.

Wooshka - the lid is off, and, why the hell not? It's nice to smile again, people had forgotten I had teeth. I hope his contract includes a % of the increase in Casey gate receipts.

Brief discussion only, some points of interest; ■ Question 1 asked to Neeld was about the Collingwood profit; ■ Much research (Craig / Mission) went into the decision to go to Darwin for Heat/Humidity training Vs High Altitude training; ■ Heat/Humidity training will be part of an ongoing preseason regime, must be 2-3year at least to get the benefits; ■ Was asked about the recovery time after the trip to Darwin, as players generally struggle the following week to play after such a trip. My favourite part of the whole interview was Neeld's response to this question "Everything is planned to 1cm of its life" ■ Boys in much better shape than this time last year; ■ Dawes to play deep in forward 50, mentioned Pedersen, Fitzy and Mitch as Forward/Ruck options.

B: Nicholson Frawley Garland HB: Watts McDonald Dunn C: Trengove Sylvia Grimes HF: Howe Clark Blease F: Byrnes Dawes Pedersen Foll: Jamar McKenzie Jones Int: Tapscott Toumpas Viney Sub: Rodan 1. Settled and balanced back 6 2. Experienced and hard centre line 3. Dynamic HF line 4. Fresh, structurally sound FF line 5. Experienced hardnosed on ballers 6. Fresh, flexible and hard interchange 7. The Sub IMO must be someone who has the ability to create and make things happen quickly. He either will have to contribute to a team who is in a strong position when he comes on, or, try to improve their position. Both very different situations, DRod can fill this roll better than most.....if not, at least we will learn a few new dance moves for the evening ahead. Edit: Formatting

His change in shape is quite noticeable, I think he could be a bolter this season. With an increase in stamina/endurance, and, a clean bill of health, watch out. I salivate at the prospect of Tapscott, Viney and Wines (touch wood....literally) either coming off the square or starting in the guts. -
As frustrating as it is based on the positions taken in the draft and very early form, neither Morton nor Gysberts were able to cement positions in our midfield for a variety of reasons. We weren't exactly fighting off clubs with a chair and whip like lion tamers, this shows an awareness of their deficiencies by others. Neeld is all about attitudes and actions, one can only assume that the attitudes and actions shown thus far from these player are substandard. "Ask not what my club can do for me, but what I can do for my club"

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - DOMINIC BARRY

Dom Barrignon perhaps. -
I would love a gun mid, but I'm not sure we will land one that will demand big dollars. The club may want to use the surplus funds on a proven player, especially to hold down a key position post. If Rivers goes he is replaced, if he stays, we will have the ability to use one of the moblie defenders up forward. Interesting times ahead.

Don't be surprised if the club throw money at Chaplin, particularly if Rivers is likely to move on.

It’s so sad and embarrassing that this time of year is my most exciting as a Melbourne member. If it was a once off it would be palatable, however, it has been the case for far too long. The reality is that year in year out we have to unearth immediate core team ingredients rather than adding cream.....we have a team, yes a team, of first round draft picks, most of whom can't run, won't work, get pushed over too easily AND don't hurt enough. Enter; 1) Apatite for all contests 2) Absolute distain in a loss, both in a one on one contest and the teams end result 3) Willingness to work both ways 4) Sacrifice for the jumper and your mate Enter J Viney and J Hogan to follow. I’m 32 and look 42, during footy season I hate Monday’s even more so. Mark Neeld was chosen for a reason, he has seen how the best do it, he’s methodical and uncompromising exactly what is required. Initially it got up a few people, but have a look at what we have been watching for the past 10 years. Frankly, I wouldn’t put up with anyone who didn’t stir things up, that would show a certain contentment. I have faith that he will demand players whom will want to buy and take ownership of carrying the club forward, not content on getting buff (excludes a few) and having a kick on the weekend. The fact that J Viney in round 1 2013 on debut will be one of our toughest and most uncompromising players should be an embarrassment to the club….but it will make the others learn very fast that this is the standard, not simply one out of the box. Get the broom out, it hasn’t worked and let savages in.

Great size but will not provide value based on the $ anticipated. In addition, he is possibly 1 head high hit away from a rocking chair.

Tick tock tick tock... Neeld has 16 matches to improve
Vitamin Dee replied to bandicoot's topic in Melbourne Demons
I feel that Mark Neeld is assessing and observing our lists capabilities like a hungry Hyena stalking a pack of Flamingo's....Its tough to watch but it was never about this season.
