  1. we all recall Petterd was a "go to" man under Bailey and held in high regard. this was when melbourne had some function in general field play. collingwood experienced that. petterD plays under strict instructions that inhibit his natural style. he's not the only player to have fallen away this year. Trengove, Martin, Dunn, Blease, Gysberts, Bate, Howe, Moloney immediately come to mind. Could ad Jamar to that list. Yes agreed some on that list weren't world beaters under Bailey but were expected to kick on this year. did not happen. Shocking judgment calls dumping Green as Captain for Trengove/Grimes have [censored] off these middle tier players "big time". basic cause and effect. TICK TOCK!
  2. ok changed my mind. sign him up!
  3. Hi Dee Zee Stanton came out with all guns blazing at the start of the season and was almost in the elite category. He has severely dropped off. He reminds me of the Steven Stretch type or perhaps Steven Tingay though not as good as the latter. IMO would advise a pass on Stanton and go for a Boak. We have a Stanton coming. Morton??
  4. Point taken Robbie though we only fell away toward the end of last season. most pundits rated Melbourne highly especially our young list. we were touted as a final 8 contender under Neeld not a back to square one rebuild! one of my cars needs a rebuild. Melbourne shouldn't have.
  5. Robbie Son!! I'm in Sydney on the Green Tea and cherries. Up from Melbourne for Uncle's Funeral.
  6. Message for Jackie!!! Well said. At last someone with a clear view not afraid to express a view and simply follow like sheep. Follow blind faith mentality that is.
  7. Certainly don't blame Bailey. Take the Geelong game out and compare the style of Football we played under him to now under Neeld. Much prefer Bailey. A little like Labor switching from Kevin to Julia?? Big Mistake.
  8. Good points Robbie. Melbourne were not a 'bottom club" when Neeld took over though. On the contrary we were spruked up as having a list to die for! Were pushing the eight hard and most of us thought this year we could make 8. AFTER Neeld took over we dramatically commenced our race to the bottom.
  9. Big Ditto to that Dee-luded!! My favourite player by miles.
  10. not sure who's fault it is Stuie! sick of Melbourne's gutless fade outs and constant excuses "oh we played 3 good Quarters" Truth is the opposition generally only needs to play one half decent quarter to beat us. We are so not the "hardest team to play against" in fact probably the easiest apart from GWS.
  11. This is true Hardrack and the sad reality. Perhaps I'll be proven wrong and Demons will make Final 8 next year. I'm F>>> Passionate Demon and would love it to happen. Just can't see any indication. Zero!!
  12. Exactly Stuie!! So he did. Enter M Neeld and post Brisbane Lions it's curiously time for a re-build.
  13. Mark Neeld would not have got the Gig at Magpies or Bombers . Yes Buckley and Scottsss can Coach. Observe how the Kangaroos have left Melbourne for Dead. Observe the basic game style . Melbourne ignore the loose player preferring to kick to contest. This is one reason Melbourne don't spread well under Neeld. POLICY!!! Kangaroos do both! Spread and create loose players and not afraid to attack via corridor.
  14. "Sours Ear" Both Malthouse and Voss commented Melbourne had one of the best lists "potentially"..in the Competition. Enter M. Neeld.
  15. Replacements? Malthouse/Lovett/Lloyd/Sheedy/Mark Williams if available. Followed Melbourne staunchly since 66. Watched many coaches come and go as most of us here has. Many feel (including RROVER) I am anti Neeld. Can assure all that is not the case nor do I dislike him. Have coached many games and consider myself a reasonable strategist. Sad Melbourne did not manage to secure a coach in the mould of the Scott Brothers or even a Hardwick. Kangaroos and Melbourne are miles apart now while at this stage last year both were tipped to be finals contenders for 2012. Enter Neeld. Scott's Kangas are progressing and Melbourne are playing the poorest brand of Football I have seen since the Denis Jones Year. Neeld has issues with strategy and just basic eye contact with media and his players. Masses of spin and hot air mixed up with talk of elitism. IMO the players are good enough and most would thrive in other teams. Howe, Frawley, Garland, Moloney, SYLVIA, Jetta, Petterd, Blease are just a few that come to mind that are significantly underachieving under Neeld. Round one V Brisbane the writing was on the wall. All to play for...All came to nothing!! We all must endure two more year of this. We must also watch the youngest most talented players go further backward in development. (Tapscotts, Bleases, Watt's, Gysberts, Mortons and so on. The whole process of the appointment was seeminglys rushed and made not only in haste but in extremely emotional and volatile times. IMO Gary wanted to make a statement the club was moving forward for Jimmy. Gaz did his best.
  16. nosher generally speaking Melbourne supporters don't t know the rules. Always blame Umpires.
  17. 80+ now we're getting a little carried away now? How many's Buddy got this year?
  18. Yes Chook. It's called the blind leading the blind
