  1. RR I'm very much a players advocate. Things have been tough for the Guys this year. Coming off DB handball or kick backwards game style to Neeld's Collingwood design IMO it's not right or fair to MASS KILL after one year. From what I've seen this year Aaron Davey should consider retirement. He seems slow and given his pace was always his strength then he will struggle next year. A little like a bee without a stinger. Sellar while serviceable can't kick, mark or handball and "going forward" will not make it. Neeld wants him to be an Ingerson, Icke or Spalding type but it's not going to happen. Joel Mac while certainly not the worst player in the list right now doesn't quite do it for me. Tends to lose the contested possessions seems slow and doesn't seem big enough. Good honest footballer and a hard call to see him go. The rest would be a mistake to clear given they have had an entire year to adopt the Neeld game style and will be far better next year. A new crop of players will be back to square one again and another year of pain guaranteed.
  2. Disagree! The forum is good for venting out. Not simply follow with blind faith and not question what the hell is going on. One could easily reply that your lack of input simply to say "These threads are becoming incredibly tiresome" are very boring and off the mark. If you have nothing to say then simply don't comment.
  3. Keep Moloney, Petterd and Trenners. Trengove will be a GUN in 2-3 years. Patients with him. Should not have been given the Captaincy. Shocking call.
  4. Here's one for Maurie?? Crappiest Midfield. Was it last year or the year before all the speculation before the Demons V Tigers Clash. Battle of the best young Midfields. Trengove, Moloney, Sylvia and Scully v Martin, Cotchin, Deledio.....turned out to be a great battle. Watts also had a great day and Melbourne were the NBT, What happened after that? Now all of a sudden these guys can't play. Is it they can't play or simply not motivated?
  5. sounds a little like a core and non core type scenario statement RR. Agreed don't quite get the quirky layered message which seems to be a RR trait. ironically if you ditch the slogan it would support Neeld more. way too early to display this type of message. sign of desperation It's the type of message to display mid way through 2015 and we are 10/10 losses. OK then! Go Demons!! I've used this forum for what's its basic intention is....to vent!!
  6. The mere fact someone finds a need to display a banner "I believe in Neeld" suggests his tenure is on the skids. Fact is Neeld is safe as houses. "I believe in Malthouse, Sheedy, Mathews, Scott, Hardwick, Barassi, Lyon, "... not necessary because they are all proven and competent coaches. Scott and Hardwick are motivators and do the media well which is vital for the Club. Neeld is considerably ordinary at both. Lets hope he does warm to it, forgets about Cloning/copying Collingwood and generally learns with the job.
  7. Not everyone RR. I read your posts re the politics in MFC right now. Do you think these types of issues are unique to Melbourne? Question is pure and simple. Can he coach or is it all HOT AIR? The game yesterday was a disgrace. I see Neeld in charge. All teams have issues, injuries and tend to blame this however it's the actual decisions from team strategy -trying to clone Melbourne's game to Collingwoods, appointment of 2 kids as Captains, leaving Rivers at FF, general lack of media savvy and seemingly poor eye contact along with other stuff that worries me. Above all this he doesn't seem to be a motivator. Having said all that RR let me say this. I am truly buoyed by your unrelenting support of Neeld. I would love him to succeed as Coach of MFC though my main concern is not the current humiliations on the field. My concern is enticing the best kids and free agents to come and play under him. My fear is they won't come. How many more meek performances will it take to remove your Neeld banner? The mere fact you display it suggests Neeld is in crisis. Fact is he is not in crisis and will be given well into his 3rd year to get us up the ladder. It's an embarrassment for Neeld to think supporters need to display this type of message in a Coaches first year. It's desperation when in reality all he needs to do is cease the hot air statements and show us something. DO DO DO DO SOMETHING!!!! Have you ever read or seen a Banner "I believe in Malthouse" "I believe in Sheedy" I believe in Barassi" " I believe in Lyon" "I believe in Hardwick" "I believe in Brad Scott"...think you get the message. Not necessary because we do believe in these Guys.
  8. yes and swap Neeld for Brad Scott please
  9. Sylvia Disaster for form? Coming off a broken back. Last 5 games have been more than serviceable in a very poor side.
  10. what "foundation" has Neeld built or perhaps he is the "foundation".
  11. Ralphius Luke Hodge made simllar comments about Melbourne's game style under Neeld.
  12. Neutral meaning I don't hate Neeld. Probably chose the wrong word in the context of the discussion. Neeld is not incompetent. Neeld is out of his depth and may have been a good support coach. He is lost. Lost as the main man. To create a good analogy here. Graham Kennedy and Bert. Neeld is Bert. he's ok but not good enough to be the main man. Maltouse Buckley and well down the list Neeld. That was Neeld on the Collingwood Pecking order.
  13. Retarded? Now now McFloonie. Save your slurs re: retarded or whatever....not called for in this forum. It's you that needs to come into the real world. I have seen most games. Melbourne have no leadership whatsoever. Totally rudderless. Extremely poor and the worst Melbourne side I have seen. Was to young to remember the late 60's but apparently we were pretty bad back then. Neeld will either be sacked or leave toward the end of next season. How can we entice the most elite young players to this club while under this Guy? Why do you think Cloke doesn't want a bar of Melbourne.
  14. Hi Jumbo, First one to clear up is I am neutral with Neeld. Was disappointed yet another untried coach. Kept turning up. Same result. Insiders believe Neeld is endeavouring to clone Collingwood's game plan and apply it to Melbourne. This concept is crazy. This is just starters. The kids are lost under Neeld. They aren't permitted to act instinctively. Luke Hodge has commented twice that he is a loss with this style of play, i.e. failure to consistently use the spare player and instead kicking long and wide to contest. Jumbo Melbourne are an embarrassment. Not competitive in the slightest. Direct contrast to what Neeld promised in the first year. Media are opting not to comment publicly yet but this will change with a loss to Gold Coast a distinct possibility. Sides can simply turn on a switch and beat us with little effort. Come back into reality. As for the eye contact thing.. Eye contact is everything for a coach. If the Coach say's "do something" "do do do" and is looking at the ground or anywhere else but the people or person he is projecting the message then it won't work. The message will be lost. It becomes more HOT AIR. He is simply not competent and it's not his fault. Should never have been appointed. He has turned a potentially good list into a complete and utter desperate rabble. Ask anyone outside of this forum for an opinion about Melbourne. Mid way last year there were good signs. Now absolutely no signs and it's not the players. Did you happen to watch the Tigers v Blues game. Two teams all playing guts out. What a stark contrast to Neeld's Melbourne. Bruise free Melbourne. Relentless has not been instilled in Melbourne. Players are not inspired. We are not even a shadow of these two middle tier sides.
  15. call it precisely how it is Mr Bush. Did you go to the game today? What did you think?
  16. Neeld's lack of eye contact is noticeable during interviews. Mitch Clark stepped up before his injury and said" I am Melbourne". He was believable . Mark Neeld is definitely and will never be Melbourne and repeat he will be remembered as another Gary Lyon experiment gone horribly wrong. No going back now. 1 and 1/2 years to go of this crap brand of Football.. Players are lost with it. Once skillful kids are now all of a sudden seemingly without skill. Can only hope for some massive transformation next year. Totally revamped game plan.
  17. Don't worry Monocular! I'll keep signing up as well. round one was poor V Brisbane and this game was worse. Kangaroos were not inspiring but did only what they had to do. Players seem uninspired and not motivated at all. Does anyone know how many games Denis Jones Coached before he "resigned"?
  18. Jerry you are either being sarcastic or perhaps a little silly? Good on you though for being positive!
  19. Most Pundits agree Kangaroos were also quite poor apart from the first 20 minutes. Toyed with Melbourne for the majority of the game.
  20. If that's truly the case Gonzo you'll be waiting at least another 2 years.
  21. Rubbish! There was no heart. If you were really Biffo you would not have said that. No heart. No passion. Players seemed totally disinterested.
