  1. I'm not sure it would be a good move for North. They have Cunnington due back in and he's their spiritual leader if you like...they need to blood kids in the midfield and they don't know whether he will get his spot back. Bringing in Mundy to take up another spot makes no sense. Great player Mundy but doesn't bring a wealth of finals experience either. They are probably better off chasing one of the older Tiger players...
  2. Did we...I know we didn't do a repeat of a previous camp as players weren't too keen but was it the same as this one? I didn't think so.
  3. II remember studying periodisation in training for my level 2 coaching some time around 1990. The concept has been out there for a while now.
  4. Loading is not sexy...stirring debate and creating emotional responses keeps people dangling on the line. I watched a bit of the couch last night. Example..Tom Hawkins walking the length of the field to berate Tom Stewart & his fellow defenders was great leadership. When Steven May has a go then it's dissent in the ranks, they're not a happy club...it's all falling apart. David Noble didn't know how to handle the current generation, was too hard on the players. McVeigh, good on him for telling some truth, would love this level of honesty at my club. Any wonder I've been turning this stuff off, it's pure garbage wrapped around the idea they are doing cutting edge analysis. Healy's departure has hastened the demise of a once ok show...it's really poor now.
  5. They've done a great job to stay up there but... They made finals last year but I would say were uncompetitive.. Is it better to win premierships or be just making up the numbers sometimes being competitive in the top 8? You build a premiership through a core group of players that come through together from the draft. Selwood, Hawkins & Duncan are the last men standing...they've replaced the likes of Chapman, Johnson, Bartel, Scarlett, Taylor, Enright, Corey etc...but you never really replace that level of talent, age and commitment. If they don't win it this year then they will fall off the cliff as those 3 move on starting with Selwood next year. It's over 10 years since their last flag and time is up for this list. Is this competitiveness really fools gold????
  6. Dare I say he's just a very naughty boy.

I normally love listening and watching anything football at this time of the year. ...but I just (and it's not just because it's great) put on music now...King has ruined my enjoyment so I find it elsewhere. If we do happen to win the flag this year I will make a point of ringing and in the words of Teddy Whitten "stick it right up him"...
  8. Only 3 clubs...whats wrong with the rest.
  9. Harmes is a very handy player...I hope we hold him.
  10. Balta, from what I've seen is not much of a forward. If I was the Tiges I would swap him with Gibcus who has some forward skills but hopefully they won't figure that one out.
  11. 2nd that...quality work 'Dwight'.
  12. Yep, that's been in my mind. Our draw this year put us up against the better sides right in the loading period which hasn't helped. Onward we go to Friday night.
  13. I don't think I could name one mens soccer player.
  14. Nothing to do with humour at all. I really just wanted to know where the ball was, who had it and the score...he could give me none of those things.
  15. I'm no fan of Rex (not a nice man) but the road rage thing does have 2 sides & probably a longer story. Looks like the other person took a swing at him. Rex probably loves the publicity though, he's been irrelevant for quite some time now. As Chico Marx says "aren't irrelevant's in the circus"
  16. Dennis is/was probably my favourite footy caller...effortless versus so many try hards. Love Isa, watch the cricket sometimes just for her commentary...great sense of humour & fun along with knowledge of the game. Daisy is a welcome addition but has little competition from the boys club of out of date has-beens. Haven't heard much of Brown's special comments work to make my own comment.
  17. The AFL actually had a bit of an each way bet... “Ginnivan is responsible for the initial high contact however (Mason) Redman then continues with the tackle in an unreasonable manner, holding Ginnivan around the neck,” an AFL statement read. “In this instance a free kick should have been awarded to Ginnivan. My call (watching it again) if they think the initial high contact was ok then it should have been illegal disposal (dropping the ball if you like) As he gets tackled Ginnivan just drops the ball to the ground. It would be holding the man if he disposed of it correctly, he didn't...
  18. Yes he was at shoulder height then Ginnivan dropped to ensure the high contact was seen. He also raised his arm which in this case didn't effect the tackle but was done to do exactly that...the exact behaviour the AFL are trying to get rid off I'm happy for him to get this one given against him...I reckon it was a 50/50 that he tried to milk. Poor Jack not... The AFL are only making things worse by coming out and commenting on this tackle. Weak. It really p.... me off.
  19. At this point he's definitely dropped his knees...
  20. It wasn't a free this time...
  21. It might have been an incorrect call...I thought he dropped but couldn't find the slo-mo. More importantly it didn't need to be addressed by the AFL and the media only beat it up for Collingwood views.. Since when do the AFL comment on every 50/50 decision being made. They have addressed the issue last week and that should be it. If you are a serial ducker, dropper, actor then you can expect to be on the wrong side of some of these. The carping on from Collingwood and the Dogs is a pain in the a...
  22. No he didn't...he posted that Jackson was gone. Another poster posted that a deal had been agreed and signed with Brayshaw. That doesn't look so good now.
  23. How come we've been in winning positions in pretty much every game we've lost? Would seem the plan was working ok. Did the brilliant opposition coaches finally dissect our plan by half time and run over us? took them long enough. Or, were they playing rope a dope...let us win the first half then come out with their real plan after the break.
