Hunt and Lever rotate off the bench in defence in same fashion as weid and pedo in the attack. These guys add to the churn with only one or the other on at any time rotating with others as required. i have been promoting the churn as a new coaching tactic and think we are developing the playing list to acheive that. We can also churn the list each game to suit the opposition. Having no injuries is the bonus factor.

I have been saying for many years that the shepherd is vital. it creates space and allows balance and clean disposal. While umpires often penalise an off the ball shepherd,it is still the most valuable tool for offensive play. Any player who disposes of the ball should instantly shepherd the player they gave it to, this would make their disposal more valuable. Bring back the shepherd!

Enjoyed this thread. It seems there is a strong argument for including Peterson the older or Weiderman the next generation as the replacement for T Mac in the second tall forward role. Weid played well against Hawks last year but they may have underestimated him then and won't do so again. It might be worth selecting both and having them rotate through the bench.

So what are the stats on frees for and against and is there any indication of where paid, ie forward,mid,or back. Also any comparison with other team totals.

Have read a few more responses and can only reiterate it is up to the coach to select and motivate the team so there is a match winner. Most successful teams had a number of match winners with a few Big occasion players who could lift at finals time. Again the coach has to get all the characteristics from the players and motivate them on the day to do what they have to do. Remaining focussed for 100 minutes would be a good start.

That's a good question. I always thought Watts was our K Greig game winner. We move on. Trac could be our Jarman Burgoyne type. Brayshaw our Barrassi type Hogan our Buddy, Brown, Carey, Even Pedersen could be a Brown, Carey, Bremerton type. Do we have an Aker? Perhaps Viney? no one has a Martin I think. But we also have Garlett who could be the explosive small forward, and Max who could revolutionise rucking.Oliver feeding off him could be a winning combination. So I still think we have the ingredients, it's now up to the coach to get them cooking

I'm way away from the action at the moment, but fortunate in keeping contact through Dland sporadically, coverage willing. I reckon the problem is that the coach has to get this disparate group of kids with huge potential to maintain focus on match day. Full 100 minutes of thoughts only of using all the talent they possess. They are trained measured tested etc all week but must hit the ground in a state to use every bit of capacity they have to respond to the coaches directions and any immeadiate emerging actions. This is a team which has all the components, it is the coach who will put all the variables together to

In London last week looking for red and blue beanie to wear in the snow. no Red and blue so settled for a tidy red one with a small canon. Thought I could wear to the G when I get home as the right colour red. Crystal palace closest red and blue but beanies only sold at the club. Treated with distane as a "Gooner" from then on which has required defensive reference to the Dees where I get much support. Did have a cockney stall holder who supported the black and whites. He fitted the stereotype with more Tatts than teeth and knew nothing about the game. Hope for more luck with a Barca beanie as I understand they are red and blue and more accessible.

Agree! Clarries hands are such a weapon that they must be restrained. Lucky that MC was able to recognise the potential harm such brutality can inflict.
