WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER

I mean't that I believe his style of play will be more inside grunt and physically hurting opponents like we saw in Ricciuto, than the tear away pace from a stoppage or forward of the play we see from Dangerfield. He has poise which is rare for someone so physical. Ricciuto is one of my all time no Melbourne players and I think Clayton's 'style' may be similar, or, more comparable than Dangerfield. -

Whilst I understand Oliver's skill sets being compared to Dangerfield, I think he may evolve into something more like Mark Ricciuto...with a little more poise. Can you imagine?? I genuinely feel we have the makings of the midfield we've been waiting for; Oliver Brayshaw Petracca Viney Tyson Salem VDB Yes we've been down this road before, but this is different. They're each clean / polished / ferocious / unrelenting / driven / thrive on the contest / love body contact - and THAT is something we haven't had. They're coming through together and will be driving the momentum shift, all with a reasonable target to kick to and an emerging mobile tap ruckman. I can smell it. -

I prefer it to the previous, however, the shape reminds me of my old cricket box. Naturally much smaller. -
That would be considered highway robbery, not overs.

If Danger went to Carlton it would make me sick. However, I think they will really struggle over the next 5 years and that makes me very happy.

With the assumption that our most reliable and consistent performers keep on the same level (Jones / Viney / TMac / Tyson / Dunn - and Lumumba. In no particular order; 1. Grimes: With the increase of quality at the club, he will be playing out of his skin to remain in the side. I really hope he can improve his disposal and make a big contribution. 2. Jamar / Gawn: We need a ruckman to tap to advantage and offer something / anything around the ground both in contested and uncontested situations. 3. Dawes: If he plays his role we will benefit two fold. He will alleviate the pressure and expectation on Hogan who will have and opportunity to focus on his own game with less external pressure. 4. Watts / Toumpas / Howe: Watts and Toumpas can offer elite disposal and I'd like to see much more run. Howe, with the inclusion of Lamumba may have an opportunity to push forward, tough to beat one of one so I'd push him deep. 5. Garlett / Kent: Run and create, I rate them both forward of centre, if we can kick a few more goals given our defensive capabilities, we should be in many more games at the finish.

Thanks Saty! Let us know when that Scooter needs a service, much appreciated as always. -
Saty and the scooter. He's far more committed than others we've had up in the past.

I heard from an ex AFL scout who still mixes in football circles that we'll take Laverde at 3. I have no idea as to the credibility of his sources as he has never provided intel before. However, I thought I would share it for those like minded 'Landers' who enjoy hearing this stuff. He said the top 5 will go like this; 1: Petracca (Saints) 2: Brayshaw (Dees) 3. Laverde (Dees) 4. Wright (GWS) 5. McCartin (Pies) Who knows, we shall wait and see.

The saints need a forward to replace Roo, ideally they'd have a 2 year transition period playing together. Next years draft is reportedly full of good mids, so this may just work nicely for us.
