  1. Good get Jamar and Martin should give us an edge!
  2. We have seen plenty of midfield and forward rotations perhaps we could introduce the defender rotation rather than double team just have a different spoiling optioagain from training reports the defensive unit seems to be functioning in a pretty cohesive fashion
  3. probably need to refer to the squad as in the other thread, but hoping Trenners can lead the team to victory
  4. I dont Think any of us know all the facts and what would be best. I doubt it is worth speculating over. Have been delighted with the clubs actions and responses thus far Oli back to the footy threads as there is some meaningful speculation and scouring for the facts required.
  5. the Hawks midfield has some solid performers and I guess trenners game will be affected by the support of our core?
  6. Havent seen the hawks side but imagine Frawley would be best suited to Franklin from what other demonlanders have been saying about training form and playing strategies???
  7. Good post Oli diverting from the unknown saga to the issue of footy Like you hope he meets all the requirements of selection . Again like you I think he'll give the hawks a hard time Go Dees
  8. I am unsure of your legeal grounds for this action as it depends, as do all things, on all the circumstances. Summary dismissal can be related directly to a contract condition but any dismissal must be not harsh unjust or unreasonable. This is decided by presentation of all the facts and consideration of all the circumstances. Courts often impose fines as a person is employed and able to pay that fine so summary action of dismissing can be seen as harsh unjust and unreasonable. I do prefer those comments that are aligned with the "wait and see" "innocent until proven" "support" style than those that condemn and jump to conclusion with little knowledge of the facts I am happy to support the comments of the club released so far.
  9. agree with you BB59 that it has merit and should be checked out It would seem though that we and most teams are never going to be a single tenant to support a stand alone venue Maybe we can include alliances with other Melbourne branded clubs in other sports. I think this is where I was heading in mentioning our" ancestral" home and just hoping that heritage does not get lost in the hype. Thanks your comments appreciated!
  10. thanks all just being a bit Controversial with Tigers and wasnt aware of the scope of the AAMI operation. Did nt see the 20 yr time frame on the Doyle suggestion so I guess anything could have happened by then
  11. Dr Drake What match ups do you see with your selection and will this be to benefit our game style or a learning and development exercise???
  12. Dont want any dispute with your grandad but tigers may move to tassie??? The MCG is already being diluted as our home with other clubs sharing it as home on game day while new facilities may be fanrtastic would it have the same heritage as the melbourne park sports centre containing MCG and should we be the club to move from AAMI if problems there???
  13. I read in the age (last Saturday I think) that Robert Doyle was supporting MFC moving to a new site at Docklands. While I might be a luddite I think that the MCG and Melbourne should be inseperable. With the Casey option as the progressive expansion model I think we should be cementing the MCG contact as much as possible. If there are difficulties with overcrowding at AAMI should we look at moving the other teams out. OR Could there be any deal done with the Punt road oval to make it the home of Melbourne football??
  14. Totally agree and hope that the coaching staff are looking at both ends of the scale. I think the lists that are around show we have plenty of potential if we can support and develop it
  15. Deespower I probably agree with your comments but it certainly fills me with a great deal more confidence than I have had for a while
  16. I am probably in the biased basket But having followed the dees for over 50 years have had to endure many false dawns with an elite player who did not achieve the ultimate or even in some cases consistent individual or team results Have followed footy and seen many champions ( some of who were most unsavourry in their approach to other players) but who could produce when it mattered. I agree with all you have said and think this is the depth along with the gameplan etc that I am hoping to see continue this year, With the astute approach seen so far the top 5-6 could well emerge this season. I Hope! Go Dees!
  17. I often thought Darren Bennett should do this as he was more accurate from 50 than 10!!!
  18. Not sure where your going with this oli You asked the question and got the answer It seems most supporters are happy that MFC has acted appropriately and it would seem consistently.
  19. I would have thought that taking a holiday might be a good way to treat stress and as such could be recommended rehab for compensable illness The pm example is a little too obscure as no paid hrs as such and not sure of relevence of workers compensation position.
  20. An answer was given which I thought was sound there is a work related injury which can be treated in a number of ways including allowing to travel Deal with it as such time frames are related to treatment and rehabilitation outcomes.
  21. Unless thats what the coaching staff are wanting him to do???
  22. I reckon depth is where the success will come from No need to overplay your best 5 or 22 select the best team for the day, opposition and circumstances. Do we have players who play better at one venue?? or in wind?? teams used to be selected for wet soggy grounds. whilst that has improved we still see players who can perform on a given day. Some players feel more comfortable/ assured against a particular player or team that will be their day and they may be better than a more credentialled player. Depth allows you to rcover refresh or rest so list management(depth) can be a powerful attribute for our club.
  23. I think you got the title right rather than the best 22 on other thread. The depth of the squad will probably be tested during the season as injuries and form fluctuations hit but it is great to see the options and I am really waiting to see the variations against the variety of oppostion teams. I did ask earlier if Neeld had an easier task matching against the pies because of his personal knowledge. I guess we will see as he handles other team structures and styles. With that said he certainly does appear to have a better list and others have paid some credit to previous coaches and recruiters so maybe we can continue the development at a faster rate to exploit the riches we have.
  24. just had a quick look in the locker room 16,000 odd posts on JW nearly 6000 on morton 4000odd on moloney The boy is certainly generating interest (at the risk of regenerating those puns) Was interested that Neeld referred to the investment and nned to get a return hopefully hes looking longer term blue chip (BHP rather than high risk short term)
  25. Lots to like about what you say BJ Hope JW keeps his development on and off the field Neeld and Jack both seem pretty balanced I hope those footy skills he has displayed increase and I still continue to say he could be our big occassion player I hope so!
