...and Oliver at 1, we're looking good.
-
Wow, I didn't realise he was that old... He had a great injury free run there for a while but the last few years haven't been kind. Collingwood's list is looking worse than I thought with Sidebottom on the way out and Pendles nearer the end than the start and Howey struggling with injury also near the end.

Kate Roffey Set to Become President of the MFC

Sometimes people just like to whinge about not much at all... We're winning, I reckon that's pretty good. -

I'm very superstitious...we've been winning whilst she's been quiet, no peeps. Let's keep it at no peeps, never tempt the fates... -
...and Lever must also be a chance.

Well i wouldn't call it fair 'Rodney', but having just had a look at the replay it was a cheap shot on the umpires blind side. No looks like, or alleged about it, it was a punch that landed where he wanted it to land.

The old saying winners are grinners rings true. It's much more fun when things are working for you...

The thing that always gets me about this is that during the bad years our members still kept turning up. I believe we had the highest % of members consistently turning up to games, even through the Neeld years. This belies the stereotype of band wagon jumpers. Hawks supporters most definitely hold the title of biggest band wagon jumpers and those stick fat, side by side Collingwood mob are also very fickle. They drop off very quickly.

Awesome 'demonstone'! great read, that was the laugh I needed tonight. Thanks mate...

With an election coming up in Tassie, I'm not sure if you are joking but this could very well be the case now. Docklands is available on Sunday afternoon so I would lock it in...

He will have a place in the team, don't you worry about that.
-
To be fair 'bin', Brian is still trying to get the players names right...I mean they only have big numbers on their backs and they all have a different gait and approach at the footy. Once he sorts this out he will then move on to rules of the game, which he still really struggles with. Then he's got anatomy...doesn't seem to be able to tell the difference between a twisted ankle and a head knock. This of course doesn't stop him from giving medical opinions that the player in question should be back on soon. So then 'bin' he can start to deal with strategy and stats...

...and Irving Azoff.

That's just the way it falls sometimes, nothing we can do about it if he goes in the top 20. We're not being shafted, it's just the timing. Some you win, some you don't. The article is a bit of click bate anyway, it's a long season and no guarantee he will go top 20...particularly as a ruckman. They need a good headline to hang the new rules on and a bunch of supporters like yourself to get up in arms about it.

Needs to string a few of these games together before getting a call up this time... I reckon he was thrown in unfairly last year and he didn't make an impact. More like Sundays game and he will get his chance again

Gawn was streets ahead of Spencer as a ruckman and should have had development put into him at Casey, instead he was played more as a forward and only had real game time in the ruck when Spencer was injured. I remember watching Gawn towel up Hudson, a good experienced senior ruckman when he had the opportunity v the doggies 2's team at the time. It would have been Gawn's first season. Whilst ruckmen take time to develop, you can see the special ones early on. Max just needed to want to do it and thankfully for us the penny dropped and the opportunity came under Roos.
-
Max was also handicapped by a dumb FD who insisted on playing Spencer ahead of him in the ruck at Casey and thought they could make Max into a key forward. Whenever Max got a clear run in the ruck at Casey he showed he had the goods back then.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
rjay replied to Lord Nev's topic in Melbourne Demons
Sorry, but you are wrong again... -
Would agree with you on Bedford but really stepped it up a notch today in the VFL game...if he can put a few more like that together he may have a future.
-
We played luxury footy early, our mids in particular dropped back into some old habits & it didn't help our forwards. No May also cost us some drive from the back half... ...and the Hawks made it a scrap but we eventually burned them off. Having said that, I think you are probably right. On todays game (VFL & AFL) Weid probably gets the nod over Brown.
-
I think Fritsch & Melk are vying for the same position & Fritsch wins that one... Melk doesn't do enough these days to give the team coverage that Jordon & ANB do. M Brown might be the unlucky one but I can see us going in unchanged.
-
Looked a bit rusty still...I think he comes in for the North game if he's ready.
-
I would hope not...

Add Rayner, Rowel & Ugle-Hagen to that list for now, the curse of number one... Whitfield is struggling to get on the park. Also Scully & Kreuzer were cut down by injury. So, of the 2000's the first 3 had good careers... 2000 Riewoldt, 2001 Hodge, 2002 Goddard. ...but since then the pickings from the pick are hit and miss. Luck still plays a big part.

We got the good one...
